    "Hotel pretends to be what it isn't. It's basically an accommodation only guest house with 3-star prices. Also asked for payment at the check-in, a bit strange for 3-star hotel. Had to ask for receipt on check-out. Hotel has done a good marketing job on website, photos etc, but the reality is quite different." (108507361)

    Fine central location, reasonably good room cleaning service.

    The hotel cannot possibly be classified as 3-star. There are virtually no facilities to justify this. Small, hot triple room with tiny bathroom. No wardrobe in room. Located on ground floor opposite traffic lights, so noisy with window open in the hot weather. Poor breakfast.

    "I loved the location, I was doing the marathon so it was a benefit to be so close to Victoria and to have breakfast moved to an earlier tinme to suit me was wonderful and saved me having to find somewhere at 7 in the morning on a sunday! The rooms are small as advised but are more than adequate and the satff were lovely." (107306292)

    The hotel was clean, staff were lovely and opened breakfast early as I was running the marathon. To have the key to come and go without needing reception was a good plus point too.

    There weren't any - the rooms were small and I had the box room but I was aware of that when I booked and it was clean and en-suite which was everythign I required.

    Hotel is central but still in a quiet area. Though they stated they changed towels every other day, they did manage to change them daily (or at least they folded it back on top of the bed). The room even had TV (Not that we asked for it)

    A bit expensive for the room size (small room, no closets, one small bathroom with shower) but probably wouldn't find cheaper... Toilet didn't flush well. Breakfast was simple (continental breakfast, with tea or coffee and toast... two toasts).

    The room was very quiet. We only had 6 steps to our room. The key to the room opened the front door too and that meant we did not have to wait in the cold. Central heating was excellent.

    Breakfast can be better.Twin room is too small for a 7 day stay. Quad room edequate for 2 people for a long stay.

    Comfortable size room and bathroom; Fan in the room; Has a lift; Extremely helpful and friendly reception desk staff; Lots of pubs and restaurants nearby to choose from; At least two grocery stores nearby; Beautiful neighborhood; Felt very safe to this solo female traveler; Close to Victoria Coach and Rail Stations; Very reasonable daily charge for internet use with one's own wireless-capable computer

    Only trivial - Be aware that breakfast consists of cereal, toast, juice, coffee/tea; No coffee/tea making facilities or supplies in room; Carpet stains, otherwise very clean

    "Friendly staff, ready to help, competend. Lift stops between floors. Very narrow staircase, but manageable with suitcase. (Staff recommended to go to 4th floor by lift and then let suitcases slide down the steps to the third...). Would not recommend this for handicapped people. Single room had only a bed (very comfortable!), a small round table with TV and a pole with hangers for clothes. No chair. Room had approximately 4 sqm. Window opend and closed well, nice and clean curtains. No lounge in Hotel, so no place to sit other then your bed. Bathroom very clean! Breakfast in Souterain. 2 peaces of light toast, 3 kinds of flakes, orange- and apple-juice, one pot of marmelade on each table, coffee or tea. For three nights it was really okay for me.     "Location of this hotel to all major things you'll generally look for is a plus, tube station is only a short walk away. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants near by aswell as the shopping mall near to victoria railway station which have all major shops ie; sainsburys aswell as small food outlets if you want a quick snack, mcdonalds, burger king etc. The area the new england is situated is peaceful as its not on the major rat run in/out of london."     "It would have been helpful to know before booking how incredibly small the room and bathroom were. More pictures on the website of the room/bathroom. Also very important to inform visitors is that the lift does not go directly up to the different floors. We were on the third floor, and were advised upon arrival with all our heavy luggage that it would be better to take the lift to the fourth floor and go down the stairs to the third floor...rather than going to the lifts stop at the third floor and going up the steps. This Hotel was not worth the price we paid!!" (99394654)

    I liked the fact that the hotel was close to victoria station

    I've never encountered having to put a monetary deposit down on a room key.... Also in other accomodations that we stayed at on our journey through England, and Scotland offered a tea/coffee setup in the room (None was available at the New England) Also Available at our other accomodations was a food menu that we could choose from which offered a variety for us. At the New England Hotel it was just Corn Flakes or Fried Egg, Small piece of bacon, Toast, Tea, and Juice....Every single day.

    "Jay and Angie are extremely friendly and you can tell this hotel is a family owned business because of the atmosphere. The hotel is situated in a nice quiet area compared to central London therefore able to enjoy a good nights sleep or it could have been because of the very comfy beds. Excellent location for Victoria Station 10 minute walk away. Also only 15 minute walk away for Chelsea Flower Show." (99406048)

    The very warm friendly atmosphere, and extremely helpful information. The room was very comfy and the beds were excellent. Felt like been part of a family. Will definitely stay again.

    Would have loved tea/coffee in the room, but I believe this is on the cards for the future.

    We wish the elevator stopped on each floor rather than between floors. It was not easy to move luggage between floors.

    "Hotel is good value for a short stay (we were there for four days) and is within walking distance of Victoria bus and rail stations. As well City buses are about three blocks away. Restaurants are nearby as well as small convenience stores. Perhaps it should be noted that the hotel has two rooms in the basement which might not be to everyones liking but we didn't actually see them. Good modern security system. Some things such as hallway carpeting are showing signs of wear so that kind of maintenance will need to be done soon. We would definitely stay there again." (3305448982)

    Reasonably priced for central London, especially as breakfast was included. Comfortable beds. Staff was very courteous.

    Lack of space (room quite tiny). Ensuite had a shower stall but not much room to manoeuvre. Unable to control room heat.

    We had two teen aged children with us and the room was very small for this accommadation. The room said suite so I thought it was bigger than it actually was.

    "Overall, i got positive impression of the hotel; the service was very good, the staff was very helpful, room was quite cosy and clean. English breakfast was included and was not bad at all. The biggest inconvenience for me was lack of iron and iron board as I was in London on business and could not deal with wearing jeans all the time. However, the manager provided me an iron and iron board and in the evening I could take care of my cloths in the basement. Not very convenient, to be honest, to climb to the 3 floor from the basement with a pile of ironed things! I guess this hotel would be great for travelling students, old couples, singles. Wir hatten zu fünf Personen aus dem Personal Kontakt und keiner dieser Personen vermittelte den Eindruck nett und hilfsbereit zu sein. Wir waren 2003 schon einmal in diesem Hotel und hatten einen besseren Eindruck als bei unserem letzten Besuch. Als Übernachtungsmöglichkeit für einen Wochenendausflug ist es ausreichend, jedoch sind die Zimmer für zwei Personen sehr klein. Es war auch kein Schrank vorhanden und das Frühstück ist leider sehr schlecht. Ich würde es bedingt weiter empfehlen." (2056027)
