    Good value via internet booking. Efficient and friendly service. Very good value food.

    Shower very difficult to use, required considerable strength to turn on, and to regulate the temperature. The fire door on the landing should have a closer fitted that closed the door quietly.

    Enjoyed our stay in Wales and Abbeyfield is a handy location to Bangor and the northwest coast

    The family room was tiny and the bathroom was poorly designed so everything got wet from the shower.

    Value for money, pleasant and quiet location. Food good.

    Limited menu choice. Some may find the noise from the adjacent passing trains disturbing, however this does not apply to all rooms (trains infrequent) otherwise this is a peaceful location.

    Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent. Room was a good size.

    It was a bit boisy. The shower was very temperamental. It was close to a railway line.

    Welcome; atmosphere feeling that we were important Quality of food at dinner and Breakfast

    Bad is too strong - a suggestion would be perhaps apple or opineapple juice as an alternative to orange juice at breakfast AND [more importantly] Don't run out of the steak pie again when you've given it such a promotion [though perhaps missing it is the incentive to return!!]

    The room was spacious

    Room was cold, the bath tap did not work and the floor boards were really noisey.

    "Adequate overall but only because of the good food and service received in the bar and at breakfast. The exterior and interior ie bedrooms need some attention if a good overall rating is to be achieved." (97485518)

    Bar and dining area were good. The food purchased in the bar in the evening was very good as was the service. The breakfast and service was also very good.

    The bedrooms in general were adequate but dated and tired. The bathroom was in need of urgent attention in particular the shower. The common areas leading to the bedrooms were in need of a complete refurbishment.

    very good bar menu

    not to have any drinking water in the room such as to take pills with as the sign said only to drink previously boiled water!! Also could not get much sleep as revellers kept us awake until police arrived in the early hours! Staff in the morning didn`t seem to be aware of it as of course they were not there ! Breakfast was the worst ever! we both had really dodgy tummys I am sure to the water situation! That shoould have been bought to our notice when booking.

    "Our stay at the hotel was a pleasent experience, It was adequate for our needs for the two days we stopped over. But the cramped conditions of the room would have been a strain, If the weather had been bad, and we were curtailed to staying indoors." (97642228)

    The central location of the hotel - It was close to the Snowdon National Park, and a short drive from the hotel to the center of Bangor, free off road parking. The meals was excellent with a good variety of choice from the menu.

    The bed springs was squeaky,the room was rather cramped.

    Nice staff,self serve kitchen was nice it allowed us to get an early start.

    Room was a little stuffy,weather was warm and hunid,room had only one small window that opened at ceiling height.I would suggest that hotel provide a small fan.

    "My husband, daughter and myself enjoyed our very short stay at Abbeyfield. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food served at the hotel was of excellent quality and all needs were catered for. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would return if visiting the area again." (97869341)

    "No sense of a manager or receptionist there to act as a cheery focus for guest needs. Seemingly simply casual staff with little interest in guests. One of the least welcoming guest houses I have encountered in Wales. Not doing Bangor, North Wales or the Welsh any favours. I would not have made a formal complaint but as I have been presented with this questionnaire, I am raising these points because I don't think other visitors to this part of Wales should have to experience the indifference I encountered here."     "It would be useful to know if a lift is available and where the rooms are situated - i.e. which floor. Overall though a very pleasant stay at a quiet hotel, ideal for a stop-over." (97680972)

    The accomodation was was oldie worldly and friendly.

    The rooms were very out dated and needed to be refurbished but most importantly they were clean.A lift would of been good though as I took my nana and she found the stairs difficult as they were big and steep.

    "No-one seemed to be about in reception at 6pm, took a while to receive a room key and no booking in procedure. Twin room was clean and comfortable. Usual tea, coffee and UHT milk. Service at breakfast was attentive and very polite and food good. For an overnight stay proved adequate if a little expensive. The railway passes extremely close to the building but trains are few and very fast so not really a disturbance." (97733399)

    Good location for exploring north Wales area. A good footpath nearby. Food was very good! Staff were friendly and helpful.

    Some parts of room were a little rough, though minor--i.e. bathroom narrow; building is next to train line, so some noise. Not too bad, though.

    "We would stay here again. Ideally situated for visiting the surrounding area. The room was standard type (double bed, En-suite, TV. We did not have to order evening meals in advance, just pick from a menu when required. food was excellent (too much if you're not a big eater)and overall the stay was pleasant" (97297420)
