    Beautiful position on the beachfront, wonderful views. Staff are generally great, obliging and attentive, without being intrusive; it feels relaxed and cheerful.

    Evening menu a little over-ambitious? Some simpler, cheaper options would have been welcome. Views from bedrooms have, in the past, been rather spoiled by very dirty windows (although fine on this visit).

    nice location. friendly reception staff

    nothing bad. main suggestion would be a couple of biscuits/cookies etc with coffee in lounge, many similar standard hotels do this as a routine, to the point it was a surprise not to get any.

    Lovely aspect on the beach affect, clean, unobtrusive decor. Bed linen crisp.Breakfast great.

    Bed rather short (room 216) Duvet heavy -I would expect a light feather one at this price range. Slip mat for shower very yellow and old looking. Bathroom very cramped.

    Great view from my room.

    The restaurant served very well presented food in small portions. I was on a walking holiday so I would have preferred less well presented food, but more of it!

    Amazing view right out onto the sea front. Good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice food. Spacious room.

    "Staff were friendly, the dining area was really nice and the view of the sea while eating breakfast was unbeatable. The rooms were a real dissapointment and if our stay had been for longer, we would have been less than impressed. If we were to stay there again, would make sure that the rooms were of a better quality." (107877645)

    The dining and lounge area of the hotel were good - view of the sea was gorgeous

    The rooms were tired, with wall paper hanging off, not to mention the shower rail.

    Lovely food. Lovely location.

    Bed a bit small and saggy. Felt a bit overpriced for quality of room. Breakfast order was not picked up from room door on Saturday evening. Had ti ring down for breakfast and there was then a delay in delivery.

    Every member of staff, without exception, whom we dealt with in any capacity, was excellent, they were friendly, professional, polite, helpful.

    when we booked a meal in the restaurant via the reception desk for the evening, the restaurant new nothing of the booking when we turned up. However the staff were very prompt to make us know this wasnt a problem, and seated us immediately and made us feel very comfortable.

    SMART COMFORTABLE HOTEL WITH NO STUFFY ATMOSPHERE - YOU COME AWAY FEELING THOROUGHLY RELAXED AND THE FISH AND CHIPS ARE THE BEST IN ENGLAND. VERY FRIENDLY AND ACCOMMODATING STAFF.     The sea view was lovely. Room was spacious and well presented. Close proximity to beach was a real plus. Very quiet, which was what we wanted.

    Service at breakfast was slow and rather disorganised. Evening meal at hotel, although delicious, was overpriced compared to restaurants in Aldeburgh serving comparable food.

    comfortable bed and feather pillows which were requested were in room on arrival

    bathroom quite old and tiles cracked, sealent around bath a ltle mouldy. Parking was horrific -had to pay at car-park down the road

    Excellent meal, great location.

    some restaurant staff a bit inexperienced. Car parking limited. I parked on the front which meant a long reverse each time. You might like to consider a warning note that there is no turning at the end of the front road. I had to help an elderly lady who had got hopelessly stuck trying to turn round. In the end I reversed her car all the way along the front for her!

    Upgraded to a sea-view room at no extra charge - a pleasant surprise Restaurant was very nice and with great sea views again

    Room decor was quite tired and wallpaper a bit shabby in places.

    Friendly staff and very accommodating - moved our room on request to avoid room next to lift shaft

    Some floors extremely creaky (floorboards) - appreciate that this is a hotel of character but may be an annoyance to some visitors. This is only a minor consideration

    Vegtables should be included in price of meals Lunch menu too expensive There were two light bulbs out in room, nobody noticed this.

    "A pleasant hotel made better by the excellent restaurant staff. Really only good as we had a reduced price deal. I would never pay the full price here until an upgrade completed. I would be tempted to say stay elsewhere and just go to the restaurant. Breakfasts good. Only stay if you can have a sea view room. In the summer you will need the sea breeze in your room to stay cool. " (107838881)

    Restaurant excellent, room very comfortable and warm. Bed very comfortable. Could be a lovely place in the summer as right on the beach.

    Lots of doors dirty around the handles, carpets in public areas dirty. Place needs a good clean and paint. Curtains in room faded. Locks on bedroom doors old Yale variety. No air conditioning. Could be very hot in summer. Rooms without a view must be awful as the back of the hotel looks out over tall buildings.

    Lounge area should have been cleared more quickly - large table near us was not cleared for the full hour we were sitting at another table. Very unhappy with one point - booked originally as B&B. Phoned about 2 weeks before we visited and also booked us in for dinner. No one asked/suggested we change to dinner B&B rate and I presumed that this would be done. When I came to pay, I was charged two separate rates. I think this is inappropriate and good customer service would have been to change the rate. Room was very small even for a standard room
