    Friendly staff, good food in both restaurant & bar, comfortable seating areas, all spotlessly clean. On-site parking, local tourist information readily available.

    the 'zip & link' type double bed would have worked better if the duvet had been larger. As it was, one of us ended up sleeping partly on the join in order to be covered by the bedding, which was not so comfortable.

    no tea making facilities in room. unable to supply an early breakfast (I was taking part in the Bala triathlon. Was advised on-line to book into the restaurant to eat. I did this but then was told that couldn't have bar menu in restaurant - this menu had more choice and I wanted to eat a pasta meal. the manager on duty did allow us to eat from the bar menu when I complained. On-line info does not make it clear that the restaurant has a restricted menu. food not of very good quality. room cramped and toilet not separate from sleeping area. Very noisy at night from high st.

    Lovely room, great breakfast, decoration really nice. Bathroom huge and sparkling clean. Great hotel.

    Not a criticism of the hotel, but the town was very noisy and a bit intimidating (gangs of drunks etc) on the Saturday night. Our room was at the front and we had trouble sleeping -will ask for one at the back next time!

    Excellent value for money, the rooms was superb and the shower was totally awesome. We ate in the bar and the food was very good. Breakfast was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Best I have stayed in for some time.

    Staff were really helpful and friendly.

    Having an ankle injury I found the lack of a lift and having to take the stairs awkward.

    Nice hotel, good food and friendly staff. Good location

    2 nights disturbed sleep caused by drunks wandering home in the early hours coupled with the sound of glasses or bottles being broken.

    Very poor Beer quality. Served in beer in plastic glass. Attitude of one of the evening bar staff rude and arrogant.

    Clean. Good inexpensive bar food. Well located.

    Bathroom - had inadequate shelving to hold wash bag, etc. Also very good powerful shower but unable to use to full potential due to flooding of bathroom when on full!!!!!

    nice looking hotel, pretty good food.

    on the main street, which can be very noisy, room was very warm, some mildew on the net curtains in the bathroom, also a burn hole, mildew on the bottom of the shower screen, service in the restaurant gets very slow as the evening progresses, obviously understaffed

    NO RUNNING WATER IN ROOM FOR THE WHOLE OF THE WEEKEND, CURTAINS HANGING OFF, WARDROBE DOOR BROKEN, FILTHY WINDOWS AND DUSTY BEDROOM. NO DOUBLE GLAZING MAKING FOR A LOT OF NOISE AT NIGHT. DEAD FLY FOR 2 DAYS ON WINDOW LEDGE IN RESTAURANT.

    Good friendly hotel. We had a large room which was clean and comfortable. Food was good with plenty of choice on menu. Value for money.

    Insufficient water in morning. My wife was in middle of a shower when hot water went off. Also problem with flushing toilet as insufficent water. As large number of persons eating in both restuarant and bar on first night had to wait some time between first and second course. Put us off having a starter on remaining nights. Being on top floor stairs proved a problem. Might be useful for this to be highlighted on booking information so that those who will have difficulty with stairs can a t least request room on lower floors.

    Not enough toilet rolls (spares), last day it ran out Limited space to sit outside on nice days, rear squeezed into car park area not very picturesque

    clean bright rooms, right in the middle of bala a lovely town with great lake. The bar staff where a little over stretched in the afternoon manning reception and bar but still very polite and freindly. bar prices where ok and a evening meal in the bar was excelent value well recomend the local made faggots and mash.

    Are room view of kitchen roof and car park was not inspiring, door to room was very stiff and heavy for less able people to open room was ecelent big bed but bath room was a little grubby main moan was the "Brekfast" in the resturant utter rubbish worst brekfast i have had in a long time and we stay in hotels regular..... big dis service to the name of a full welsh brekfast ukk!!

    Very clean, nice room. Good location.

    No one there for check in. Had to call to find out what to do. Apparently hotel tried to call me to give instructions but i had no mobile reception and never got the call. No one was there the following morning for check out either and i had to call again to find out what to. The person on the phone ws very friendly but was unsure even if the bill had been settled properly when i asked.

    Staff overstretched in reception area. They also had to lok after bars, resulting in long waits in both areas. Management conspicuous by their absence and annonimity

    We couldn't stay for another night.... But a lot of noise from under our room at 8 in the morning which was very annoying!

    Fresh fruit for breakfast would have been a bonus and double glazing. Even with the windows closed sleeping at the front of the hotel it was noisy due to the traffic

    It gave us a break from normal life. Everyone was friendly and the food was great

    no double glazing, so the noise from the road and people outside did keep us awake
