    Location good, most facilities fine, breakfast fine, staff friendly.

    Pool area should either be shut down or have money spent on it. It is small in all aspects with dirty looking water, greasy scum round edges of pool, paintwork needs re-doing and the whole area is dim, dingy and dirty looking. I think it is a detrement to the hotel to have to advertise it as a leisure facility. They would be better without it if there is no money to upgrade it.

    The room was clean with all the usual requirements of Coffee, T.V. Iron etc. The staff were proficient and pleasant.

    The restaurant closed earlier than published leaving one to eat in the public bar!

    good idea re giving the postcode for satnav parking. Reception very good and helpfull. Excellent breakfast and service.

    The room could have been cleaner, ie. a good vacuum and some furniture moved as very dirty/dusty underneath bedside cabinets and awkward corners.

    Staff were friendly and helpful

    Room a bit small, and on a noisy footpath (we were in an annexe). Though clean, the decor left a bit to be desired.

    Found your staff very good and very helpful and polite. Was so glad to get car parked in car park.

    Being coffee drinkers could have done with one or two more sachets in bedroom .... there again I should have just asked and I am sure we would have been given more.

    pleasant staff. great location. spacious room.

    breakfast wasnt too good. the decor was very dated/tired looking. the pool looked mucky.

    Although room was OK in the sense it was clean there was a distinct smell of sewage in the bedroom and also the water pipes/plumbing made a terrible racket which woke us up several times during the night.I didn't complain as we were only staying overnight.When checking out the receptionist didn't ask if everything had been ok.

    "The breakfast took an eternity to arrive on the Sunday morning. We were informed they had been a 'bit rushed'. After waiting patiently while everyone else got theres it seemed we had been forgotten then ours seemed to be rushed out quick. Unfortunately that meant mine was full of egg shell and my partners egg was raw, not what you expect when you have paid a decent amount for a room!! Oh and don't make too much noise, I think the walls are made of paper!!" (97245314)

    "Location very convenient for city centre business and shops. free parking in secure car park. Route to hotel by car a little confusing when don't know the city, due to pedestrianised area and one way system. Easy 5 min walk to railway station. Friendly town, nice atmosphere. Catherdral and tourist information centre 2 mins walk. Tullie House Museum and Carlisle Castle short walk away and both worth seeing." (97602612)

    Finding the parking wasn't that easy. The Swimming Pool/Jacuzzi facility needs some improvements.

    "Receptionists always seem to be answering phone calls, whilst they are efficient and friendly, it is difficult for them to cover front desk and answer the phone. Restaurant shut a little promptly (advertised as open until 21:30 but was already cleared away by that time) - only a problem because we were delayed in arriving at the hotel, however the bar tender was excellent and sorted out some food for us."     "We wanted a central base in the city and this was great, never needed the car. The half board was good value , with cooked breakfast included. It is fault finding that areas of the hotel needed decorating but if this was done it would probably be difficult to book." (97493610)

    Very central so left the car for whole stay. Loved old panelling in bar , generally a good atmosphere.Food was reallt good value.

    Altough our room was clean and tidy, there were areas of the hotel which need some decoration

    "Would have like to know that parking provision was chaotic. If I came to Carlisle by train I would definitely stay here again, if coming by car I'd try to find alternative parking." (97823907)

    Very central, comfortable beds, very good staff.

    Parking involved cramming as many cars as possible into the back lot which made getting in and out chaotic and the cars prone to scratching.

    The bed was comfortable, and the facilities at the hotel were excellent. The staff were all polite and helpful. The reception area found somewhere to put my husband's bicycle.

    The bathroom was inadequately stocked with shower gel, we had to order some. Some of the sockets did not work in the room.

    Convenient for Railway Station and city cente attractions.

    Room smaller than expected for 'luxury class', and lacking air conditioning. Labelling on TV remote control buttons was mainly illegible. Noise from boiler house.

    "The room was good value for money, especially in view of the inclusion of the a la carte evening meal as well as a good breakfast. Walking out of the hotel front door puts one straight onto the main pedestrianised area of the town, which I found a bonus. I enjoyed my stay and would come again." (97210933)

    Clean and functional

    The room was a little on the small side with only a view of the adjacent pitched roof and I felt overlooked by windows opposite on a higher elevation.

    "My overall view was that the hotel was good but aimed at predominatly at coach tour parties, it is quite difficult to access being in the middle of the town within a pedestrian area, access to the car park, and its location are quite difficult.     The beds were very comfortable. The restaurant was also very good.

    I do not like to have a wash hand basin in the room. I prefere it to be part of the bathroom. We also found it very hard to find the hotel when traveling by car.

    "Explected more from a deluxe room, especially after having stayed in various hotels over the past few months, which were much more value for money and more comfortable.     Located on town square---lots of shops and restaurants nearby.

    Parking was a hassle---had to leave keys with hotel so they could rearrange cars to get people out.
