    Friendly staff onsight parking

    room was noisy and bathroom had mould the hotel was tierd looking and felt in need of a good clean. We stayed in a family room.

    "Room we booked was a double refurbished room. We actually got a small room that was one of the smallest in the hotel, it could have done with updating and a bit of a clean, not worth £75 per night. Staff were helpful when this was pointed out to them and they moved us to a room in the courtyard which was more comfortable. Food was ok but nothing special." (107653431)

    Staff were helpful. Bed linen was clean.

    Rooms a bit tired and could do with updating and freshening up. Food very basic, not a four star in our opinion more like three.

    "Room looked tired,numerous scuff marks on the walls, bathroom flooring needed redoing. Carpets were not very clean, and there was lots of dust on the side of furniture. For these reasons I can not describe it as a comfortable stay where I could relax. Staff did respond promptly when informed of dirty carpets but after the room had been vacuumed it enhanced the smell of dust. " (108540508)

    Friendly staff

    No hot water. Extremely noisy at night time. TV loose on wall and no remote. Toilet loose and bathroom shelf falling off. Fire alarm went 6/05/09 at approx 6.30am - complete shambles! No member of staff available. No idea of number of people in hotel that should be accounted for. Emergency out of hours number 'temporarily unavailable'. Waited 60 mins with no sign of staff or Fire Brigade, with great trepidation we collected our belongings and left!!! Never to return.....

    "WE booked this hotel as we were travelling to Holyhead for a ferry crossing and needed an overnight stopping off point. This is an old hotel situated in the town centre and needs to be enjoyed as such. The facilities in the rooms are fine for an overnight stay. Good showers, kettles and comfortable beds. The old character of the hotel was very enjoyable. The food was reasonably priced and tasty, wine list limited but very reasonably priced. The old dining room was a throw back to bygone days of hotels and our kids loved it. The staff were helpful, warm and made the stay pleasurable. People have previously commented about the pub across the road. On a Summer Saturday night our kids had great fun watching the locals at play and preferred watching the pub to television! We would happily stay again if passing through." (108841836)

    Clean and tidy room, friendly staff

    Wonderfully helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere at breakfast. Good food and fine selection.

    Because we attended a concert as part of the Beaumaris festival, we arrived back at the hotel latish, only to find that someone else had used our parking area and there was nowhere left for us to park. Consequently we were wakened at 8-10am Bank holiday Sunday morning to move the car!! My husband, a man of almost 80years, moved the car for a young woman who was rude enough not to have even said Thank you. We almost wished we had ignored the call!!

    Large executive room (19) was surprisingly large with excellent facilitieas and tastefull decor throughout. Staff were very helpfull & friendly.

    Evening meal of Salmon was tasty but served with no additional vegetables to those in the sauce. Bar area was very roudy during early evening due to Sport being shown on TV.

    Food - excellent, can't fault it. Staff very friendly and helpful but appeared flustered on night of arrival due to the bar being so busy

    Mould on bathroom tiles, no 'feminine disposal bags' in bathroom, only one toilet roll to last two nights, no food available on arrival at 9pm despite being pre advised we'd be arrivinglate from S Wales - only 3 packets of crisps left in the bar.

    Staff very friendly,especially during dinner etc. Very helpful and pleasant. Room absolutely lovely, no complaints at all. Nice and clean all round.

    When we checked in the gentleman on the desk was on the phone but didn't make an attempt to tell us he wouldn't be a minute or to ask the person on the phone to hold - as it sounded like a personal call. Not very enthusiastic I thought - or maybe just very laid back! was ok though.

    Clean, nicely decorated room and bathroom. The hotel in general was well kept - clean and nicely decorated. Staff were friendly and helpful.

    Roadsweeper at 6.30am Saturdfay and Sunday morning cleaning the pathways. Did not go past just once but several times. The bar meal menu in the room was different to what was in the Restaurant, we were a bit disappointed with that.

    The room was clean, of a good size and reasonably equpped. The gentleman on the desk was very friendly and helpful and tried to mend the flat screen TV which was hanging loose on the wall.The cooked breakfast was lovely and well served.

    The few staff for the evening meal were too busy and service was slow so much so we only had a main course. The cold table for breakfast was only minimally stocked and only a few tables were available becuse some tables had already been set for lunch!

    "It was inconvenient when we came back to the hotel at 12.30am and we had to ring the mobile number in the window and then waited 5 min to be let back in. What if we did not take out a mobile, how would we have got back in as there was no phonebox nearby!!!!" (99532111)

    Sausage with the Welsh breakfast did not appear to be cooked. This was mentioned by 3 other people and not just us.

    staff courteous and helpful when needed. family friendly. good central location. breakfast arrived very quickly once ordered, and was not a greasy fried breakfast was very tasty indeed - although lack of choice for cereals and breads/toasts for a 4 star rated hotel.

    room was clean and spacious overall, recently decorated with new modern funky wallpaper and dramatic period paint colours which was nice - but when our little girl was playing on the floor she repeatedly picked up many long brown hairs, which were not ours!! the carpet visually appeared to be clean, but obviously was not!! otherwise room cleanliness was good, bathroom was clean and all linens and towels were nice and clean white and fluffy. for a large family room, thought it was odd that the room was right at the front of the hotel on a main road that was busy from around 5.30am till about midnight,(this road is a one way loop that all Llangefni traffic passes through on their way across town)lots of large vans and boy racers passing the window which proved difficult to keep our 2 year old asleep, although we do understand the traffic cannot be controlled by the hotel, perhaps better measures could be taken to sound proof the single glazed window or heavily line the curtains to damp down the noise.... we left this on our feedback form so hopefully they will take action!!! Bed was not at all comfortable - very hard and lumpy and was small for a double, so having 8 months pregnant wife in this bed was not ideal. Randomly someone started drilling and banging at 9.30pm, couldn't get through to reception on he rooms phone, but it did stop almost as soon as it started so i guess someone got a complaint in before us and thats why we couldn't reach reception!!!

    Nice setting, meals and staff good.

    Room very poorly ventilated. Admittedly it was in a hot spell but one window only opened and it was small. The fan provided was used throughout the night. Extractor fan in bathroom didn't work!

    "Also with us was our daughter and her partner and we had a brill stay. Checking in was a breeze, the rooms we were allocated when we first arrived were not suitable as we stated we wanted them together however there was no problem and were given rooms together in the courtyard. Our rooms were of a very high standard in cleanliness, space and comfort. The breakfast was great and it was no trouble when we each had different on all four days. The staff were very friendly and always had time for you and with a smile. The only problem we had was on the last night when someone new moved in next door and had a little too much to drink and were very noisy at 1.30am and then again at 6.15am, that we could not blame on the hotel or its staff. When checking out we were asked by the manager if we had enjoyed our stay and we said certainly except for our rowdy neighbours on the last night, he was so apologetic, we told him we did not blame him and it would not stop us visiting again. A GREAT TIME HAD BY ALL!!!!" (107173211)
