    "Very good value all round" (107739556)

    Staff very pleasant and friendly

    Not enough seating for drinking at the bar - we went back to our room! I also suspect that somebody was smoking on our floor during the night as it came into our room as we had the windows open - hence a draught.

    Nice location. Excellent reception staff - friendly and efficient. Convenient for reaching the centre of Manchester by tram.

    "What would have been a good overnight stay was tempered by the 'shabby' feel to the furnature/decor in the room. Some of the furnature looked 'home made'. I was dissapointed that the room did not live up to its 4 star billing. Public area's were of a much higher standard." (108409932)

    Reception, restaurant, bar area all met expectation for a 4 star hotel.

    Rooms/sheets etc. were clean but decor was very shabby more in keeping with a 2 star inner city hotel.

    Reception staff were very helpful.

    Staff at breakfast were unprepared and not very accomodating, also the kettle in the room was not working and there was debris in one of the drawers.

    Staff were very helpful and friendly, room was clean, and had appropriate facilities.

    The room we were allocated had a door adjacent to a meeting room which was not lockable, Despite moving some very heavy chairs in front of it, it still left us feeling a bit apprehensive. We paid separately for breakfast, there were only 2 staff on duty as far as we could see and one of those was a superviser/manager. So despite the two individual staffs best efforts, there was no way they were in a position to manage the requirements of the guests. We were waiting some time for a table to be prepared, and had to ask for tea/coffee four times before we were eventually served.

    easy access to old trafford

    The desk clerk was very unfriendly, the rooms were dingy and small. There was no air conditioning. The sink in the bathroom had 2 taps so you can't get a nice flow of warm water, it's hot from one tap and cold from the other.

    Luxury at a budget cost. Clean, comfortable room, well situated hotel with private parking, attractive views of the Quays, within easy reach of the city centre and with a wealth of attractions nearby

    friendly staff, light airy room

    Breakfast adequate but not fantastic. The bar had cashed up before 11pm, causing delays buying drinks. Many people gave up and just went to their rooms.

    "This is absolutely, categorically, 100% NOT a 4 star hotel! But it is reasonable, the online price I got was ok, the staff are very good and the location is ideal for Manchester Utd matches and some other attractions, and I would stay there again." (107414319)

    Friendly and helpful staff. Generally smart & clean hotel. Ideal location for Old Trafford.

    Rooms need sprucing up - desks, tables etc chipped, marked and very 2nd hand looking. Walls scuffed and marked. There were tiny spots of what looked like blood on the wall next to my bed! (Room 324). The receptionist who served me was wearing a stained uniform, shiny from age, with frayed cuffs - but she was very friendly and professional in her manner.

    Staff was very helpful and nice; recommended a great restaurant for my wife's birthday! Everything was very comfortable!

    The door was very hard to use our key on and we had to try it 9-10 times to get it to open

    the hotel staff especialy in the restaraunt both evening and breakfast were exceptionally courteous and friendly. the hotel staff in general were very helpful and polite.

    none, except for the people allowed to smoke in the entrance doorway, very offputting.

    Lovely location and perfect for our evening visit to the Lowry centre. Within walking distance to our evening venue.As we had travelled by train we thought the tram service to hotel was good. Comfortable bed,very relaxing decor.

    Continental breakfast at £7.50 a bit expensive.

    THE HOTEL WAS EXCELLENT AND CLEAN AND TIDY.

    STAFF DID NOT SEEM TO KNOW DISTANCE OF LOCAL VENUE, BREAKFAST WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE HOTEL PRICE I WAS DISAPOINTED WITH THIS.

    It was in a good location, near old trafford football and cricket grounds. Not far from trafford shopping centre. The room was clean, facilities provided were all in working order.

    Only saw one member of hotel staff for the two and a half days we were there. Confusion over payment with hotel staff. The room wasn't very air conditioned - got really hot at night time.

    Friendly staff. Nice food.

    Very tired rooms considering this had a 4* status. No aircon, rooms very warm and windows did not open wide.

    The reception staff made us feel welcome and were very helpfull. The room was clean and very comfy. The hotel has a large secure car park and the tram stops just over the road form the hotel a return trip was £2.20 so not worth driving in to Manchester, just a tip if you are using the trams you need coins the machine does not take note.

    We arrived back at the hotel just after 11pm, we went to the bar for a drink the fosters lager had run out at the bar man refused to change the barrel as he did not have the keys for the cellar, so we ordered gin & tonics, he had no gin so had to go to the cellar to get another bottle but he still did not change the barrel!!!! Had he had the fosters on we would have spent more than we did in the hotel bar, however we wend upstairs to bed and opened a bottle of red wine that we were taking to our friends the next day.

    There was no hot water in the shower. We brought it to your attention, someone claimed to have fixed it but hadn't. The Night Manager's response was "Oh dear. Well, if you need a hot shower in the morning I'll see if I can get you one in another room." This is completely ridiculous in a supposedly 4* hotel.

    very clean room which smelt beautiful when we entered.

    breakfast was very expensive could have done with more tea and coffee etc.
