    "We were in the Four Poster room, Henry VIII and the facilities were just adequate. I had a problem keeping a bottle of water on my bedside table as the camber on the floor was fairly steep - old hotel." (108516786)

    AS we were the only guests that night when we arrived the manager located us as there didn't seem to be a check in desk

    Breakfast to be finished by 9:00 a.m. and had to leave the hotel by 10:30 A.M.

    Warm, cosy, friendly hotel with open fire at the bar. Lovely Gothic features and fun rooms.

    Bad television reception and no batteries in remote.

    if it were not for the staff, who is actually looking after the place? The youngsters who are working there did not seem to be properly supervised or managed

    Room poor - broken headboard,broken radiator (room too hot), window had no lock, handles missing on furniture, no remote for tv. Room generally shabby

    Staff very helpful & friendly.

    Parking - not enough for the hotel but room was found for me to park my car.

    Age and character of hotel. Public carpark to rear of hotel. Central location

    Minor attention to decor needed on staircases, missing soap tray in shower, no glasses available in room, not a real problem

    Friendly staff - good beer - centre of town - well cooked breakfast- close to car park

    Poor cleaning - no hair dryer - uncomfortable bed no extra blanket - over worked staff - no telephone to contact poorly available reception - not much choice for breakfast.

    "The establishment has the history and ambience of an historic coaching inn and if you want olde world, rustic charm with no frills this is it. The 4 poster has to be done but the price is a little over the top. I would recommend a short stay as part of the 'medieval adventure'." (107265155)

    Staff friendly but under resourced. Food good and central location

    Curtains did not close and did not cover the extent of the windows anyway. Limited allocated parking but adjacent paid parking. No hair dryer for the ladies

    not allowed in room until 2pm out by 10.30 room could of been cleaner rubbish under put up bed.

    Was convenient to workshop I was attending. Did have coffee & tea set up downstairs in the morning along with dry cereal & fruit. Good location to Abby & shopping/eating areas of town. Bus stop close by.

    No clock or radio in room & could not figure out how to use TV. Room was above outside bar seating area & was noisy at night.

    Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was exactly what I wanted/needed. Supper was very good. Ambience was just right for Glastonbury.

    It was a bit hard to get hold of anyone in the morning. Breakfast ran a few minutes late.

    History of place, good position

    Not much customer care, breakfast a bit mean and people waiting for a while not knowing where to sit or what the procedure was to obtain tea coffee etc

    "Because we only stayed one night it was ok apart from the breakfast.The hotel needs a lot of money spent on it.The bathroom is old 70s or 80s every thing is rusty and badly fitted.We did not fancy using the shower for possible safety reasons.The bedroom was quirky but in a good way.The bar was really nice, big log fire.very cosy.     eveing meal was cooked by the chef and was good. Helpful friendly staff,position of hotel,

    Some of the breakfast was inedible.Every guest in the room left the beans which were hard,The sausages tasteless and burnt black and the mushrooms looked like they were over cooked in the microwave.The brown sauce which read hp on it, came out of the bottle like water .We all decided the sauce was not hp ,but had been decanted into the hp bottle.The breakfast cook was the manageress .In the bedroom the Curtains were hanging on one hook.Window would not shut so was cold in the night.Was a bit worried with the mental bars across the window.If there was a fire and you got stuck in there you would be trapped.

    Staff were excellent, home cooked food, a real laugh. Didn't see any ghosts, but i really can't fault the place.

    Good & Clean standard of room. Staff very friendly and helpful - Ate in the bar the night we arrived and the choice was excellant as was the food which arrived quickly and well presented. Breakfast was also very good although missing several things from the menu after only 1/2 hour of breakfast service began but plenty of choices for cereals, yogurts, freah juice!

    Slightly put out that when we arrived for breakfast at 9am (set at between 8.30 - 9.30am)we were told they had run out of the mushrooms and hash browns so we got a much smaller cooked breakfast. But what we had was very nice and the waitress was lovely! Coffee was cold! Parking a bit of an issue but public car park immediatly to the rear was only £3 for the day.

    "I think the cost was a little high given current market conditions however we would thoroughly recommend the George and Pilgrims and an interestesing, unusual hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms - which given the age of the premises must be quite labour intensive to achieve."     lovely characterful rooms. staff were very welcoming and made our evening thoroughly pleasant.

    we particularily booked this hotel because previous stays meant open fires were being burnt. We were disappointed this was no longer the case even though the fires and logs remain.

    Fascinating building - which was why we chose it.

    No food available the night we stayed, but staff were helpful in telling us where we could go out and eat. Breakfast was not well done - there was only one man, who both cooked and served, and he wore a rather grubby jacket and was a bit slow and forgot part of our order. One extra staff member on service would have helped.

    Good atmosphere that summed up Glastonbury's rich diversity. The food was excellent. Friendly new managers.

    Needed water in the rooms and the hairdryer fixed to a 14 century wall was a bit awful! The shower was a bit lifeless.
