    Nice surroundings

    We had to have a disabled room as it was the only one left. Very good for disabled but a bit restrictive for able bodied.

    "We booked the last available room -- a wheelchair accessible room. The furnishings, accordingly, were very low. I'm sure the hotel was complying with regulations, so I can't fault them, but the room was not that convenient for my 6 foot 4 inch tall husband. The room was clean and attractive but I wouldn't want to book that room again. We did have a great view." (97658915)

    "There was a warm, friendly welcome and a comfortable, clean uncluttered environment. The accommodation was well decorated, fresh, spacious and clean. The owners/proprietors had paid attention to detail, e.g. fresh towels, refreshment facilities in the room, hair dryer, reading lights, a choice of breakfasts, good tableware. The gardens were neat and tidy and the hotel was in a good location, with lovely views of the surrounding countryside situated 15mins walk from the town." (97552993)

    The accommodation was in goood decorative order, clean, comfortable, spacious and airy. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was crisp and clean. There was good storage space to put clothes and personal items away. Drawers were clean and fresh. There was good lighting for reading and a television in the room. There were tea and coffee making facilities with thoughtful touches, e.g. biscuits, sweets. A hair dryer was provided. The bathroom was modern fresh and clean. There was a bath and an efficient power shower. Good quality towels were replaced daily. The owner/proprietors were approachable and interested in providing a good service. The breakfast provided a good choice and was very tasty. The carpets were clean and there were sensible floor tiles in some public areas which meant muddy walking boots could be removed at the front door. The hotel had good views of the surrounding countryside and was 15 mins walk from the town.

    Nothing. The hotel is on a fairly busy main road but there was no noise from traffic at night and we were able to walk into the town via an alternative route at the back of the hotel.

    Friendly staff, nice views

    Ceiling paper thin , we could hear every footstep (and use of the toilet)of above us. Breakfast uninspiring.Lots of negative signs everywhere.

    "This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at in recent times - and I stay in a lot of hotels. If you are fed up with the standard business hotel then try this. Service was friendly, food was excellent and the room was beautifully furnished with a view to hills opposite. Also excellent value. I was there as a business traveller but the hotel would be great for a walking holiday. Can't be faulted and I would go out of my way to stay again." (99127999)

    I played the grand piano in the bar and top E flat is slightly out of tune.

    We stayed in a superior double room and it was beautiful, the bed was possibly the comfiest hotel bed i have ever slept in, and the en suite bathroom was luxurious. The whole hotel had a lovely atmosphere, was very clean and the food was excellent.

    "All in all, the stay was fine. Rooms modern and clean and the food, exceptional. The only thing I would say is that for the couple of days we stayed there, the hotel lacked 'atmosphere'.     My wife and I were totally delighted with the luxuriness of our room, the quality of the food, the friendliness of the owner and staff, and the location and view. Also pleased that there is no smoking on the property.

    Nicely situated on the road into Llangollen. Warm welcome from proprietor on arrival, and the room was very comfortable and clean with everything i should need - lovely large bathroom, television, tea & coffee facilities etc.

    There was nothing really to dislike about the accommodation - if I had to pick holes, I'd say that I had to wait quite a long time to be served at breakfast time - with the empty tables being replenished with butter & jam, before I'd received any..... but with a long drive home, I was eager for a quick get away, which may have made me a little impatient. Also, the earliest breakfast served was at 8am, which for a business traveller can be a little late at times. Also, there was no provision of room service, which might have been useful as I arrived back too late for dinner.

    "Room was very large with queen sized bed. Very clean. There was a problem with the hot water system and it never got really hot - warm at best. Dinner was fine and reasonably priced. In the end, the stay was pleasant enough but I feel at 120 UKl per nite, it is over priced and not a good value for the money spent." (3304561733)

    "When we arrived we instantly felt welcomed. The room was inviting,very clean and airy.There was a wedding on the Saturday we were there so the staff were very busy but that did not reflect in how we were looked after.The food was delicious and of a high standard and tne chef was very friendly as were all the waiting staff.The owner was welcoming and very friendly.     "The room we stayed in was what we would describe as a posh B&B rather than a hotel room of 4 star quality that we have stayed in before. Bathroom very good. Restuarant service very good and food very good. Generally the service was very good and pleasant staff. We would recommend this hotel to a friend based on the above points being considered."     Breakfast and restuarant meals where very good. The bathroom was very good and well presented.

    We where above the kitchen and could here the dishes being washed and staff talking etc. Also, changing the beer barrels between 8-10pm was noisy on the first night!!

    "I was very happy with the overall standard of the hotel. It was very smart and clean with made it a very comfortable stay. The staff were extremely frindly and helpful on all ocassions. The hotel was very conveniently situated. I was very impressed with the standard of the food available in the restaurant. There was great selection of food available at breakfast time. It was very nice to find a completely non smoking hotel which was real bonus for us. That was one of the main reasons for booking the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone."     The Hotel was very smart and newly refurbished. The furniture provided in the room and the fittings were of a very good standard.

    Lack of some facilities which I would have liked: There wasn't Sky/Cable TV available. (Only 4 main channels provided). The size of the TV was small. There was no mini bar available but the main bar was available to residents until 12pm. No internet access available. Would have liked a larger selection of drinks available in the bar eg. Foreign beers, bottled real ale and cocktails.

    "Most rooms, including the one I stayed in, face a heavily traveled and noisy road. The gentleman who handled reception would not provide information on local pubs as he did not participate in them. The room was very hot. Even without AC, a small fan would have helped.     "FANTASTIC! We booked a couple of nights, just to get away for a break. I looked for a hotel with a room to accommodate my wheelchair, it was totally what we were looking for! The hotel was in a gorgeous location, very beautiful. As for the hotel itself, it was lovely. Very tidy/clean, it was very nicely decorated. Our room, the restaurant and TV room all had fantastic views of the valley. The staff were all brilliant, all very friendly and helpful. Thank you! Would love to go back in the summer as well.
