    The intire hotel was excellent once you learnt how to get to your room!!!! Helpful & friendly staff...Food first rate!

    Breakfast was very good with lovely views.

    The fabric of the room and certain parts of the hotel was very worn and dated.

    Nice Hotel, with great views across the lake.

    Bedroom window ill fitting allowing traffic noise into the room. Shower screen not fitted properly causing water to leak onto floor and making it slippery.

    Lovely location, perfect view of Lake. Nice food, friendly staff.

    Swimming pool could do with temp turning up. Room was very nicely furnished/cleaned, but wallpaper was peeling in places.

    Has a view of lake windermere but many other hotels have a similar view and I would certainly find other accomodation when I stay in the Lakes in future

    extremely expensive for such poor accomodation

    "This was an excellent hotel- very romantic with a great view. The food was great- even the bar snacks! The staff were very helpful and polite. The room was very nice- so was the whirlpool bath!- a nice suprise! The leisure factlities could do with been updated- maybe a jacuzzi? Overall 9 out of 10" (97360255)

    The fact we were upgraded, coffee on arrival, the view, the staff were excellent

    There should have been a sauna (this was stipulated when we booked) Also the swimming pool could have done with been a bit hotter- other guests said this too.

    Not much

    There were handles missing off the bedroom furniture and the v was not tuned in properly. was not very good value for money.

    nothing really, my daughter couldn't get into the bed as it was too tall but just a minor thing really.

    we found the accommodation to be very welcoming, clean and relaxing, everything within the hotel was just what we needed and the scenery from the balcony was breathtaking

    Its location is excellent; kept very clean and extremely helpful staff; excellent breakfast and food at restaurant.

    Room occupants next door were rather noisy with loud TV on at midnight.

    "On the whole i thought it proved good value for money, considering the general quality of the hotel, and it's location. I think the hotel could offer a greater variety of meals from the bar, as opposed to dining in the restaurant from the set menu - which starts at " (99628691)

    The setting was maarvellous, close to Bowness and on the shore of the Lake. After a long drive, it was also great to find a pool within the hotel, even though a working sauna would have been great!

    Poor information in the room, had to ask about pool etc. Not great changing facilities and the Sauna was not in operation. The menu for a reasonbly priced bar meal finished at 18.30, which is rather inflexible. Romos rather dated, very small TV.

    "It was easy to book on the internet. We had a upgraded room. Everything worked and the view was amazing. The hotel was quiet at night. The (free)car park was excellent. Highly recommended." (99385724)

    The hotel gave us a free upgrade to a room with a panaoramic view of Windermere. It made a great hotel into a brilliant one. All good.

    "This is a nice, well run hotel, with friendly helpful staff and great, though pricey, food. I had a standard room so I wasn't expecting a great view, however I found that whilst I couldn't really see the lake, there was a fine view of the hills, which could be enjoyed from the decking outside the room. The bar/lounge was lovely, you can watch the sun set over the hills and relax. The room itself was fine, clean and comfortable, though perhaps slightly on the small side (I was in a standard room). Overall, an excellent hotel, particularly if you want to stay somewhere away from the tourist scrum of Windermere or Bowness." (99632792)

    We paid the extra for a select room to ensure a view and it was spectacular. The Staff were v. friendly and notices encourage you to ask for extras (such as fresh milk, razors, etc) which were supplied happily and without extra cost.

    Hotel decor was showing its age but it was clean and tidy. Corridors were a bit warren-like. Car park filled up even in March!

    "I would like to say first of all that the staff and the service that we received where excellent.They could not do enough for you anything you asked for was there within minutes.The few dislkes were only minor irritations.To be honest when searching the net for somewhere to stay the first thing i looked for was to can i enjoy a cigarette ? and just clicked off as soon as i saw the words non smoking.I was a little disappointed when we got a no smoking room but we where warned that it may not be possible.Never mind it still did not stop us enjoying our stay.marks out of ten 9" (3305506327)

    It was clean and smart and the bed was very comfortable.The bathroom was spotless.

    The staff were very friendly and efficient,the rooms were generally clean and comfortable.

    I was unable to open windows for ventilation as the only window was the large patio door.

    food was not to a standard expected for a hoel of this class although it was self service, breakfast on both days was cold Bar meals are restricted and can not be ordered after 18:30. this i feel forces residents to eat in the restruarant, this over does not cater for peop;e not wanting a big meal.

    "We had a lovely stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Lake District. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a nice surprise on our arrival as we were given a free upgrade. I have no idea what sort of room we would have been in, but the one we ended up in made it a fantstic short break. If I had to find something negative to say it would be the noise factor - some children children were running up and down the corridor on both nights and they were obviously later to bed than us, so it made it rather difficult to get to sleep. The walls also appear to be quite thin as we were awakened with a fellow guest's TV at 5.45am on the Monday morning." (3304714940)

    The breathtaking view - wow. The 4 poster bed was sheer luxury and the size of the room made our stay very comfortable. We wished we had booked for longer.

    THE VIEWS OF WINDERMERE ARE STUNNING FROM THIS HOTEL. SO PEACEFUL, SO QUIET. HOTEL IS VERY CLEAN AND THE SERVICE WAS SUPERB

    "The Hotel has a lot to offer but is let down on some minor details. The main one being eating in. The menu was basically a choice between 2 set meal options (3 courses). Both of which were relatively expensive and the food itself was adequate but certainly nothing special. There are however a number of restaurants in Bowness and Windemere which are easy to get to in the car. Other than that, the Hotel was very comfortable and relaxing. Well worth a visit."     The location and views are great, staff both pleasant and helpful. Swimming pool area was well presented and clean.

    Carpets within the room were well past their best and the balcony area in need redecoration. Restaurant menu limited (especially for kids) and expensive.

    "I really need a quiet room when travelling and visiting clients so the lack of noise insulation affected my performance the next day and I was actually too tired to drive home after my day's work. I would recommend the hotel but advise people to stay in different rooms. The staff were fine expecially the receptionist who was very helpful." (3304565510)

    Location and views. Lounge areas good. Outside a bit tacky right now.

    My room 24 was smelly (damp or an excessive use of shake & vac) so much so that my wife noticed it on my cloths when I got home. The rooms on that level have very poor noise insulation and I was kept awake by both neighbours who were less than considerate.

    "The hotel has a welcoming atmosphere which is due to the tastefull decore and the very friendly and helpfull staff. It is in a perfect location overlooking Windermere with great views from where ever you are in the hotel. We found the food excellent, and although it may seem expensive, it isn't. The quality is exceptional. We enjoyed our stay very much and will book again." (3304388435)

    The select double room that we had was very comfortable, clean and had great views of the lake. The facilities in the room were also very good.

    As a disabled person I think the stay could have been made even better if the hotel catered better for wheelchairs, but I did know the situation before I booked.

    The men was fairly restricted and in my opinion over priced for the quakity if the food served. In future I would sleep there bed and breakfast and go out of the hotel for an evening meal. The service in the restaurant was quite slow. The hotel overall is good but is not suitable for people with a diasability due to the number of stairs and hilly location.
