    Staff were friendly and efficient.

    Light in bathroom wasn't working, but this was repaired very quickly. General decor of rooms was tatty, cleanliness could have been better. In the leisure club -No hooks to hang towel outside sauna & steam room. Cold shower wasn't working in the main swimming area. Changing facilities were poor - particularly not enough changing cubicles and the seats in these have obviously been designed to tip your clean clothes onto the wet floor for the unwary!

    Good facilities.

    Room was in need of decoration. Furniture in need of replacement i.e paint / varnish flaking off. Valve to switch bath to shower head jammed so had to use bath.

    staff friendly and efficient, food was pepared to a good standard. Price for one night was competative.

    room smelt strongly of cigarette smoke, however since I did not request a non smoking room,I felt it inapropiate to complain. The room was generally a bit tired but very clean.

    The fish in the restaurant was good

    The room was very basic, bedding worn out, bed old and very uncomfortable, bedroom door had obviously been broken into and there was a basic repair of an extra piece of wood over the lock, refreshments were only sufficient for one person, curtains and lamp stained. Staff non existent in both bars, had to go hunting for someone. Breakfast was appalling with luke warm dried up cooked food, dirty plates and very little on offer.

    Food, service and general accomodation was good.

    My wife is disabled and to get from our ground floor room to the main part of the hotel was difficult because of a rather steep staicase , so we had to come out of our room and drive round to the main door to access the restaurant and reception area easily. Very poor facilities for the disabled.

    The staff were very nice and helpful

    Nice hotel, however think it could do with some upgrading. When we checked in to the hotel there was no record of our booking at all, I had origianlly booked 2 rooms and the cancelled one. However, there was no record of any booking being made at all. This turned out to be fine as the hotel was not fully booked, but if it had been we would have had no room at all.

    "Well booked room on line got confirmation but on arrival at hotel there was no sign on the computer of our booking. Also when we wanted a room extension we were told we had to pay the full rate for another night. Never been in a hotel where they charge the full price for a room extension, would suggest you charge hourly for that. Would have liked more information on the leisure facilities and use of them."     The accommodation in the Executive room was excellent very spacious and very clean and tidy. The room was also very quiet and relaxing.

    "This is the third occassion we have stayed at the Waterside in the last few weeks, from the outset they were considerate to our needs( late check out and groundfloor twin for elderly parents) The hotel is warm and comfortable and although the reason for our visits was not entirely holiday we are now considering a few days break there. The restaurant is beautiful and the food good and well cooked with a huge selection of dishes. Each time we go the standard is the same both in accommodation and restaurant, because I am a hotelier I am often somewhat critical of where we stay , but this is not the case at Waterside" (97210222)

    "This hotel does not have to tout for business as it is always full due to a lack of hotels in the area. This is very apparent in lack of interest/experience in restaurant staff and overall attention to detail generally. However it shoul dbe noted that reception staff are helpful and efficeint."     Poor service in restaurant. Had a executive room and no toiletries appeared until the third day of my stay.

    "I was extremely impressed by the courteous nature of all of the staff. They were genuinely helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Their attitude was reflected by the duty mamager next morning. Whilst having coffee in the lounge I noticed him outside clipping a hedge which was overgrown and against the window. He even managed to do it without cutting his tie off! Good for him and his staff. I will definitely visit the hotel again." (97014281)

    Large and spacious room, very well appointed.

    The room was quite a long way from reception, but not really a problem.

    Size of room and breakfast were good

    Bathroom was dirty and tired, comfort of bed was dreadful. We ended up sleeping on the floor.

    It was cheap, and handy to where I wanted to be

    Rooms were a bit tatty no rooms for 4 or rooms interconnecting doors for families.
