    "Best bits were pool and jacuzzi" (107318446)

    it was my partners birthday so we decided a nice chill out stay and swim would be ideal. so this hotel was perfect for a nice clean pool and jacuzzi was fab, buts all it was good for!

    the rooms were very disappointing. old decor horrible wallpaper, the bed was very lumpy and uncomfortable. we found out later were on the 'old side' and 'new side' was alot more inviting and alot different in decor. this room had no air conditioning and was a very hot day. we were located at the back of hotel were no breeze could get through our windows. we walked out to accidently find the 'new side' and the difference was huge. i know see why the room we were given was so cheap for Ramada! we did check-out early about 7pm theres was no point staying there we would definately not have had any sleep in those beds.

    the room was terrible - heating didn't work and there were no drawers to put clothes in and only 3 hangers.

    The room was nice and large, the staff were friendly

    The room smelt a little bit, he check-in was a little slow and check-out was so slow i just left room card in the end.

    Convienient for our destination Easy to find Quiet/relaxing with good facilities/pool/sauna

    Remote for TV not working and no-one came to sort it out,we had to go to reception after several hrs waiting in our room. Strong smell of drains in the bathroom,which was not pleasant. Room was cold with no extra blankets available and only a thin duvet on the bed Only one set of towels laid out,I had to ring reception to ask for another set

    Door to room was broken, had to walk back to reception given new key only to find out it was the door that was faulty. Very long walk from reception to rooms. Room was dirty.

    "I would not choose to eat dinner at the hotel but that was the only negative - the staff were the most efficient and friendly of any of the hotels I have stayed in this year." (107629729)

    the staff were extremely helpful and friendly; the breakfast buffet was kept well stocked and the variety was very good; the bar provided an very pleasant environment to have a nightcap

    We dined at the hotel with a relative the night we arrived but the quality of the food was very very poor - the vegetables were thrown on the plate, the meat was tough and tasteless

    Excellant value for money. Good breakfast and great leisure facilities.

    No slip mats in bath meant husband had nasty fall and damaged Knee. We pointed out to hotel that this should be remedied with slip mats in all bathrooms as an elderley person would have suffered much more severe injuries. A notice at the end of the bath seen after the event advises that they can be requested. Also we were initially given a smoking room despite requesting non smoking. We were then given what we were told was the last non smoking room. As you can appreciate the smell to non smokers was awful and our collegues who travelled with us were not so lucky as they had to put up with a smoking room. If a non smoking room is not available the customer should be told so that they can make the choice for themselves as to whether to stay at that hotel or choose an alternative.

    unfortunatly when we arrived the room was not booked for us, lucky they had a spare room and let me have it for the price you quoted. i had to pay when i arrived and have not checked my statement to see if i have paid twice.

    Even though could not find us on booking, due to wrong name, said had rooms available.

    Thecheck in had wrong name, the bed was the worst bed i have ever slept in, so bad I had to get up in the middle of the night and sleep on floor on duvet, had bad back for two days. the food was pretty awful, not as described on the menu. Ordered drinks one drink had to be returned because the glass was dirty and the lager had obviously been in the lines for some time as it was stale. Had to argue with a waitress who could hardly speak english after she brought the drink back to state we were wrong in saying there was something wrong with it, even though it smelled awful. The sauce bottles in the morning were so dirty had to ask for them to be washed to use them. We as a company book out whole hotels in excess of 200 rooms for large outdoor events we organise and run, this experience has put me off ever approaching a ramada hotel for not only myself, my team and guests to stay

    Food and service from staff was very good. Room was clean.

    Bed was too firm to the point of being uncomfortable. We could only make one cup of tea as only two tea bags supplied. One light over the basin in the bathroom was not working properly so made shaving/make up difficult. En suite was too small, found it cramped.

    "All staff were welcoming. Beds and bathroom were clean, but carpets dirty. Stifling heat, we could not turn the radiators off in either room. Swimming pool area was a bit tired and grubby and really strong chlorine fumes, not really a nice place to sit and relax. The hotel is conveniently located on the A41. Nice garden bar area. Breakfast buffet was well cooked and sufficient choice of items." (97933461)

    "The first problem was that they would not recognise the Active Hotel and did not have available the room selection (non smoking double). After a fuss they upgraded to a sMOKING eXECUTIVE dOUBLE BUT REFUSED TO HONOUR THE CONFIRMED RATE. tHE sTAFF WERE WORKING HARD ALL EVENING AND WERE VERY HELPFUL. The following morning I developed back pain which has stayed for 5 nights. I put it down to the condition of the bed. This was a shame as the staff deserve better" (97018551)

    Staff were helpful and accommodating.

    First room we were put in was a lovely size for a family stay but unfortunately had a damp, musty and pungent smell that we were unable to put up with. I do not believe that your online booking system caters sufficiently for Families. In as much as a family does not just consist of 2 adults & 1 child. A family room at any hotel should be able to adequately accommodate at least 2 adults & 2 children; a double room simply is not good enough; that is why we cancelled the first booking.

    Very good service, one of the breakfast staff spent a lot of time playing with our 2-year old. Nice leisure suite.

    Disco on saturday night till midnight. The hotel was extremely noisy until about 3am. We complained the next morning and got 2 free breakfasts!

    "The fire alarm went off, we were in bed but we vacated the room as quickly as possible, there was no one outside, when we queried this staff on duty just said it was a mistake that the fire alarm went off and laughed at us standing there in our night clothes and coat! When I told the girl I didn't think it was very funny standing outside in the rain, and surely if the fire alarm went off they should stick to the drill, or at least send a member of staff outside for the people who have! iI was then that she appologised, I don't call this good customer service."     "All the staff were very helpful and courteous - nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was very good and the food fresh, not like at some hotels when the buffet has been out for too long and becomes over cooked and dry. We would definately return to this Ramada hotel if staying in this area again and will try other Ramadas round the world." (97718078)

    Would have been better if the hotel had a lift to the 3rd floor.

    sat on a stool in the bar that had been soaked in beer, so had to wash my jeans but that could happen anywhere. everything else great.

    Nowhere for a quiet drink. Blasting disco music in the bar .. with just two 8 yr old girls dancing. Not even possible to escape it in the garden as the doors were open. Spoilt the evening.

    "the public spaces are clean and well furnished in an eighties contemporary style. the staff, although amateurish are very enthusiastic and helpful. when you get into the corridors the hotel shows its age badly and the room was woeful EXCEPT that it was large. the bathroom was also large but rather shoddy."
