    outside looks good,that's where it ends

    sheet too small for the bed,carpets filthy,mattress filthy,night staff useless,we had a noise problem with room below us,staff did nothing,i had to go down to the room and ask the guest to lower the volume.

    Great value for money. Clean and safe. Walking distance to town. Very mannerly owner.

    Missed breakfast in morning as 8am to 9am too early for a Sunday.

    The owners were friendly. The kitchen staff not so.

    Basement smelt damp, poor breakfast choice. Place needs an overhall.

    rooms were clean

    rooms were not ready on arrival (about one hour after normal check in time.) No milk in tea making facilities in one room, only one towel in a double room. Shower ran either very hot or cold when others used water. No choice with cooked breakfast (take it or leave it!) Hanging space in one room was only big enough for small childs clothes. Reception un attended most of the time.

An outside telephone in the room would be an addition worth thinking about as it could probably be provided without too much cost for the hotel (but I'm guessing here, I don't know).     HANDY FOR OUR JOB WITH GOOD PARKING AND CLOSE TO TOWN CENTRE

    VERY POOR BREAKFAST (OVERCOOKED AND COLD).HOT AND COLD TAPS INCORRECTLY MARKED.TV PICTURE QUALITY AND COLOUR VERY POOR. HOTEL WAS NOISY DURING NIGHTIME AND KEPT ME AWAKE FOR MOST OF ONE NIGHT

    "Close to the railway station. Pleasant welcome. Quick check in. Rooms were well presented and clean. Bed was comfy and warm. Room had plenty of windows and ventilation. Shower was strong and hot. Breakfast was nice and presented quickly. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Plenty of shops nearby for sundries. Plenty of room to park (though I didn't drive). Lots of food establishments within 10 minutes walk." (99807553)

    Clean and well presented

    The sink in the bathroom was a little too small and had a soap dispenser on the wall in the middle of the sink which made washing your face/cleaning teeth etc a little difficult without banging your head. Room for hanging shirts/suits was limited in my room.

    "Not quite what were expecting for the cost.The hotel was clean & tidy but appeared to need a good programme of repair i.e.loose floor tiles in the shower room,toilet seat that wasn't fixed properly,headboards on beds not attached.The staff were polite & helpful." (99636175)

    "See aboveNot value for money at all. It made a Travel Lodge seem like a 5star hotel! There was nobody there when first arrived, that could speak English anyway. No toilet roll had to attempt translation again to get some. Phone line in room not working, Room not very clean. Roomextremely hot, understand with not being air-con anyway. Could go on. Breakfast finished at 8.30am when I didnt have to leave until 10am and was out working the night before. But really regretting staying, booked last minute not much available. Next time if I am in doubt I will definately opt for a Travel Inn. I usually do not like them, but They are clean and reliable" (99919400)

    "We found the room very clean and it was particularly nice having an en suite shower and toilet, the beds were very comfortable and the room was cleaned daily and beds made, and we were given clean towels daily. The only thing that was missing was a fridge to put water and fresh orange juice in so that we could have a cold drink when getting in at night and first thing in the morning,before we went down to breakfast, but that aside we found everything very satisfactory and would definately stay there again."     It was reasonably close to the town centre the rooms were spacious and clean and the breakfast was very good.

TV had only a few channels, bed was very uncomfortable, was charged one pound every time a telephone call was made regardless of connection, there are better B&B's available for the same price.     "The hotel itself wasn't bad, but is in quite a seedy part of town. The entrance hall looked dingy on checking in at night time, but was OK in the light. Breakfast room/breakfast both very nice. Overall it was fair value for money, but no chair in the room made it less comfortable than I would have liked." (3304444636)

    Put a chair in the room, put the TV lower down, and don't make guests write down their card number in full on arrival.

    Free Parking, quiet street, although in a not very nice area of town but at least there was no traffic noise. Bed was comfy.

    Meet and greet - It took ages for the door to be answered, I wasn't welcomed but just asked for my name by, without being rude, a spotty teenager dressed very scruffily. I was asked my name and then he scruuried off, I don't know where then came back and gave me the car without explaining where my room was in the hotel or which keys did what (ie front door, room key) he told me when breakfast was but not where and that was it! I didn't feel very welcome at all or informed at all. There is no reception as such and no indication where to find someone to speak to or even a bell to ring to get service. I wanted local information but wasn't able to find anyone to ask.

    spacious comfortable room.Good location and off road parking

    It would have been helpful to have written directions from M4 and station as we had no idea where we were going and took us a long time to find it

    Clean room and friendly staff. I stayed at the cressent hotel a week before; the Russel Hotel is a palace compared to the cressent hotel.

    Would be good to have at least freeview television. Currently only 5 channels available.
