    "The hotels are centrally situated for Royal Albert Hall, museums, restaurants and shops etc." (108981414)

    Although we were booked into the Gainsborough, they said this was full and so they transferred us to their sister hotel opposite called the Gallery which we found out to be better.

    The only point was that we had a separate air conditioining unit in the room which was really too large for the room and it was right next to the bed by the window. A smaller unit would be more suitable for that room.

    Quiet location. Small personal hotel.

    Bedroom was classed as "deluxe" twin. Can't see how a room could be more basic! Very small - only room for one bedside cabinet. Wardrobe was a little corridor off room. Cracked window,stained wallpaper. Took 45 minutes to get 2 icecreams from room service. " Well stocked bar" highly inadequate and was often locked and bar man had to come from Galleries across road.

    Could do with some secondary double glazing as noisy at night with traffic and nearby nightclub.

    Nice location, quiet community but close access to the tube, shopping and tourist attractions. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Exellent value for the price.

    Very good location for museums and Royal Albert Hall. Very quiet atmosphere. Plenty of restaurants in the area.

    Check in and check out process was fairly long and staff did not appear very confident of the processes. I had to remind them that breakfast was extra and they had forgotton to add it on the bill. Breakfast was very nice, but staff did not really keep the continental buffet stocked. It was mostly empty. My room was pleasant and clean but the glass in one window was broken and in need of repair.

    "The hotel looked nice from the outside and everything was neat and tidy in the lobby. Although the staff were polite there seemed a lack of hotel atmosphere, to be honest I thought I had walked into someones living room. There was a little room that was used as a bar area (if you can call it that)... The pictures in the hotel gallery must be of a different hotel, the bar was just bottles of beer in a fridge. The room was clean and tidy but was let down by the uncomfortable bed, the tv which kept changing the channel and the rather pathetic excuse for a shower. No tea & coffee facilities in the room. The room also had this massive air con unit which had a vent pipe stuck to the window so you couldnt really close the curtains properly. These are all things you wouldn't expect when paying " (3304641045)

    The hotel was within walking distance of plenty of bars & restaurants and the Royal Albert Hall.

    The cost, this hotel is well overpriced.

    "The hotel is in a superb location and is very elegant on first appearance. The rate that we paid was far more than most other hotels of a similar star rating, and the standard of room did not live up to deluxe double. When I discreetly mentioned to the receptionist the next day that some things needed to be rectified in the room she ignored me and carried on processing my bill. I actually had to ask her if she was ready to hear my complaint after she had taken my money, for which she asked me to fill out a feedback form. Overall a very nice location, and the hotel is generally very good, our room on this occasion let the trip down and we felt we had paid too much for what we got. We have submitted a formal complaint." (3304638284)

    It was very close to The Royal Albert Hall, and on first appearance seemed very elegant, it was quiet and the room booked was a deluxe double which should have been perfect.

    The windows in the room rattled so badly that we had to wedge them up with card to get some sleep.The bathroom was in a dirty condition upon arrival and the blind in the bathroom did not cover a clear glass window properley leaving you very exposed when using the loo and bath. !! The shower riser rail was broken and there was only powdered milk in the room.

    "The room I stayed in was very small, the bathroom only had space for a shower. The size of the room meant there was no space for a desk which meant working from the hotel room was not possible.     The hotel was clean and close to the tube.

    The room was tiny, the smallest room I have ever stayed in. The room service menu was very limited.

    The Hotel Gainsborough is a charming hotel with in a very good location. The staff is helpful and kind.

    The hotel has most everything right. For rooms facing the street there is quite a bit of noise when the club is in full swing. The bathroom is unheated (but the towel racks keep the towels warm). These are minor suggestions.

    The hotel has a night club in the basement! If you want to go to sleep before 4am at the weekend- forget it!!

    None really. I was able to get a discounted rate on my booking which made my stay there possible. It was a wonderful experience.

    The facilities in the room could be better (mattresses were not great), the concierge/receptionists could be better informed of London events, the lobby could be more inviting (cozier lighting or something).

    "Our room was lovely, clean and attractive. The dining room was very attractive and the breakfast was wonderful. All of the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The location is very good - convenient to a tube stop, two pubs and some nice restaurants.     Great location, pretty lobby and rooms, helpful staff and excellent value for the price.

    Our room was a litle noisy - we could hear the elevator and the people upstairs.

    Single DSL line in frequent use, rear rooms face noisy schoolyard, some inner rooms have no windows.
