    It was very friendly and clean, and even though we arrived late, we got a very friendly reception. we will definately use this hotel again

    really strugling to find a bad point, but would have liked the option of a full cooked breakfast at extra cost.

    Very nice room. Warm, comfortable and superbly clean. Friendly staff. Good location.

    Very poor breakfast. 'Continental breakfast' is a misnomer. A real continental breakfast has fresh rolls or croissants, not cold toast! Also, non-dairy alternatives such as soymilk should be offered as a matter of course as many people have dairy allergies.

    Very Helpful Lady who booked me in.

    Got back to Hotel about 10:30ish and the noise level from some people in the hotel went on till early hours, not very good when you have an early start. Bed wasn't very comfortable, stained, marked and ripped bedding. I booked a Wake up call, it came through but 50 minutes earlier than I had booked.

    "Very tired rooms. For a one night stay at the discounted rate it was reasonable, but definitely not worth the advertised £59. Continental breakfast only on Sundays." (108285411)

    Friendly staff. Bed comfortable and clean.

    Shower almost unusable, very poor flow and only lukewarm. Television unwatchable as aerial signal so bad. Broken drawers. Scuffed furniture.

    "Most of my time in the hotel was sleeping, getting clean, and eating breakfasts - perfectly OK and good value for money for that. I can't speak for families, etc, that might want more." (107559330)

    A good basic hotel - single room was a decent size and bathroom was clean. Due to the type of weekend this was I spent VERY little time in the hotel (sleeping only) but it had all I needed.

    Being a stranger to Reading a simple "You are here" type map in reception would have been useful for getting my bearings. Apart from being told the time for breakfast there was no information on facilities (I found the bath room by accident - my room only had shower). Not sure if 'continental breakfast only' was specified, but it caught me by surprise.

    It was brilliant to have free wireless broadband in the room, and I liked that there was a bath, rather than just a shower. Also the room was a really decent size, and it was nice to have breakfast included.

    The TV and broadband signals were both a bit intermittent, but I didn't really mind too much about that.

    We were a couple traveling with our 10-year-old grandson, and the hotel staff was quite accommodating towards him. The staff was very helpful in terms of directions to restaurants and car rental location--they printed out maps and verbal directions for us. Good Indian restaurants nearby.

    Very clean and comfortable - unusal to find such outstanding bath/shower facilities in a budget hotel with masses of hot water and very powerful showers. Just what I need.

    A small bunch of very noisy guests one night at 2.00 am but that can't be the hotel's fault!

    "Whilst the location of the hotel was convenient to the train station, overall I found it depressing ? thin walls (meaning that you could hear your neighbours whatever they were doing!), plastic sheets on the bed, out-of-date milk, advertised services being quite different to reality, lack of attention paid to cleaning..."     Covenient to Reading West Train Station

    Was harrassed by phone calls a week in advance of actually checking in to find out what time I would be arriving. The beds had plastic sheets on them, the rooms were cold and the majority of the long life milk for making tea in the room was well out of date. The public access computers on which you were supposed to be able to check your email, didn't work ? the staff were quick to say "oh we have two computers on which you can check your email" but far less quick to tell you that they didn't actually work! The cleaning staff kept removing towels from the room and not replacing them... Need I say more?

    Staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Front part of hotel well presented.

    Room in rear section not that great, a bit gloomy, but ok for a couple of nights.

    "booked for two weeks but due to unforseen circumstances only stayed one night. The Abbey charged me for the full two weeks even though it was cancelled two days before the first week and the second week because my father was taken ill and rushed to hospital I had to cancel the accommodation and they still charged me for the full week."     breackfast was bad because everything was done in a microwave. Evening meal consisted of fast food, beef burgers,chicken burgers or chiken nuggets and sausage rolls, that was very poor.

    Ruhige Lage, grosses Zimmer,

    Unfreundlicher Checkin, volle Bezahlung bei Checking verlangt, Keine Heizung im Bad, Ventilator extrem laut, was eine "Badheizung" durch offene Tuer unangenehm macht, Winzige Bar (1 Tisch, 3 Barhocker) im Fruehstuecksraum, sehr enger Parkplatz

    Acceptable cleanliness, flexibility was good regarding entry to the hotel.

    Not a full english breakfast, which was not notified to us until arrival, credit card details were provided on the internet then requested again
