    Lovely location. Near to many good sights. Food at the wedding was amazing, quite most delicious.

    Shower in our room, 5, was very unpredictable, hot and then cold!!!

    Made very welcome, everyone lovely and room clean and cosy

    Shower head holder didn't work so water just went straight down(great shower otherwise though), room quite chilly but fine under our many layers of bedding!!

    "Easy to find. I expect it is a lovely place in warmer times! Restaurant looks attractive but I did not eat there in the evening. No one about when I went to book in. Room attractively laid out but there was an extra (single) bed in the room and its duvet did not match the whole of the rest of the decor." (107560160)

    Breakfast was excellent and the manager/owner, very attentive. Clean room.

    Room a bit cold. Phone didn't work and Reception not always attended.

    Clean, tidy and good value for money. Excellent breakfast.

    Went to the bar one evening but staff then deserted it so only able to have one pint. A minor complaint yes.

    Very friendly, hospitable staff. Excellent breakfasts.

    Decoration in need of up-dating. The mattress on the bed needed renewing.Although a television was provided reception in one of the rooms was very poor;there was no text facility and no freeview or Sky. The text is important as some of our party have hearing difficulties.

    I only had to stay one night

    Bedroom was like your grannies front room. Heating turned off a 10.00 and room was freezing. Nobody at reception to complain.

    Plenty of room. Good facilities.

    "I stayed in this hotel last year and was pleased, this return visit did not disappoint me. The hotel is in a wonderful location and the individual service is worthy of a five star establishment. The food is superb and reasonably priced. The room I was given this time was not as good as in my previous stay, a spot of mold on the bathroom wall, a door lock that did not lock (repaired though within minutes). It is easy to be critical though of any hotel. This hotel has a pleasant quirkiness" (99372396)

    "The hotel web site quotes check in from 1300; we arrived around 1330 to find the hotel locked up and when we telephoned we got an answering machine. We had to wander round Wells for hours while the hotel opened. The hotel seems to be managed by a skeleton staff all of the time except breakfast. The hotel is in a lovely setting and the rooms and restaurant reception etcetera are quite nicely decorated. With a bit more effort this could really be a wonderful place." (99759467)

    "Litter outside the rooms. Restaurant not open and we were not told about this. Noisey with vehicles leaving late and arriving early on a gravel drive. Booklet on hotel way out of date. I would recommend the hotel as it is in a nice setting but I would tell the truth about the little things. Our accommodation was changed and were given the bridal suite but shaver light did not work, tiling in bathroom not finished and cobwebs just like the other room." (99534201)

    The bed was uncomfotable and in desperate need of a new matress. The room was very damp and smelt musty. Wallpaper was peeling off because of damp and a double glazing panel needed replacing. The whole atmosphere of the place was uninviting

    Friendly staff; superb cooking. Plentiful parking space. Courtyard and Dining room superb. Comfortable chairs in room.

    Room rather dark. Bedding somewhat inadequate - either a sheet or a very heavy duvet. A light blanket would have helped. Shower bracket needed replacing (Room 9)

    "On arrival we could not locate a member of staff and eventually found one in the kitchen who checked us in and said the restaurant was closed that night so you'll have to go out. The room had a broken TV so we were moved to another. The door could not be locked and the batteries from the fire detector were missing so we were moved to another room by the duty manager who was very apologetic. He was working at breakfast the following morning and was again very friendly. The hotel appeared very tired and uncared for e.g no toilet rolls in the public toilets, rubbish from the last guests in the wardrobe. This hotel could be very nice as it is in a very nice setting and has a lovely swimming pool but I wasn't keen on swimmimg as the hotel dog was swimming in it." (3305020450)

    "This hotel may not have room service and the other extras found in the four star hotels but it does give a relaxing stay in good rooms (the decor may not be to every ones taste).The rooms like the rest of the hotel are clean and well kept,the staff very helpfull and the large breakfast was excellent. The room I was given had a tradional Victorian feel but in a modern contempory fashion. Chaise lounge with cottage pine furniture?. My opinion of this hotel is excellent. Try it, it is different!"     The hotel could not be faulted on anything during my brief stay.

    Lovely setting. Beautiful pool. Good food and I was well provided for as a vegetarian.

    Sometimes hard to find a member of staff when I wanted a drink, cover taken off pool etc.

    There was nothing particular that i liked about this accomodation.

    The location was not good. Things such as my remote control for the T.V. did not work, and we had to wait a very long time to get the key's to our room.

    "Lovely stay. The hotel served its purpose very well. However, the cooked breakfast was pretty dreadfull. The bacon was possibly the cheapest on the market ( I am a chef,so I know!!) it was horribly salty. The eggs made me feel sick and the taste of the water was vile. if the tap water is not up to much they need to get a water filter or use bottle water. The breakfast was a shame, because that is an opportunity to really impress for little cost. It is a big mistake to scrimp and save on a couple of eggs and some bacon. Dont you think????? Bur overall the stay was very pleasant and the owner/staff was very helpfull and kind." (3304501095)

    "Breakfast was excellent. Man at the check in desk was a man of few words, basically just handing us a key and thrusting a form at us to complete - could do with a bit more customer service training! Rooms set in a pleasant courtyard, which made a change to the usual hotels. Once we had removed the creepy china doll, the room was fine, but a bit frilly and old fashioned. However, it was a pleasant place to stay for a night." (3304504227)

    rooms were a bit a a mis match of floral wallpaper and cutains and bedcovers. The dining room was fine for breakfast but not very secluded for evening dining

    "We checked in first but having been the couple booking the rooms I would have expected that if any of our two rooms was to be up graded it would have been ours, our room was perfectly fine but felt a bit let down when our friends who we had booked the room for received an upgrade when they checked in...and we just had a standard room.
