    "even though was not at hotel much as my mother was getting married so only slept there and ate breakfast really i really enjoyed my stay and would recomend to a friend and would stay there again in future " (108338443)

    rooms was so clean and really nice friendly helpful staff nothing i could complain about at all

    Good food. Very attentive hosts. Wonderful view. Clean and comfortable quarters. Close to shopping and ferries.

    No bad points at this hotel. Parking was sparse as it is in almost all Victorian hotels but made very practical by our hosts' good planning.

    The hotel was clean, lovely and the veiw from the hotel was lovey, the staff were very nice.

    Maybe just the size of the shower but this was not really a bad point

    this is deluxe room with sea view, the window did not open it said broken, the bed springs were coming through, the ensuite was in two cupboards.

    Hosts are very friendly

    Parking is limited to 3 bays which accommodate 6 cars only if you double up.

    "I would reccommend the St Ives to anyone, it was brilliant. We were made to feel so welcome. Do yourself a big favour, if you are going to spend time in Dunoon, spend it with Sandra and Matt at the St. Ives Hotel, you will not be disappointed." (97751745)

    Sandra and Matt were the ultimate hosts, when we arrived they upgraded our room at no extra cost because I didn't know the difference between a twin room and a double room. The food was excellent, the meals were served in an atmosphere of quiet sophistication with portions that were enough to satisfy my even my appetite. Sandra ant Matt also know Dunoon like I know the back of my hand, we were directed to an Indian Restuarant that served a curry as good as my favourite curry house in my home town of East Kilbride. On top of all of this I stupidly dropped a very treasured fountain pen without knowing where, it arrived at my hme a few days later, it had been found in the room we occupied in the St. Ives and returned to me at my home, padded in such a way that it was protected against the journey, above and beyond the service in my opinion, thanks Sandra and Matt.

    The only bad point was that we were not able to stay longer, we had an exceptionally relaxing time in the St. Ives Hotel.

    The view was excellent. Breakfast was lovely. Quick and easy access to city centre and public transportation.

    I would of liked it if it would of had a mini fridge to keep food or drinks cold.

    Friendly hotelier and wife. Comfortable room with built in shower and toilet facility, very quaint, thought it was a wardrobe at first. Beautiful view of the beach and the river clyde, I liked being right next to the beach with no traffic nearby just a private car park.

    The breakfast was wonderful apart from the greasy fried bread.

    "Hotel in nice locality although parking is very restricted. Breakfasts nicely prepared with plenty of choice although times very restricted. Breakfast was only served between 8-30am/9.00am whereas I think perhaps an hour would have been more realistic. Having said that the views from the hotel were excellent and Dunoon itself very picturesque. The owners were excellent hosts and very informative about the area." (99201619)

    Friendliness of owners and the food. Within easy walking distance of town centre.

    Rooms need updating as fittings and decor are a little tired. Would not have called our room 'deluxe' judging by other hotels I have stayed in.

    "We were staying there for work purposes and had to leave each morning at 7am therefore missing breakfast. We asked if it would bepossible to have just a roll in the morning at 7am and were told no problem. However the rolls were left out and extremely cold which we later discovered were because they were being made the night before and left out all night. On returning one evening at 10.30pm we found our rolls and bacon for next mornings breakfast already waiting for us!!!!!! Not brilliant service I think you will agree." (99901477)

    "Our stay here was wonderful. There was a special Scottish Night going on at one of the hotels down the street. It was lots of fun. The view from the hotel is beautiful. Very convenient for arriving on the ferry." (3305199854)

    "We stayed in the Delux double room (without sea view) this was very clean and comfortable, this included a hairdryer, tea/coffee facilities, bath and shower. Most amazing full breakfast. Friendly and obliging management; warm welcome throughout. Panoramic sea view from lounge and dining area. Management very knowlegable and helpful on local area and facilities.
