    "Ruined by total disregard to residents requirements." (108352221)

    Chose hotel due to available parking. Function on Saturday night meant no guest parking. 1 car park closed sign said closed for deliveries. Truth was it was closed so that a coach could park.

    Food was brilliant, and the service of it. Room was very comfortable and equipment very good eg. television.

    Power shower was very very powerful, to the point of giving a massage as well! I did in fact book up for twin beds as we were breaking the journey just for the night before traveling the remainder of journey to Scotland the next day and I really wanted a good nights sleep but we were given a double bed instead. As I had done the booking I had told my partner you only had twins left as I didn't want him to know so felt I couldn@t complain to the management about being given a double. Slept well anyway!

    "We did fill in a form and handed it to reception when we left. We wanted to say that we stopped in a Village hotel for the previos two nights in Newcastle and only got charged £39 per room per night without breakfast and for the price of £118 for one night with breakfast we thought we would have a far superior room and facilities, but this was not the case.The room was identical apart from yours did not have a bath. The Village pub was a proper pub not a glorified canteen as is the case with the Alexander pub.The leisure facilities at your hotel did not have a sauna or whirpool area and was under staffed and the pool water was too cold on the morning we used it. I realise your location in Kendal is more idylic but as in the Village hotel the location is misleading as both appear that they are in the town which neither are. We were on a small road trip around the north of Britain and stopped in 5 different hotels so altough we did not have a bad experience at your hotel we felt compelled to write this report and point out that for £118 we felt that this was not good value for money in comparison to other leading hotel chains.We also stopped in a Marriott Hollins Hall at Bradford the following night at £95 per room per night with breakfast and the rooms and facilities were far superior.Please consider these comments to be constructive rather than negative as on the whole it is a lovely hotel."     check in staff very pleasant and helpful. Room o.k nothing special, no bath, and with a view of the vetilation pipes on the swimming pool. Prices of drinks reasonable for a hotel.Breakfast very good.

    On the saturday morning the swimming pool was cold. Kettle was broken in the room and only 2 tea bags provided. Room by staircase so could hear people most of the time. The alarm clock went off a t 5.45 am, which we hadnt set or touched, and again at 6 am. We could not get a table for an hour at the pub room so went into town.

    Smooth check in. Good views. Restaurant and pub onsite. Room and Bathroom were clean.

    Curtains a little dirty. Lots of noise from steps and from above.

    "I booked this weekend break to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday along with our daughters and partners. We all had a wonderful time and we shall always remember this special birthday." (97476328)

    Efficient and friendly staff, cleanliness of all rooms, excellent choice of food in the restaurant and for breakfast. Very relaxing atmosphere. Enjoyed listening to the pianist in the restaurant.

    Not sufficient hot water when running a bath.

    The staff were very helpful and efficient. Most appeared to be local and knew the area well and were able to direct us to the walking destinations we were looking for. We were given copies of maps to assist us, which was appreciated.

    "The hotel was very good,although the leisure center was being renovated which was a disapointment(but we did know this before booking)The meals were excellent and the staff were first class. Overall a very good place to stay. Would book this hotel again" (97152050)

    The staff were excellent. Very helpful and friendly. The was a wide range of breakfast food, which was very nice, and regularly topped up by the chefs. Nice views to look out onto whilst easting your breakfast. Room was kept very tidy by the maids and fresh towels were provided every day.

    The furniture in the room was a little dated. The view from our room was not great as we were looking out onto a courtyard, rather than the views of the Lakes. The wadrobe cubicale needed some diy work done to it.

    The rooms were very well decorated, the bed was very comfy! We had an excellent view of Kendal with a balcony. The complimentary breakfast was absolutely delicious, even though it is slightly expensive it is definitely well worth it!

    The bathroom needed a bit of updating, paint peeling off the walls etc.

    It looked and felt like luxury at a reasonable price. The facilities & surrounding area around the hotel were excellent and we were spoilt for choice what to do next. We didnt see as much of the countryside as we had hoped because the hotel facilities eg: gym, swimmingpool, bar & restaurant & pub were so intising. We are definetly going to stay there again.

    "This a decent hotel - getting a garden view room is a MUST - the other 50% of rooms have a Car Park view ! Dinner in the restaurant is excellent - they have a great chef there - breakfast and other meals less good but still OK. Dress for the occasion - it is worth it, and hard on a top class chef when the guests turn up dressed like window cleaners. Rooms are closely packed together - open a window while next door guests are on their balcony and they could be in the room with you !" (3305281326)

    "In spite of some niggles, our experience was generally good. We would be happy to stay here again if we were in this area. I should have been told when booking that I needed to reserve a table if we wanted dinner. We had to go elsewhere. The sign pointing to reception applies to the able bodied only. It should be made clear at the entrance to the car park that disabled persons probably need to use the main entrance, which is at the rear, so not at all obvious to newcomers. The lift is not adjacent to the main entrance." (3305250303)

    Mainly clean and comfortable. Very good beds. Access for disabled but you need to make your requirements clear when booking.

    Shower too hot on lowest setting and not accessible to disabled person. Iron not working. No drinking water in room. Dirty marks on carpet.

    "I felt the hotel was easy to find, but wish I had known the walking distance to the town. There was plenty of parking space. The grounds were charming. Peaceful to walk around or and sit in. The reception staff were very welcoming and informative. The pool and gym area were popular and very clean. We dined at the pub in the grounds.The food was varied, well presented and the waiting time was well within the time given. Good choice of wine. The breakfast was delicious. Plenty of variety of juices and water, fruits , cereal, and with healthy options or belt busting full English." (3305006498)
