    As value for money, the Carlton was very good indeed. The proprietor met any requests we made and the dining staff were efficient.

    Nothing was bad. We had to wait for a table one morning, as did others. The en suite was very tiny but quite adequate. towels and linen were clean, as was the hotel generally.

    Carlton Hotel is a good bargain and is located on a busy bus route which means a person doesn't wait very long, usually, for a bus. Most staff members are quite cordial and helpful. The breakfast menu was as mentioned on the web site and the room was staffed making that experience quite nice. Our accommodations were clean and the hotel has daily maid service.

    Loads of steps - probably would not be a perfect place for elderly guests. We understand why the Brits refer to their bathrooms as water closets. :)

    Good sized room. Convenient location. Helpful staff.

    Occasional noise from other guests. Freeview TV would be a good upgrade to otherwise good facilities.

    This is very good of city locaiton place.

    There was only one connected to Internet computer near reception desk. There was not possibility to work with Internet from the room. The room was extremely small. Toilet and shower were in the place with little bid more than one quad meter of floorspace. The walls were made from gypsum plasterboard. Right across of street is placed student hostel, which was very louder at night time.

    This hotel should not be on your listing. It was truly deplorable.Our room was not clean. The shower was directly on the floor and overflowed. All needed a thorough cleaning.Breakfast was only cold items- tables had items piled on them. Coffee came in a jar with a spoon. The letters of praise on the bulletin board were at least ten years old. This was not the least expensive place we stayed in BUT was definitely the worst.

    shower worked well

    advertised as internet wireless which is one reason it was picked, instead it had aterminal in the hallway with horrible picture and no wireless in room, clerk would not give us the key to get wireless in the room and refused to allow us to speak to a manager. sheets were dirty and we slept on top of the quilt. we had to split up as one room was on the bottom floor and one on the 4th floor. my husband and i had to split up to sleep with our children. we would have left if it had not been so late at night.

    LOCATION TO VICTORIA STATION WAS VERY CONVENIENT

    BREAKFAST ROOM WAS FAR TOO SMALL AND DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TABLES AND CHAIRS. TOO MANY STAIRS! HAIRDRYER DID NOT WORK PROPERLY.

    The hotel is very close to Victoria Station and to public transportations. The accommodation was perfect for having a clean room where one could sleep, eat the breakfast offered at the hotel, and then rush out to take in the sights of London. There is an excellent pub between Victoria Station and the hotel called The Marquis. We had a great dinner and good beer. (The place is popular. Be prepared to wait, unless you have an early dinner. We had a better experience here than at St. George's Tavern a couple of blocks up the street.) The receptionists at the hotel were very helpful pointing out what public transportation we should be taking to our destinations. We bought a London map at the hotel. It was sufficient for our trip.

    This is not a fancy hotel, but the price is right. The bathroom was tiny, but functional. The street is noisy, but we figured this was the price we had to pay for a central location. The rooms on the other side of the building are probably more quiet. There is no elevator.

    Ok basic room

    No fan, no A/C, lousy bathroom, shower could not maintain temperature...really bad....scalding hot water one sec and freezing another. also rude unfriendly staff.

    You were able to accomodate our need for a room on first floor for my Mum.

    The size of the room made a double and twin bed very cramped. The en-suite bathroom was very small and difficult to move around in.

    The room was too small with two beds squished in. The bathroom was dirty. There was a hole in the sheets and when I went for breakfast there were not enough seats, so I had to wait and return 30 minutes later. The breakfast was value bread, re-used milk and juice from other tables, everything was store value brand apart from the cereal.

    It was close to where I was attending a course in London

    The reception staff were unfriendly to the point of surly. The room was dirty, I found body hair in the bedroom and bathroom and there was a layer of scum on the shower and sink indicating it had not been cleaned. The breakfast the next morning was adequate but again the crockery and cutlery were so dirty it was not possible to eat from them.

    within easy walk of victoria coach/train/tube station & 2 theatres

    road busy so there was some traffic noise all night
