    "the staff were excellent, very friendly, the food was very good breakfast and main meals.lovely gardens very well maintained. the hotel is situated under the main flight path of stansted airport.no night flights though." (108558221)

    the room was very large and spacious

    one table lamp broken the bathroom needed a new carpet it was very stained, bath panel broken, needed a complete new shower. tv needed replacing unable to watch reception awful.

    clean and restaurant attractive with above average food. Very good deal with room breakfast and dinner included for the usual price of a room.

    "my husband booked it as it was my 50th birthday, but i felt it was more like a retirement home than an hotel, everyone seemed to be wispering and the music was like what would be played at a furneral. overall i was very disappointed even with my meal." (107230389)

    staff were very good, very helpful and frindly

    room had cobwebs round the ceilings, carpet in bathroom was stained and mouldy,door frames and paintwork needed washing, and back ground music in restuarant was a radio station playing depressing music whilst you was eating,instead of playing an easy listening cd, no one wants to hear the news while they are eating there meal.

    "We arrived at 10.30 at night and were not expected. Bascially the hotel was closed even though it is meant to be a 24 hour hotel. No booking was found so they could not accommodate us as requested a room for 4. We were put in a double bed and a pull out sofa bed for 1. With the money we paid, we definetly overpaid and did not have value for money. The hotel was quite far from the airport and we had to pay for a taxi, when the web site states transfers are free. WOULD NOT GO THERE AGAIN" (97207749)

    "Altogether a pleasant short overnight stay. I deliberately chose the hotel out in the country but unfortunately it was still under the flight path.A very attractive setting .Lovely old building." (97149496)

    warm welcome, nice restaurant, very nice surroundings,

    decoration becoming worn and curtain poles need cleaning - dirt on wooden poles prevent curtains closing properly.

    "Knew it was near the airport but didn't know it would be right under a flight path, so very noisy. Unable to get what we wanted to eat, as, having ordered we were then told that the hotel had just been taken over and we had been given the wrong menu. Accomodation was good, very comfortable bed."     la camera era piena di ragni e zanzare, la moquettes del bagno presentava aloni di muffa (igiene??????) .......... al mattino abbiamo aspettato 15 minuti per effettuare il ceck-out in quando non c'era personale alla reception!!!

    "The rooms can be noisy because of low flying jets but the evening meal was not disturbed at all and the staff were all friendly and gave a personal service. The building is lovely and the views from the rooms beautiful." (3304223139)

    "Had difficulty finding hotel down the lanes, but well worth it when we arrived. Some aircraft noise from Stanstead but didn`t really notice it too much. Lovely gardens & setting. Very clean & tidy. Food was excellent. Staff were friendly & helpful." (3304897823)

    "Not the type of hotel I would generally use when working and travelling alone, but a pleasant change for my partner to be in a country hotel. I see many different types and standards of accommodation and of its type this was fairly average. Unless I knew the people concerned really well, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone." (3304969454)

    Old charm in a good location -- Stansted is a nuisance but its close proximity is the reason that we stayed here

    "Great location, great food in the resturant but dissapointed with a few basics like shower not functioning properly and feeling awkward hunting down staff for a drink at he bar!! Okay they had a wedding party using the conference suite but should have organised their staff accordingly! Also my rate included 3 days car stay at hotel and taxi to and from the airport, however it cost me an extra " (3304875384)

    Beautiful location close to Stansted airport

    Shower in bath not working properly, had to sit and have a shower! Staff more comitted to looking after the Wedding party than the mid-week guest, often found ourselves chasing staff for a drink at the bar!!

    "As we didn't arrive at the hotel until nearly 3:30 am,it was very difficult getting up to have breakfast by 9am. As so many flights are delayed this must be a commom occurance. The Hotel staff were very obliging, allowing us to keep our room for the afternoon,and helpful in telling us about local transport and sightseeing" (3304700091)

    "The hotel far exceeded my expectations in terms of service and the room I had. I would certainly use for it for business again but more as a weekend retreat so I could spend more time there." (2923685)

    The service was fantastic, friendly and professional... certainly unexpected for a stopover journey. The room I had was also very nice.

    The only thing I was slighly disappointed with was a pane missing from the window which was taped up. I understand with an older building that these things happen but the weather that night was particularly unpleasant and you couldn't help but notice it.
