    Hotelkamer stonk! Ook met open raam bleef de 'rioollucht' hangen. Ik leek vlooienbeten te hebben opgelopen.

    "Given that the 2 rooms cost £195 for one night I would have expected my stay to be faultless, which it wasn't. I also think that a check in time of 3.00 and a checkout of 10.30 is not true value for money, especially for a 1 night stay." (108263976)

    Location. Good food.

    Television in one room not working. Far too warm in one of the rooms. No soap in bathroom. Guest ice machine not available as stated in brochure.

    Very clean. Friendly helpful staff. Had a spacious twin room with good bathroom. Food in the restaurant was excellent, bar and conservatory very comfortable areas to sit. Hotel location excellent overlooking the River Cam and only 10 mins walk to city centre. Plenty of parking space at rear of hotel also a big bonus.

    "A dazzling stay, from which the aformentioned "bad" points can hardly detract. We loved the whole ethos of your hotel. The cheery orange decor in reception was spot-on in creating a fun yet civilised holiday mood, and the floral, almost rustic ambience of our room made us feel safe and soothed. But truly, flippancy aside, it was a delight to be at the Arundel House Hotel, Cambridge." (107394187)

    An attractive and comfortable room, with a beautiful riverside view from every window. A delicious breakfast enhanced by the airy, relaxed atmosphere of the Conservatory. Very convenient for the city centre and attractions - just a short walk through the park.

    Unfortunate lack of air conditioning in room made for a slightly stuffy sleeping experience. Close proximity to park meant we were woken in the middle of the night by raucous revels and fireworks.

    The only good thing really was the breakfast serving staff, they were cheerful and polite.

    We were very disappointed by the check-in staff at the hotel. The rudness when asked if they had a fan we could use in the bedroom as it was unbearable and hot. We were disappointed by having to take our cases up two steep flights of stairs, and to find a small dark and very, very hot room.

    Convenient location. Main facilities were fine: room & ensuite not too cramped,good hot water flow, good bedside lighting, etc. Continental breakfast generous and breakfast room very pleasant. Good car parking.

    No lifts. Room (at front) rather stuffy and noisy over main road. Promotional photo deceptive (does not show main road between hotel and river). Furnishings and fittings looking a little worn and tired.

    "Our feelings about the hotel were very positive. It is a lovely hotel, with comfortable rooms, in a beautiful setting; and we were happy that we had chosen it for a family reunion." (107784250)

    The dining room staff were particularly friendly and helpful. The garden provided a delightful setting for our family reunion, and was very welcome as a space for our grandchildren to play in. We were also delighted by the position of the hotel, on the river and opposite a park.

    The equipment in our room could have been in better condition. We could not use the radio, could receive only three channels on the TV - BBC2 was not available. One of the bedside lights was not working.

    No working TV Mis-spelling of 'principal/principle' in your room information - unforgiveable in the prime University city! Bar drinks rather expensive.

    Looking out into the trees. Good location with nice walk to town.

    Cramped and awkward room. Dull decor. Lumpy bed. Curt and not very friendly staff. Stairs up, down and sideways for luggage. Breakfast adequate but serving staff seemed like a military group herding us around.

    Location

    Meals in both restaurant & brasserie - much too expensive for the so-so quality. Service rather pompous, more than a hint of Fawlty Towers. The breakfast 'coffee' was inexcusably bad. Some healthier alternatives are needed for breakfast, e.g. fresh fruit instead of tinned in syrup (even tinned in juice would be better), skimmed or semi-skimmed milk as well as full-fat.

    "The bright sunshine made the conservatory and garden very attractive locations and we enjoyed walking across Jesus Green to the colleges. An enjoyable weekend." (107522310)

    Conservatory was very pleasant with reasonably priced food. Ample car-parking, which is difficult to find in such an atttractive, central location in Cambridge. Relaxed atmosphere.

    Some noise but not too bad. Kettle in room didn't work but was replaced by night porter very quickly and efficiently.

    This hotel was ideally positioned for our purposes and the staff fulfilled our request for a room in a quiet part of the hotel, which was appreciated.

    The "continental" breakfast was adequate rather than something to look forward to and the bar was not consistently staffed even though it was a Saturday evening.

    Very good location with a great view of the river. The room was clean. The staff is very helpful.

    Traffic noise from fairly busy road. There was no lift and very narrow stairs.

    A cosy hotel, well placed for exploring Cambridge. Bright, clean and well decorated, with spacious rooms and common areas. The staff were enthusiastic and helpful. We would certainly go again.

    It seemed slightly over-priced, but given the shortage of hotels of this standard in Cambridge this is perhaps not unexpected.

    Nice atmosphere in hotel. Friendly but effeicient. Within walking distance of centre of Cambridge

    One member of waiting staff got an order wrong and put it right but with bad attitude.

    Reasonable size establishment with reasonable parking, a pretty good position, and reasonable staff.

    The rooms are a tad tired - old tellys, old beds, possibly overdue for modernizing.
