    Free parking, bar and snacks available if needed, good breakfast included in the price. Very friendly owner, although slightly eccentric!

    I thought that 74 Pounds was a bit steep for the room itself, although admittedly the breakfast was good.

    This was an old property. The room was cold and facing the road. I like a quiet room and woke early to traffic. The breakfast was ok but some of it was burnt.

    Very friendly, good choice for breakfast, including organic choices. Clean room. Our son was made to feel very welcome.

    The outside of the building needs some TLC giving a poor impression on arrival. Shower was impossible, full on was either boiling or turn down very slighty was freezing, pressure was low, water only trickled out.

    Very friendly, very well presented (decor, furnishings, details like flowers and other decoration), and very comfortable.

    Should make it clearer that booking IS NOT the same as paying! I rather presumed, having given credit card details, that payment had been debited. Might have been embarassing.

    Miss Fieldhouse was VERY helpful and knowledgable and made our stay an excellent one. Very nice and friendly house cat and dog. Copious reading and reference materials available in the lounge/library. Great English "full breakfasts."

    Mix up over arrival time and a personal emergency. But, as it turned out, no big deal.

    "No complaints it was as advertised , we had booked dinner at the hotel and we arrived just before 6pm to be told dinner was at 7 pm and we should of given our order from the menue before 6,this was not pointed out when it was booked with the hotel a week before.     "I had to canel my visit but these comments are from my last visit and I will be booking next December for the conference. Parking was easy and well organised. I was shown to my room and the use of things explained. A friendly owner who made sure that my evening meal was well cooked and well presented.     "The welcome we received was very friendly, with a very efficient check in. We found our room to be neat tidy with a decor of a very high standard (a standard maintained for all of the public rooms). During our stay we were made to feel very welcome with the proprietor displaying very good local knowledge, including where to eat, and the histories of her hotel and some other local buildings.     It was very friendly, clean and cosy, the owner was very helpful and much of the food on offer was homemade and mostly locally grown a refreshing change from mas produced products. We had a very relaxing break and it is a great starting point for many places of interest to visit.

    Very friendly and informative owner. The family room was very nice and very clean, the teddy bears on the beds were a nice touch! A great place to stay as a base for surrounding attractions, would happily stay there again.
