    "I chose the hotel on the internet based on the written description by your hotel, it sounded like a nice old hotel renovated to be modern, but I dont know if this statement is really true. I stay in hotels 3-6 months per year, I think your hotel has a lot of potential, good location, nice lobby, good amenities, but I think the general appearance/cleanliness and staff professionality could be easily improved and would add a lot more to your hotel. (And by the way, I am American, not British, so I dont winge about every hotel stay and every detail like alot of the Brits do :-) I hope my feedback helps, I see even more potential with your hotel" (108295384)

    Online checkin was good, location was good, wireless internet worked well

    Thought the room was a bit faded, couches dirty, could have used a new coat of paint. Also, asked for twin beds at checkin, got a queen, for 2 men, wanted separate, small issue but took some time. Breakfast sausage and ham was great, nice local taste, but eggs, juice, and fruit were not so good, didnt like the tiny (and dirty) glasses)

    Lovely view over sea, clean hotel, helpful staff

    we asked on booking for glutenm and dairy free - on arrival we were told that the hotel could not contact us to advise that this might not be possible!! In reality after a couple of days we were very weel satisfied with the service provision but the first two days were not a good start. The hotel balmed the booking service for an inability to communicate with future guests. This is not clear on the web site

    Conveniently situated.

    Poor evening food. Horrible room at the rear of the hotel. Shower curtain smells.

    Corridors were very narrow, room was not very big and very little daylight. The steps in the corridors were a nusiance when carrying luggage as was the width.

    Staff were exceptional and we to lengths to fix any issues. Bar staff we friendly attantive and remembered personal prefs.

    Started in a single room on 1st floor but the noise from below was too much. I was moved top a room on the 4th which was much nicer and quiet but the phones did not work

    helpful check in girl was very cheerie made us welcome. when we were not happy with our room she changed it for better room without problems. good overall position in douglas with a great front view and piano bar was very relaxing with a drink. a nice breakfast too.

    breakfast staff seemed very miserable each morning and never seemed to raise a smile or acknowledge your presence. the fist double room we were given was tiny and seemed like a single with double bed in it. however this was sorted as above. overall room cost has doubled in 4 yrs which is off putting.

    Very pleasant experience. Single room was above standard with good clean facilities. Great 3 ft wide single bed and good quality linen. Excellent buffet style breakfast with helpful staff.

    Staff friendly and attentive.Bar and dining rooms very good. Reception staff welcoming, friendly and efficient. Location very good, right on the promenade and ideally located for public transport

    Room was clean but the upholstery on the furniture was tired looking and past its best

    "We were on holiday with friends. Apart from the really small rooms and not many places to eat out, everything else was excellent. Evening meals in the restaurant were extremely good as was the piano bar atmosphere. Staff were very helpful and everywhere was really clean. Overall a really good holiday." (107349657)

    Piano playing in the bar was a great addition in the evening. The conservatory at the front of the building was useful when the weather was poor.

    Many steps at the entrance and no sign to indicate alternative route via lift. My elderly mother was with us and she had a problem with the steps. Computer crashed on last day and had to wait for invoice to arrive.

    Friendly staff

    Restaurant menu - food wass high quality but for the actual typr of food one would expect lower prices. The bar menu - reg steak pie was mmore appealing - but woud you want to eat from tables so low assuming you could find a space which we couldn't on the first night due to the football.

    Clean, Helpful, staff attentive, breakfast was excellent - made such a change to have "hot" coffee and "hot" toast - and not what we call "nearly toast" but proper toasted toast !! We ate in both the hotel restaurant - very good quality food, also eat at the Chinese restaurant in the hotel - excellent value for money, excellent choice of foods available and as much as you could eat.

    Room was very small and looked out over rooftops/chimneys etc. I imagine this room was more often let out as a single room which would have been more comfortable. The final nights stay we were kept awake by the disco from the wedding receiption that was being held - however once we had complained to the receptionist, she asked if we would prefer to move to another room for the night. We took her up on her very kind offer - and had an excellent nights sleep.

    Central location; spacious public areas; good breakfast (kippers excellent!); drinkable coffee! (croissants could have been fresher); pleasant and polite dining staff; fair price; pleasantly warm bedrooms; nice bathroom; tea & coffee-making facilities; wireless internet facility.

    Bit chilly in the breakfast lounge in the morning (backing on to conservatory); bar staff not very proactive (think that drink sales could be increased if staff bothered to approach tables and: 1. Ask guests if they would like another drink. 2. Deliver the drink(s) to the table instead of letting them sit on the bar and expect guests to collect them for themselves!! WiFi should be included in the price, it's no longer a 'luxury' item, for businness its essential. The lift had a very nasty smell about it - stale and quite foul at times. The front steps were being painted so the damp smell on entering the hotel was replaced with a strong smell of tar! The first thing anyone really notices on entering a building is the pervailing smell - pleasant or otherwise. It really is worth working on this aspect as it 'flavours' first impressions.

    Hotel was very clean and breakfast was good

    Room was small, not big enough for 2 adults and not suitable for more than 1 nights stay. We did request a sea view, which we didnt get, and although we asked to be moved we were told the hotel was full.

    Clean, well furnished rooms - ours was large, with a sea view. Attentive staff. Excellent evening meal in the restaurant and delicious breakfasts.

    As the evening meal in the restaurant was so delicious we would have liked to have eaten there again. Unfortunately, for us, the restaurant had been booked for private functions for the following two evenings.

    good clean adequate room. Breakfast good. Staff polite and quick to respond Good bar meals

    Swimming pool and jacuzzi were almost cold. I went in there twice and on one occasion it was tepid - on the other cold. This was the most disappointing feature of the hotel. It is something I enjoy when on a holiday alone, but this was unpleasant

    I had a room on the 3rd floor with a sea view...but the only view i got was of seagulls sitting on top of the 2nd floor bay windows looking for scraps! The room was booked on line and paid (so i thought!) with my credit card..but on checking in they wanted the credit card that i didn't have on me! Thankfully my partner had a card on her or we would have been stuck!
