    Good Location

    Appalling Soundproofing to Rooms 34 & 35 where we stayed. Very Cramped and Bathroom Design & electric shower were very poor.

    "Picked out of the blue for transit stopover and quick look at the locality. Nice hotel, excellent food in lovely restaurant, cannot be faulted. Hope to return for longer stay next time. Very enjoyable, only 10 mins from Ironbridge to walk." (97261198)

    "The car park is on a slope which could seem steep to some people, and there are steps both inside and outside the hotel, but the hotel itself is lovely and all of the staff are very friendly. Within walking distance of the ironbidge, and the area is lovely, very relaxing and welcoming." (97622959)

    The accomodation was excellent, the staff were friendly and efficient and the food in the resstaurant fantastic. We will definately be coming back.

    The shower had a mind of its own, but the huge bath more than made up for it.

    The room (ours was a queen) was immaculate, cannot fault the place.

    Noise from the boiler I think, which kept my husband awake.

    "Nice location for the hotel. Good breakfast room. Bedroom and bar/restaurant were non smoking but Reception area was not and consequently large numbers of people congregated there to smoke which was horrible. Staff were helpful but could not change our room due to a wedding being held. Our room was large but the quality was poor and not in keeping with the price." (99147380)

    Room was large but quality very poor. The matress was the most uncomfortable we have ever slept on with springs sticking out. My husband had to sleep on our daughters bed. The room was also very cold, to he point that we slept in our clothes. Hence we stayed only one night instead of the planned two. The Reception area was packed with people smoking which was horrible and we had no choice to avoid that area.

    "Generally, the hotel was very nice. It was clean, as were the rooms. The staff were very polite and helpful. The meals were very nice [I especially loved the wild mushroom and taragon soup].Only the cold weather let the side down !!" (99761583)

    The room was clean and spacious. Although only a single room was booked, I had a good size suite containing a double and a single bed.

    Unfortunately the beds [both the double and single] were rather uncomfortable. The springs could be felt through the mattress, making it a bit 'lumpy'. Also, when the radiators came on in the afternoon, they did not get very hot although they were on full. Unfortunately it was a cold week [for March].

    "I would stay at the hotel again if I needed somewhere convenient to Telford that was clean and tidy. The hotel staff were very helpful and welcoming and the rooms were dated but clean and tidy if a little small. Food was pleasant but quite expensive." (99288152)

    The hotel was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and eager to please. Rooms were clean and well presented but very small. Dinner was pleasant but quite expensive. Breakfast was well cooked but bland. Serice was excellent

    The aweful view of the huge (really huge)power station with three massive cooling towers directly behind the hotel spoilt the setting and is well hidden on the publicity shot of the hotel.

    The hotel location was great and the room was fantastic!!

    The manager sat at the end of the bar at night chatting up his girlfriend and kissing lokking as if we were intruding even though we were full paying guests. Also being afraid to ask the breakfast waiter for a glass of water because she was so harsh and busy !!

    It was a great location for our friend's wedding reception, even though the river had flooded the gardens!!

    The only thing to dislike was the shower going hot and cold.

    Its individuality: this is not a standard city centre concrete box, it's much more interesting. Lovely setting.

    The room above ours had some very creaky floorboards...and the occupants seemed to spend much of the night walking up and down.

    "The hotel in general was better than had could have hoped, other than my little gripe above. The location / setting is lovely and the standards within the hotel were excellent. However bar snacks and sandwiches can only be ordered and eaten in your room. The dining room menu looked very nice but for my tastes was a bit restrictive.     Electric shower had very little power. Of the hotels in the Telford area that I have stayed in recently, this was the worst shower. The only, but to me very inmportant negative.

    "The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was a bit on the warm side, however, I would rather be hot than cold,as you can always open a window.This might be unsafe though if you are on the ground floor. The hotel is kept very clean. The Television channels are rather limited,when I saw you had sky I assumed all the channels." (3304413098)

    Our original room was large there was no noise, and the view was outstanding.

    To have more than one restaurant, so when you are using the dining room for a function the guests are still able to book a meal

    "This was a very pleasant stay. The hotel staff were friendly AND efficient, and our accomodation very clean. The decor was a little old fashioned but that was was not out of place given the setting. The food was outstanding, and the restaurant service attentive but not oppressive.     Very, very clean,and comfortable. The only minor complaint was the bed...felt the mattress could have been newer (noisy springs and a little uncomfortable.)

    Nice location. Attentive staff. Idyllic situation for breakfast overlooking the riverbank meadows

    Please, please, please get rid of those noisy extractor fans or silence them. Every time I book a hotel stay I request 'please no extractor fans' and every time, I seem to get them. They are the bain of my life. I know you need extractor fans but do you think we are used to sleeping at home with this din all night ? Please get them silenced !! Thanks.

    Hotel was fine. The only negative was that the radiator in the room was not working. It was late by the time that I got to my room and really wanted to just get to bed, so did not get around to getting the hotel to fix the radiator

    "Dining/breakfast room and general areas very well decorated but our room could have done with freshening up. Squeaky floorboards meant you could hear every movement of occupants of room above! Lack of lift could be a problem if above first floor as there was no offer to carry bags to room." (2563061)

    Good location near to centre of Ironbridge and some nice pubs - less than 10 mins. Hotel overlooks very pleasant park and gardens.

    Decor a bit 'tired', especially flooring in room & bathroom. Floorboards very squeaky!

    I know it was last minute on line booking but room small, in attic and bathroom was poor.

    Signs locating rooms numbers, replace floor in bathroom and coat of paint.

    there was a wedding on both nights we stayed in the hotel disco could be heard in room and children running up an down corridors till early hours of the morning
