    Good

    I was dissapointed that my online booking could not be reconciled with my Booking reference when i got to the hotel. I had to make several phone calls to be sure I will not be charged for 'no show'. This is because I eventually had to secure accomodation based on my presence at the hotel and i paid in cash.

    Why did i have to pay for the car park when i am a guest? I thought that was a cheek.

    Very clean hotel.

    Staff are your weak piont. The lady on bar duty had the most appalling cough and made no attempt to wash her hands after coughing into them. I declined a prepared drink. Staff at check out seemed somewhat hesitant about the process. They could all be much more smart & well turned out in their appearance.

    Complained about the room on 3 occasions re noise of an extractor fan sound. Nothing was done. At 2300 on my last night the nice youngman on the desk offered to try and find me another room but it was too late as far as I was concerned. On checkout the lady stated you do have problems with noisy rooms due to pipe work. Why are they offered for customers then without warning. I considered my first stay at a Holiday Inn to be poor and over priced for the standard I received. It would be doubtful I stayed again.

    Location, cleanliness.

    Far too hot in the room. Expensive bar drinks (wine only in large glasses). Hotel restaurant very slow service in the evening.

    I liked the fact that it was modern, clean and trendy. There were also a number of services on offer, for example the pillow thing. What a fab idea.

    "WE WERE TOLD WE COULD NOT HAVE BREAKFAST ON SUNDAY MORNING AS OUR BOOKING DID NOT INCLUDE IT. FORTUNLEY WE WERE ABLE TO PRODUCE OUR BOOKING CONFIRMATION WHICH SHOWED THAT IT WAS.     THE ROOM WAS VERY GOOD AND THE PILLOW MENU A VERY GOOD IDEA. ALSO SOMEONE CAME TO CHECK THAT THE ROOM HAD BEEN SERVICED PROPERELY.

    It was clean, reasonably quiet and the bathroom was adequate

    Trouser press was broken, fan was broken, kettle was broken, central heating would not turn off - excessively hot. As a non-smoking room, there was a high smell of smoke in the bathroom.

    check-in receptionist did not explain anything very well, directed us to our room the wrong way. she spoke with an accent and so softly that we could not hear very well and had to ask her to repeat what she had said, which we think slightly annoyed her.

    "The dining areas was appalling - vry badly managed. Guests from 2 weddings stayed over. Surely extra staff should have been drafted in. Empty tables lain strewn with breakfast debris whilst there was a queue for seating. Had a Manager been present they should have had ONE PERSON solely employed to clear and wipe tables, preferably using a trollye which they could load, and not be running back and forth to the kitchen with the filthy plates. Food ran out and there were queues waiting for food to be cooked." (3305196324)

    "the accommodation was very clean and modern. THe beds were comfortable and provided enough pillows. The bathroom was also very clean. The room had good utilities. hairdryer, teamaker. tv etc. Hotel staff were friendly and the breakfast was delicious with a good variety. enough space for parking. Myself and my partner were very happy with the room. We would use this hotel again." (3304951284)

    "A very relaxing stay, the late checkout was also excellent. Nothing worse when you have had a late night and with young children to get them up, dressed and packed and fed by 10.00am. 12 noon was a godsend" (3304800679)

    Family room! Very hard to find hotels that cater for familys with young children when you want all beds within one unit. The gift bags for children was also an excellent extra and not expected

    "Only hotel we could find on line close enough to where we wanted to be that evening. Many of rooms adjoining car park facing onto A2 . It would have been useful to have had this information and the opportunity to request a quieter room.We will probably use the hotel again because of its proximity to our destination and will certainly ask for details of room siting next time.     "It is close to a busy main road with constant traffic, late at night and first thingin the morning. I would recommend subject to the note about traffic noise as that is a personal preference and some way of separating smokers more effectively in the bar and reception areas would be appreciated."
