    Nice central location, Staff are welcoming and helpful, Good facilities Generally quiet. Good internet connection availability

    Parking can be a bit of a pain. Buffet hot breakfast looses its quality

    very convenient location. Friendly and very efficient staff. Excellent restaurant.

    position of air con in room over bed head meant hot air blew into our faces and when turned off we were cold.

    " Hotel has obviously been completely renovated and our room in the Orchard wing was state of the art. The mainly Asian staff were charming. By contrast the leisure centre which belonged to another hotel was a bit jaded and dated." (108063098)

    Good location, quiet room, excellent choice at breakfast.

    Steep stairs from car park to first floor reception, and there was no offer of help with bags from the all female reception - we had my partner's 86-year-old mother with us so had to carry her case as well as our own. I suppose we could have asked for help but by the time we struggled to reception it was too late.

    Excellent customer service, very helpful and friendly staff. Hotel was very welcoming and relaxing. Room was immaculate with nice colour scheme. Breakfast, as much as you wanted and very good. Restaurant was lovely too and very popular as we couldnt get in.

    Room was very small especially the bathroom but was the last one available

    - The Oasis Restaurant - Convenience for amenities - no need to drive - Friendly but not intrusive - Bed comfortable - Food good

    "I found that all of the staff were friendly,helpfull,polite.So that point of veiw can only be answered while you stay at the hotel.On reflection a bigger car park would have been good.Position of hotel very good.The use of your computor was a gift as far as I was concerned,as I needed to e-mail my daughter in taiwan asap on arrival.All above has to be in rectrospect,but I have to say I was not let down.I found that the breakfast staff were the best,and I really could not have wanted better."     As we were upgraded I was impressed,not to say chuffed.

    Walking uphill to the toilet,plus creaking floorboards.

    bed and pillows were brilliant! really really comfortable. Also room was very clean. Hotel decor was up to date.

    Even though the breakfast was nice and plentiful i would have prefered a freshly cooked breakfast for the price of the hotel.

    "This hotel was a pleasant suprise considering it's rating. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The restauraunt was well worth a visit. We stayed in the suite but I would have liked to look at the standard doubles to compare. The location was ideal in the centre of town." (97173637)

    I was very impressed considering this is only 3 star. We stayed in the suite and it was very nice. The Orchid restauraunt is a must visit for service, food and vodka martinis.

    No biscuits with the tea tray and parts of the room needed some cosmetic attention but nothing major.

    Accomodation was really nice. Breakfast was excellent, by far the nicest selection of food I have ever had in a hotel before. situation of hotel is great, just a stones throw from the restaurants, shops etc

    Accommodation was very central to both local ameneties and conference centre. Staff very friendly and helpful.

    As a disabled person with mobility difficulties, it would help if the lift had been highlighted...we only found it on the last day!

    The bathroom was excellent, very spacious and clean. A overhead fan in the bedroom was helpfull as it was very warm. A very good choice of food at breakfast.

    The bed was a small double, could have done to be a kingsize. However it was still comfortable and exta pillows were provided. The outlook from the bedroom window was a little dissapointing and although the lighting in the room was thought out and modern there wasn't a main light.

    "We booked the suite and the adjacent executive room both were very cold apart from early morning. The towel rail did not heat up in the bathroom so we could not dry the towels and had to request dry ones. When we complained about the heating we were offered a portable heater considering the cost of these rooms this was totally unacceptable and we would never stay there again." (97953166)

    "Very nice all in all. Nice clean cosy room, loved the silver flat screeen tv and comfty bed and nice bathroom and shower. The only thing is, is that the rooms are just too small for the price. Also had a full english breakfast the next day which was nice apart from the horrible sausages. Also drink prices are ridiculas. My boyfriend order a single vodka and orange and it cost " (99809163)

    "The hotel is in an excellent central location with warm and friendly staff who are very helpful and attentive. The hotel also has an excellent Thai/Oriental restaurant where we had a superb meal. A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay - would highly recommend" (99840685)

    Only blinds in the room ( no curtains ) so it was very light in the room early in the morning!

    Access, Beds and facilities all good.

    The occasional smell of cigarette smoke was very annoying plus the smoke alarm activated for no apparent reason.

    "The hotel is well situated in Harrogate. Room was clean and comfortable. Room service was good. Complimentary wireless (or wired) internet access was a nice extra which I used. Nice area of the town, good starting point for exploring Harrogate by foot. Also close to the information centre." (99559396)

    Ironing board and iron in room were very welcome. Bed was comfortable. The room was clean and the bathroom was spotless. Complimentary wireless internet access was a unexpected surprise.

    Although the room I was in was no-smoking, there was an obvious smell of smoke filtering in from somewhere in the hotel. The English smoking ban can't come too soon.

    Central to town, quiet area, nice and clean

    Decor very dated now. Needs a bit of a lick of paint. Room small with very low beams - but that is what you get for a period hotel!
