    price and location

    Our room had a bed light with a missing bulb. my friend grabbed the light and received a electric shock. Exposed electricity points is incredible dangeous and although my friend luckly only recieved a small shock this could have been a major problem. This is not really acceptable

    Room and facilities excellent

    Being unable to contact the Hotel by telephone. Two of the three calls were sent to an answering machine, and although we asked for a return call and left our phone number as requested, no-one came back to us.

    The food was good a nice cooked breakfast and had a meal in the pub next door was really good too,also the staff were really friendly and the hotel room was spotless.

    The only bad points was the reception was unmanned when we arrived and you have to use a telephone to get a member off staff which took a few attempts as it kept going to answer phone and i asked for a twin room to find it was a double but they did sort it out straight away.

    Room and hotel very clean and tidy. Staff very helpful.

    Only one bedside cabinet. No ironing facility.

    Clean and tidy, Polite Bar Staff. Fresh Pastries at breakfast.

    Bad customer service, Newspaper was given when leaving the hotel!! Reception staff did not seem to know or undrstand any questions made. Breakfast staff was very rude and abrupt. You need a menu for breakfast time if your going to offer more than a full english. Being told we could have 'what ever is on the full breakfast seperatly if we want' is not good customer service. Musty stale smell in room. Ironing boards laying around on landing, not excatly safety concious here. Entertainment is not as advertised and if your room overlooks the car park it is noisy until the karaoke stops

    "Fine, we wanted a base while visiting out son. It was not the savoy but we got what we paid for. I was worried because I read on the internet about miss-use of credit cards and I did not want to leave a copy of mine with reception, but after some debate I was able to retrieve it when I left."     Value for money, clean and the staff were polite. We asked for a quiet room and it was. The food was good, and we were not kept waiting

    We were locked out because we were not given a key to get in after 10.00pm, although a very kind young man working late in the bar did hear me knocking and came to the rescue. The breakfast was fine but ther was no menu, just asked whether or not we wanted a cooked breakfast. It would have been nice to know what was on offer

    The room (eventually) was good. Clean, roomy, quiet and well equipped, no complaints. Good breakfast.

    Having booked a twin room (stated clearly on the confirmation email), we had in fact been booked into a double, only discovered on entering the room. We were then given another room which was also a double. Eventually the receoptionist found us a twin. She said housekeeping had made twin beds into doubles. After a long hot day of walking, it was annoying to have to walk along long corridors several tiomes before getting the room I had booked.

    Room nice and clean

    Very poor restaurant experience. Dirty wine glass, which was replaced but the wine was poured from dirty glass to clean one, until I asked for fresh wine too. Dreadful nachos that I returned, due to overall presentation and appearance. I explained to waiting staff and check in staff that I would not be paying for my meal, however when I came to check out in the morning,I had to explain the story again as I was billed from the restaurant. Room very noisy due to traffic on main road, and very hot, no air conditioning, which is not always essential, however, when the traffic noise is bad even with the window shut, vital. Hairdryer in room did not work

    Value for money excellent

    Girl on reception excellent. Didn't get his name but he seemed to be incharge possibly, customer service skills vey poor. As I am in managment, I would have employed him to have run a bath.Woken at 9.30am no knock on the door with by the maid.

    Cleaner doesn't get into corners or hoover dust from the arm chairs! Didn't like the scrattched plastic beakers in bathroom, they didnt look clean

    "Well I must be honest, we did enjoy our stay. If in your values colum you had between GOOD and EXCELLENT a Very Good, then the scoring would have been better. I would have clicked V:Good at least twice." (107270231)

    Staff very helpfull and obliging.

    There appears to be a "slap happy" attitued to the cleaning and replacing of beakers in bath room.We waited two days for beakers, no I didn`t report it , I wanted to see how long it would take to replace them. If the standard is to be maintained then the room service have got to wipe the chrome pieces every day.

    Lovely friendly hotel and staff

    booking was not successful on the intrenet despite being given a booking reference number so i had to make the reservation over the phone. Room smelt a little smoky despite requesting non smoking

    "This was the fourth year running we have stayed at the Wee Waif to attend an annual function and found comfort of room and bed much improved (nice pillows and excellent mattress) (Room 15)" (107215900)

    Refurbishment was good - room comfortable and much brighter and comfort of bed excellent

    There was no plug to the wash basin (we carry a spare having found this missing in other hotels in the past). The room faced on to the main road and is in desperate need of net curtains. We had to draw the curtains and put the lights on despite it being daylight outside in order to change. Lights dim - could do with brighter lighting.

    Clean and welcoming. Good value evening meal and decent beer. Excellent choice for breakfast. Could take our bikes into the room !

    No shampoo (or dispenser) but quickly fixed by reception. Only two tea bags but loads of coffee. Initially given a double even though booked a twin, again quickly fixed. On a busier day for this might have been a problem.

    Very run down and over priced for what we got compared to others in the UK for similar cost. We had a twin room with beds that small a small child would have trouble sleeping in them. No fridge or air coditioning with a window that would not open.

    Hotel location was close to the family we were visiting

    Booked room with double bed and were provided with singles. Initially reception staff could not locate our booking which was quite stressful. Shower in room had very poor water pressure. Hallway area smelt musty and had ceiling tiles lost through a flood - there were items stored under stairwells which made a poor first impression. Staff in the restaurant had to be prompted to take our breakfast order. Milk and juice and pastry items ran out at breakfast and were not replaced. Could not watch TV due to poor aerial reception and could not get all channels.

    Unfortunately the hotel was having refurbishment carried out, meaning that no resturant facilities were available including breakfast, whilst the hotel reduced my charge per night, the Wee Waif is not in easy access of facilities.

    Excellent value for money for us, reasonably comfortable.

    Room was a little tired especially the bathroom. We don't like thin towels.

    "I left a note at reception when I left. informing that one of the bed-head lamps was not working, it did not cause any inconvenience to us. More importantly, the directions for arrival could have been more specific. My only complaint. Please could you alter you directions to include that entrance to carpark and Reception is obtained from the Old Bath Road and not from the A4. Once we were checked in the Reception staff could not have been more helpful, finding a good car-wash garage for us. It was service beyond what I expected. We will certainly recommend the Wee Waif and sing it's praises. It is very useful to know as it is convenient for London" (97806853)

    "I found the whole process of booking on line,service and accomodation to be excellent for the price. The restaurant menu was varied and good value.i liked the fact that you could take your meal in your room at no extra cost.A most enjoyable stay." (97905745)

    the room was clean and quite spacious. The room was heated well and the bed was very comfy.I was very impressed that i could order from the full restaurant menu and did not have to pay a room service charge.
