    "A very pleasant one-night stay. Wasn't at the hotel much, so can't comment on the other facilities, apart from my £39 en-suite double room which was excellent quality & value. Didn't have breakfast so can't pass judgement on it." (107363235)

    Convenient location, very close to Birmingham New Street Station. Within easy walking distance of the National Indoor Arena, for the event I was attending. Excellent room. Polite staff.

    The television reception was poor. Lots of static/hissing marring the broadcast on all channels. Manual adjustment of the aerial did not help. Having said that, I wasn't there to watch telly!

    ON ARRIVAL MEMBER OF STAFF CUDNT FIND MY ONLINE RESERVATION. WASNT GIVEN ANY INFO OF BAR & RESTAURANT TIMES ROOM WAS DIRTY. HOT AND STUFFY WHEN ASKED A MEMBER OF STAFF FOR ELECTRIC FAN TOLD NONE AVAILABLE. NO COLD WATER JUST HOT IN BOTH TAPS AND YET THE SHOWER WAS COLD. OVERALL VERY DISAPPOINTED

    Room very small. Would have liked bottled water for making hot drink, water from tap in bathroom gave tea a funny taste.

    Friendly staff. Nice clean room. spacious. good value. Close to train station ,taxis buses, shopping centre, bullring and markets and all theatres and the National indoor arena.

    Ironing room needs updating and new carpet on back staircase otherwise excellent

    "OK - much better than an outer London 3 star place I used recently where it was old-fashioned and smelled of fumes, and it cost £87 per night inc. breakfast, but when I went down at 8.30 it had finished and a sharp East European woman sent me away with a flea in my ear. Hence I don't do breakfast anymore. I did not feel welcome." (107545273)

    Clean, well presented, comfortable bed and good shower. I felt my business was valued.

    The cold tap ran warm all the time and I could not drink the water for teeth and overnight refreshment. The room was over warmly heated and the atmosphere was rather dry, but it is a difficult time of year for heating.

    "The hotel was very quiet and although we paid a low price I felt the allocation of room could have been a bit more generous." (107738559)

    The price was probably the only good point.

    The room was small and dark and smelled of disinfectant/musty. The carpet was soiled. Although there was a restaurant, there was no facility to eat in the evening. The bar had no white wine so we had to leave the hotel to eat/drink.

    Central location.

    Room stank of stale smoke despite requesting a non smoking room. Decor was tired and grubby. Shower gave out only warm water on 2 separate ocassions and was falling apart. Shaving light in bathroom did not work. Bed was old and uncomfortable.

    Booked through the Internet (Priceline) and reserved 2 x Twin Rooms in July. On arrived was informed that this was not the cas. What was booked was 1 x Double 2 x Single, totally inappropiate for the party travelling. However Sean (manager) provided excellent customer service in providing (as part of compensation)breakfast for all parties, and did everything possible to make a comfortable stay. Although the accomodation was good it would have been better had we received the rooms requested.

    Will not use Priceline again, will book direct via hotel next time.

    Only drawback was lack of hairdryers, despite enquiring beforehand to ensure that one would be available.

    Staff at reception were friendly and very professional. I thought the breakfast was excellent and well served by a charming Polish waitress. I asked for my bacon to be crispy and it came crispy ! I asked to borrow a pen to do my crossword and it came with a smile. All in all I was very happy with my stay at thougfht it excellent value. Also excelent shower head - can be a rare commodity in UK ! Many thanks David Watt

    Think it is maybe time to renew the blankets - looking a bit worn out.

    Convenient location for city centre and station.

    Did not get what was booked well in advance (in July for a date in mid October) which was very disappointing. I booked a twin-bedded room because we were two female adults, but what we got was a double and a child's Z-bed, the latter not exactly appropriate for a senior citizen! Compensation of complimentary breakfasts and an offer of a discount on a twin room for a future booking did not really compensate for an uncomfortable night.

    Excellent location for the city centre and train station. Was good to have breakfast included in the price and the meal was good. Staff were efficient at checking us in and helpful with storing luggage prior to our check in time. The free newspapers and magazines were much appreciated.

    The room was small and although the bathroom was in working order it needs redecorating. The bed was very hard and not comfortable. There were not enough pillows for us both.
