    "We did not get past reception. The hotel claimed that my booking was not on their system and yet the day before they had actually phoned me to promote their leisure services." (108969219)

    The hotel was full. I was simply told that I would have to find alternative accommodation. Instead I returned home and out of interest tried to book a room directly with the hotel chain. Strangely, three different rooms were offered both on the internet and by the telephone reservation service. I am still awaiting a response to my complaint despite it being twenty four hours past the time the duty manager said he would contact me.

    We requested early entry into our room as we were attending my god-daughters wedding and needed the time to get organised. This was obviously taken on board by your establishment as we only waited 10 minutes before being given access. This allowed us to get ready at a leisurely pace to arrive in plenty time for the ceremony.

    We originally made our booking through the internet. The process itself was pretty painless and convenient but it seems somewhere down the line, despite receiving confirmation, the booking had been cancelled. I ultimately had to go directly through the hotel to rectify. I would probably use the internet again as I'm not sure where the error occurred or who was responsible. However, I reckon I'd be making double checks to ensure that all is definitely in order. With regard to your menu - although I never ate in the hotel, one glance at the prices of your food would've changed my mind even if I was starving. I'm no miser and I accept that you pay a bit more in these type of surroundings but your prices were a bit adventurous. On speaking to some other guests, I can confirm that we were not the only ones who felt this.

    Minor grouse. I arrived on my bike at about 5 o'clock soaked through by the rain, desperate for a hot bath. The water was luke warm!

    "We were disappointed with the standard of the facilities and the quality of finishing in the bedroom. The prices in the hotel for food were a lot, but there was a Harvester nearby. If you are thinking of having breakfast book it in advance, as £9.95 per person in advance or £14.95 if you just walk into the restaurant." (108617813)

    Very central location and a relatively quick check-in process.

    The cleanliness of the spa and pool area was not great, as there were used plasters on the floor, old newspapers still on the loungers and dirt and hair in the shower areas. We were the first ones in the area when it opened on the Saturday morning, so it wasn't a case of other guests having ruined the standards before we got there. I am 7.5 months pregnant so this may be more of an issue for me than it normally would be. The electric wall sockets in the room were loose from the wall too which was a big concern for us, and we were thankful that we didn't have any children with us. Finally, the air conditioning didn't work in our room, so we had to have the window open. Our room overlooked the front of the hotel and the busy A road.

    Staff attitude excellent, particularly in restuarant

    Trouser press in Thorpe suite not working. Bath robes not in suite. Asparagus starter very expensive. £6 for three stems of asparagus is way over the top. Why no Freeview on the TV system? Internet access quite slow.

    "Had a very enjoyable stay. The fact that you accepted dogs was the main reason I chose your hotel but it was clean, friendly and well situated for where my daughter had to get to every day for her competitions. " (108773546)

    the hotel allowed pets and there were no problems with them walking through the foyer to the room. Staff were friendly. Room was large enough. I liked that there were also two chairs and a table, not just a bed to sit on.

    "Very good location for where relatives and the wedding we attended were (Brigstock, Thrapston). Fabulous breakfast spread in the morning & food in the restaurant was very nice and fairly reasonably prices although soft drinks are a bit pricey. Good big carpark so no worries of not being able to put the car anywhere." (97040148)

    Hotel was lovely and we got an excellent deal on the price - would definitely stay there again.

    The only negative thing we could say about our stay is that the shower in the room wasn't the best shower in the world - but it worked !

    Good housekeeping standards, unintrusive routine. We left the notice on the door and the room was cleaned before we returned from breakfast, very proficient. The hairdryer was located near to the dressing table mirror and everything in the room worked perfectly.

    Nothing really, except we could have used a few more hangers in the wardrobe, not enough for two of us.

    "The fire alarm rang at 4am and there were no staff to be seen on the corridors marshalling guests or giving any help,direction etc. The food was appalling. The evening meal was bland and tasteless.The chicken pasta bake was luke warm on arrival.I was given another but it was unsatisfactory. The service was long and drawn out. Arrived at 7pm and refused coffee at 9.45pm. The restaurant was busy and the staff could not cope." (97023077)

    "Overall a very good hotel and our stay was calm and hassle free. We used this hotel to stay at when visiting Santa Pod Raceway which wasn't too far a drive. The hotel is a short drive from a 24hr Asda (including petron station)which was convenient as the hotel was very expensive for drinks. I had a large glass of wine with my meal which cost over " (97925536)

    Plenty of parking, good leisure facilities and nice sized room. Staff were friendly and helpful.

    I booked 2 nights but on checking in I was told they would refund me half my money due to only staying 1 night - very confusing, but worked it out in the end!! Only 1 large towel in bathroom when got to room - service of more towels delivered was very good.

    "I booked several rooms in this hotel for a party of friend/relatives and my husband and myself as we were attending a family party in the area.     Really good sized room, curtains blocked light well, hair dryer and press, chair & table in room, nice bed & linen. Extra pillows

    Large gap bottom of room door, shower temperature control stiff. One of the towels dirty.

    "had I known noisy other guests wrer staying. No i would not have booked. Had I known I may have to share a room with other quests i did not Know. no i would not have booked. Had I known the lift was turned off because of children staying and no offer to turn the lift on, my husband is disabled. I was very dissapointed. Had i known that my room was not booked.     From the outside the hotel looked smart

    No prior knowledge of our stay, booking was not on the hotel reservation. First room booked into already occupied, could have been VERY embarrasing for both parties. Other hotel guests were partying on our floor between 04;00-0600, running along corridors, swearing banging doors, took many guests complaints to stop the noise. No lift in use as there were children staying !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Bed was comfy, room was warm, selection of pillows

    Only one casual armchair per room. TV very poor quality. No inner door on room to keep noise down from people in corridor - was awoken at 2:00 in the morning on one night.

    "Checking out they got my room service bill wrong, also over charged me for breakfast. Pointed this out and they then gave me the breakfast free. But left in a very bad mood for a meeting. Shame as the room was ok." (99133297)

    Our room and bathroom were clean, fresh and in a lovely quiet area of the Hotel. I was particularly pleased as we had requested a quiet area.

    There was nothing we disliked, but would have liked some drawer space. There were problems with the lift, and we had to take our luggage down two floors, which was a bit of a bind as everyone else was trying to do the same time.

    "Everything was great with our stay, the staff were very friendly even when we couldnt get a table in the resturant until 9 pm the young lady made sure we were comfortble and had drinks. All in all a good weekend" (2952274)

    The accomodation was good although i would have liked to change to a twin room but i left it too late

    maybe the pricing of things could be reviewed as maybe the breakfast waas a bit expenssive
