    The quirky layout of my room (in the annexe) was really fun. The bed was amazingly comfortable and there was delicious Twinings English Breakfast tea for me in the morning.

    The bathroom was tiny and smelled bad, and the towels were threadbare and not white enough - obviously well used.

    "The hotel had no knowledge of our booking but fortunatley they were able to find a room in the annexe for us. The breakfast was very good as was the evening meal(not included in price).     Small room No 18.TV very poor reception & only 3 channels tuned in.One of the bar staff did not understand english.

    In a beautiful location right on the stream

    Didn't appreciate the noise of a lorry running its engine under our window at 7.15am until 8am which is an ongoing problem every Thursday morning at the hotel.

    "We thought of booking for two nights but were glad we didn't. The hotel was basic and the room utterly devoid of any charm or character. It simply ticked basic boxes by being clean and tidy.     "Our room was in the roof. Lots of stairs probably impossible to instal lift but would have been nice. Only customer comfort recomendation - the room was very hot and stuffy - having a fan in the room would have been great. Fortunately we were prepared and carried a fan with us!!!" (3304911889)

    "The hotel was ideally situated in the beautiful village of Bourton on the water. The staff were very friendly and helpful however the room was not up to the standard we had expected and the beds were not very comfortable (new mattresses required). If we were to stay again I would request a room in the main part of the hotel. The hotel bar was very smokey so unable to enjoy a drink in that part of the hotel." (3304885190)

    Stayed in the cottage part of the hotel. Not very impressed with room as staircase steep and narrow and room very basic, not up to the standard that we had expected.

    Very good central position in the town. Breakfast was very good & the waitress was very friendly. Reception Manager was also very friendly.

    Bedroom window was stuck open. Bedroom was also very dark. Didn't like having wash basin in the bedroom.

    quiet location

    bedrooms very small. Shower cubicle far too small. Pillows x 2 absolutely useless and flat as pancakes! dirty cushions on bed which had blood stains on - this was our first impression of the room and to be basically honest put me off your hotel.

    "The hotel was not worth over £100 a room. If it is to command that sort of money significant improvements need to be made. The hotel was not bad enough to formally complain but was not good enough for me to recommend." (2754984)

    Basic and tired. In need of refurbishment.

    The Bedrooms need to be refurished and the quality of the breakfast needs to be improved.

    "The bedrooms were filthy. We had to ask that the bed be made up with sheets only, as we didn't want the blankets anywhere near our bodies. The bathroom was awful - I would not take a bath, and when we ran the shower, the water would not drain away due to the congestion in the pipes. The basin had been wiped with what looked like a dry, dirty cloth, and the toilet had not seen a bottle of bleach in I don't know how long. We tried to get alternative accommodation in the village but there was no availability, so we were stuck with this hotel. It was very disappointing as the weekend break was a gift from our daughter. It was most definitely not worth the £105 per night." (2466753)

    From the outside it had so much promise, we were very excited to be there - although this was very short lived.
