    Staff very friendly and efficient

    Only bad point was - there was no towel rail in bathroom and no where in shower to put your soap or shower gel - but not too inconvenient

    Some of the fittings in the bathroom were missing/broken. A bit noisy outside the hotel.

    Convenient to local ameneties. Staff nice/helpful. Food fine.

    Rough shape. Worn carpets. Broken fixtures. No soap in public toilets. Needs a face lift badly.

    Overall hotels have been good,ideal for what you need central and handy for every ameninity,shops,bars,restaurants&transport links

    Room was fine,could do with so TLC but ideal for seeing the sights and shops in Glasgow

    "Very near Central station, hotel is B&B only, but there are numerous restaurents, other hotels and pubs to eat in and a Tesco at the end of the block. The absence of Internet in the room was a pain in this day and age, but overall, excellent staff and excellent value for money." (108159066)

    "The hotel was in a prime location for our purpose, area is run down but with signs of renovation and as long as you get past the scruffy reception you should be happy with the accomodation." (107437225)

    The room and ensuite were very good, clean & tidy and had everything needed. Breakfast was buffet style and had a good selection - staff were attentive.

    The reception area is not the most inviting and may make you feel a bit apprehensive about the rooms. The common areas are also quite run down but it would seem that a renovation programme is in progress and if its done to meet the standards of the bedrooms then it should be a good holiday and good value for money.

    The staff were extremely charming, helpful and friendly. Lots of hot water for bath/shower.

    Rooms were very hot - not enough opportunity for ventilation without letting in traffic noise but we appreciate the hotel is undergoing renovation and this may be remedied in the future.

    Location

    In bad need of renovation. Rooms dated and in need of decoration as are public areas. First room offered so bad would not stay in it.

    It was quiet which was good. can book room online which is great.

    tv didn't work, when paying receptionist cancelled card as it was getting checked(i worked for bank) shower screen was useless.

    Hotel was ideally located in town centre. The breakfest was excellent.

    Parking could be a problem. We were fortunate as we manage to get a parking lot just opposite the hotel.

    Clenlinness of the room and the rest of the hotel. Everything was clean crisp and new even though it was an old victorian building.There was a more than adequate amount of tea and coffee in the room.

    Room was very nice, clean and modern, bathroom especially lovely. TV was pretty much brand new and bed comfortable.

    Far too hot in the room, window didn't open as we were on the 5th floor so really could have done with air conditioning! General decor of main areas and corridors of hotel needs a bit of work/updating to match the lovely rooms.

    Very friendly staff. excellent breakfast. Excellent value for money I would recommend to anyone. Adjacent to Central station & City Centre is a bonus

    nothing really bad. hotel is a little run down as might be expected forits age. problem with a slow draining shower 9partly blocked drain - could happen anywhere0

    Excellent value for money. Staff very efficient and friendly. Bathroom very clean. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice.

    Breakfast was self service which was good , in that you could help your self to what you wanted. Hotel is very central to city centre.

    Room didn't compare to that shown on the website.Room was clean and comfortable, but very well worn. In need of refurbishment.

    The hotel is well located, good value for money, and the staff is nice.

    it is not that well maintained, it is a beautiful building, that has been left to bad decorating for too long.

    Inter net access , but you had to go to another floor to get the access and stay in that room. ????

    No internet access in the room - very badly decorated room - unclean - bed to soft - room cold - tv not working correctly - just needed Basil Fawlty to show up !! (I have stayed at 6 Hotels in Glasgow around the same price, this one was not in my top ten).

    Good service, large clean room, large clean bathroom, friendly reception staff

    Dated interior, annoying lift, multiple stains on carpet, heating wouldn't work and room was cold when we got there, no free parking although advertised as such!!

    We asked for directions at reception and they couldnt provide us with them. A map of the local area would have been a good idea,as we booked hotel as it was described on the web as close to the Carling academy.

    noisy town centre street - no double glazing curtains / towels tatty although clean paintwork/ walls looked undecorated for a long time there was a fire in the next door building and our room smelled of smoke, however no offer of relocation to another room was made
