    Ease of booking on Active Hotels and proximity to my destination. Everything worked, apart from unhelpful response from check-out staff (and a lumpy bed).

    Hotel just rather sterile. Reception really unhelpful, refused to print a document from a memory stick - definitely not the place for business travellers.

    Easy check in - and was available earlier than outlined (ie 3 hours early) which was good.

    Limited Customer parking - bar/restaurant/breakfast room is all one room so very little ambiance for evening drink.

    Staff excellent, food good, rooms very clean with great views over the ocean.

    Staff were very understanding about my distress over the lack of parking.

    Very poor parking facilities. Web site stated that there was adequate parking which is untrue. Only 16 parking slots avaialable!

    Very nice and polite staff in all areas that i visited

    Someone had added a meal to bill by mistake which when spotted was dealt with and removed. The lady who checked me out dealt with this and could not have been more pleasant.

    dining area little cramped but hotel was busy so maybe stagger meal times a bit better. Although the food was very good maybe if poss more variety accomadation and food could have been slightly cheaper considering the hotel is the main town hotel unless the summer prices help off load the winter slump

    Lots of space in the room. Asked for a sea view and i received one. Nice decor. Tea/Coffee facilities.

    Very hot in the room and the windows did not open fully. There was a drip in the shower head which was a bit annoying.

    The room was clean and tidy with a double bed and a single bed. There was room for an armchair which would have better facilitated relaxed reading instead of using the bed or the small table chairs provided.

    unfortunately the residents in the room above ours kept us awake all night despite the staffs best efforts asking them to keep the volume down.this continued until around 6 am.

    "Friendly, helpful and witty staff. Nice modern surroundings. We got parked in the underground hotel car park, but this was probably because it was the beginning of a week out of season. Because of the location of the hotel it was nice to be able to walk right out to the street and have access to shops, other pubs and amenities." (97781964)

    We had a front room which had great views off the area and the sea. It was great waking up to that view. Would certainly ask for a front room in future.

    "Generally a very good and well located hotel. It was let down slightly by the stench of cigarettes in our room as if someone had just been smoking 20 fags the day before. As it was past 12 by this point we didn't feel like complaining so didn't mention anything until checkout. Other slight disappointment was that the hotel bar shut at 12!" (99598673)

    "The room was fine and reasonable value. The service in the public bar was good and the selection of bar meals good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was also good quality and staff were very helpful. Tables for 2 were on the small side and close together. The advice about when to go for breakfast (red, amber and green times) seemed a bit bizarre. Obviously if everyone is told that the best (i.e. green) time is from 7am to 830am, then the likelihood of everyone going at this time is much increased and will defeat the object. The worst part of our stay was, on arrival, getting car parked. The traffic (Sunday mid afternoon) in Portrush was horrendous, nose to tail and very slow moving. As we approached the hotel, we couldn't see how to get to hotel parking - I stopped at front entrance and my wife went into Reception and asked, and learned that we had to 'go round the block' again, to get to the turn into the car park entrance. Going round again took a further 20 minutes and was very frustrating at the end of a long drive. There should be signings as one approaches the hotel, making it clear how to get to the car park. Apparently we were also 'lucky' to get a space in the car park. I can't imagine what we would have done if there had been no spaces - there should be sufficient spaces for all hotel guests' cars."     Spacious, airy room, great sea view. Ensuite bathroom had quality fittings, floor and wall tiles and all very clean.
