    The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was very reasonable and of good quality.

    The matresses were rather creeky

    Overall the experience was good. Friendly staff, helpful,good menu and the food was also good.

    On our arrival our booking could not be found on the computer. Luckily there was some accommodation available.

    staff very helpful and it was a great place to do our stopover. The food was great and ambience of the hotel and bar were very relaxing.

    The toilet was a little tempermental in our room, also the shower was difficult for us to maintain on a regular setting. We did pass this on.

    spacious accommodation (in 3 parts bathroom, lounge and bedroom), well laid out and very comfortable. A joy to have a lounge area with sofa and TV, rather than just the usual bedroom and bathroom combination

    Pleasant staff. Some character to hotel and room. Choice of tea, coffee, chocolate, also biscuits. Good breakfast. Some (if limited)choice of evening meals. Good parking facilities.

    Tired, shabby decoration and furniture. Bed not brilliantly comfortable and only one pillow. Broken equipment (lights; TV remote). Shower rather awkward. Very limited TV channels. Some noise fron Disco on Saturday night.

    Large room with lots of space Good food

    Hadnt keyed our reservation into the system so had given the room allocated to us away. However found us another similar room. Website doesnt allow you to put children as occupants so had to call rather than book through the web Shower didnt work

    Welcoming, warm atmosphere, plently of parking, quiet and convenient. All staff helpful and friendly. Room was spacious and clean but basic. Plenty of storage space.

    Breakfast not brilliant. Poor quality ingredients - but it was reasonably well-cooked and the service was good. Coffee was instant and horrid! No breakfast menu, had to guess what was available.

    Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good value for money. An excellent base to visit the area.

    Not all the staff seemed to be properly trained (just a little mix up with the breakfast order)- but they were friendly enough and always willing to help.

    Very convenient for Haynes Motor Museum - country pub - looked nice on the outside.

    Evening food poor - very bland. Room looked tired - could do with cleaning/redecoration and definitely vacuuming! Would have been nice if we'd been asked if we'd like more coffee for breakfast (1 small jug supplied) and 1 round of toast each!

    "The hotel was situated in a nice location, staff was very pleasamt and friendly. Good service and fine food. While we have often found the type of charm associated with such "older" inns quaint and enjoyable, perhaps age has led us to now prefer newer, more modern accommodations. After spending a full day driving/site seeing....it was nice to be able to still get a fine full meal late in the evening. But on that same note, one also, perhaps even more importantly would like to be able to relax and recouperate in a comfortable, "modern" room. Obviously, due to the age of the hotel, certain limitations will exist and I am not faulting that. One can deal with the sloping floors or narrow rooms, but, aside from that, the type/condition/softness of the bed, the functioning or lack of some sort of modern air conditioning, and the condition of the bath facilites are all well within the scope of things that can be modernized, changed or improved."     Staff service, attitude and performance was excellent. Food was also excellent. Served dinner late, which is good for (at least American) travelers. Very accommodating all around and friendly.

    Extremely hard/uncomfortable bed. Fair but overall inadequate hot water. Some facilities seemed to need attention....for example, rust and corrosion, peeling paint in shower stall. Hot and still air...no airflow, old window did not allow for much ventilation, could have used a fan or similar at least. Poor lighting near the beds....not high enough for reading.

    It is an adequate stay, but lacks the homely feel that a non-chain pub would have. The same goes for the food.

    General décor and shower room need refurbishment the shower was not very easy to get in and out of and the water flow not very good.

    "The accommodation was close to the A303 and in general quite pleasant. The staff were helpful and although it was a set menu for Valentine's night (very reasonable) we were offered the normal menu if we cared to wait, which we considered most helpful. Public areas were clean and welcoming. Breakfast was quite good although they seemed understaffed at the time of our visit and things did not alwaiys arrive in the right order. Would recommend and stay again if rooms were in better decorative order but, to be fair, this could be in progress and, being one nighters, we were probably given the worst room." (97275961)

    The pub was quite nice, prices reasonable and food okay

    The decorative order was extremely poor with regard to the bedroom, windows did not open and peeling wallpaper.Outside decorative order poor.

    Spacious, good parking, friendly staff, convenient location for A303

    Dirty toilet, inadequate shower - very little water came out of it, and the temperature varied from extremely hot to very cold.
