    room was next to air conditioning fan, noisy during the night and fumes enetered the room. Staff were not sympathetic.

    Room was comfortable and there were extra pillows and towels, very clean and well presented

    tried to book a non smoking room and was given a smoking room which smelt still fairly strongly of cigarettes. This meant having to try and sleep with the window open for most of the night finally closing in the early hours due to getting a dry, rough throat from the cooler air. My clothing smelt of cigarette smoke when I got changed in the morning. There was a problem with the drinks machine not giving out drinks and it was very warm that weekend.

    Room was clean and quite nice, ok for just staying in. Shower was good, kettle was really old and took ages to boil.

    Breakfast was awful, the drinks were rubbish, the one that stated 'strong coffee' was really weak, as was the flavour of the chocolate milk, and the fresh orange juice was like weak diluted robinsons or something, we missed breakfast completely the second morning.

    First impressions were very good. Clean, modern hotel with lovely decor. Room very good, comfy bed and quiet when it matter most, at night.

    I found the breakfast experience very poor indeed. There were no staff to welcome you, neither were there staff on reception. Consequently a large queue formed. My family and I had to find an empty table and then having found one, had to clean it ourselves. Tea mugs in short supply. Very chaotic and unorganised. The two members of staff that were there looked very stressed!! There was Man U game that weekend, however if the hotel was expecting to be full I feel that it could have been adequately staffed. Bad service in that regard!!

    Stay was pleasant, Staff dealt with me quickly and efficiently.

    Food & service at the adjoining public house was far from god. Quite a few items requested from the menu including tea, coffee etc were not available.

    Room temperature was great, bed was comfy, shower was very nice. Ordering a taxi to go to the Manchester Apollo was easy. Breakfast was perfectly adequate.

    The no cash at the bar policy after a certain time is a bit strange but I'm sure you have your reasons. Didn't bother me because we didn't use the bar, but on check out we were held up whilst someone's bill was not accepted because the authorization didn't go through with the bar tab included and the receptionist needed to process another transaction.

    Damp patch in bedroom causing large stain to wallpaper Lack of air conditioning - very warm & stuffy Requested non-smoking room but was given a smoking room although no smell evident. Breakfast very crowded on first day with not enough tables. Would have appreciated some hot choices. Choice of places to eat nearby very limited.

    Very clean with friendly staff. Amenities were basic but overall good.

    Bed wasn't very comfy with a very thin cover. We overstayed checking out time by five minutes and were called by reception staff. They were friendly enough but they could have given us a few minutes in grace before rushing us out the door.

    "Overall on our stays before we have had no cause to be dissapointed. On this occassion we had been woken up with by a very drunk person trying in the early hours of the morning to enter our room and kept trying, he also tried the opposite room as well, after about 15 mins he, I assume, went down in the lift. After this it was a case of very noisy people knocking on doors again in the very early hours of the morning. We will stay again but if the same sort of behaviour is allowed we would not."     The first great thing to mention was the wonderful smell, when we entered the room. Everything smelled as if it was washed in Dove soap. The bed was good. TV worked. Towels were quite large and cosy. Breakfast was okay.

    You could offer at least one german TV channel.

    "The hotel effectively does what it says on the tin. I read good and bad reviews about the place (after booking) and was in general, pleasantly surprised. Clean, modern, comfortable and warm, with an excellent shower, and pleasant and informative staff. For what the hotel promises, and for the price, I would have little hesitation in staying again. On the negative side, I was not favourably impressed by the breakfast. The coffee was poor, and the croissants inedible. One further point, the Fire Alarms went off at about 5.45a.m. and after standing in the car park, half dressed, for some 45 freezing mins we were permitted to return to our rooms. However, there was no general explanation/apology, or even announcement, from the staff. Nobody directly spoke to us at all! I know an alarm is not something that could be foreseen, but someone could have come out and explained what was happening, and what was likely to happen. Just one of those things, or poor customer services?" (97355578)

    "the hotel is advertised as being 1 mile from manchester city stadium it is closer to 3 miles and not really a good neighbourhood to walk in after nightfall. we were staying there to attend a concert in the stadium but on reflection next time i will probably choose the city centre." (99741575)

    "From arriving at the hotel the outside appearance was nice and clean. The staff were very friendly upon checking in. The room was clean, tidy and well laid out. The bed was very comfortable and we all had a good nights sleep. Breakfast which was self service was sufficient as there was plenty of choice. An overall enjoyable stay with no problems."     "Booking wasn't easy because there was a big concert on in Manchester that weekend. I think this was available because it was a bit more expensive than the other budget hotels. I took my email/receipt but it didn't include directions to the hotel- good job I had my A-Z. Room spot on - very clean and everything we needed. Staff were great. Breakfast was nice, not much fruit though, or natural yogurt. Pub/restaurant next door was fine." (99334939)
