    Staff and Restaurant

    The No Smoking rule brought in January was a big disappointment, prior to this stay I have always been able to smoke in your hotel.

    Not to far from the main town.

    Not enough plug sockets and being a women will need them near the mirror.When booking on line the customer can only use a credit card and some poeple do not have, and may found this a problem when booking to stay at this hotel.

    Reception and main building were all in good order and quite modern. Nice breakfast.

    Actual rooms are very dated and in need of modernosation. Doors and windows do not give complete privacy, lighting is poor.

    Easy to find and book in etc very handy for my work near by.

    Food bland and tasteless. Room very plain and no hair dryer in room. Heater did not work very well in the cold weather on night of stay.

    Convenient for travelling to destination next morning

    Bathroom light flickered on and off. Biscuit wrapper had been left under plastic information board on wall. Contadiction in price of breakfast - internet quoted £6.95 - was told had gone up to £7.95 (also £6.95 on info board in room)

    All of the yogurts that were served were out of date and the fruit salad was fermenting!

    Very clean and well maintained room. Pleased to see tea making facilities and soap and shampoo and that they were restocked each morning of the stay. Friendly and efficient receptionist.

    Seems a little over the top to provide credit card detail on reservation, checkin and checkout but this was the only (minor) negative.

    Good location+local amenities, clean, comfortable beds, flexible with restaurant on site to use as required. Good parking.

    Close to busy road-no outlook. Quite basic room. Plain decor- no character.

    Speedy online booking Very friendly and helpful staff The room I changed to was much quieter because it was not so near the dual carriageway.

    The room I was initially allocated had been a smoking room and had a very strong odour of stale tocacco smoke. The staff were very willing to facilitate a change of room when I asked, but had this not been possible I would ahve found it very difficult to sleep or work in the allocated room. There should be a choice on the site if ex-smoking rooms are an option. The rooms are OK so far as basic facilities and layout are concerned but there is no reading lamp to work by at the desk area ant the tiled bathroom floor makes it feel quite spartan.

    I liked the layout of the hotel. Plenty of trees and grass gave it a very nice feel.

    The cleaning in the bathroom could have been better, slight smell. Some of the buildings could do with a repaint

    Good room maintained well for budget range.Attentive and friendly staff

    The restaurant. evening meals were small portions and although competitively priced were not sufficient in size to be considered good value for money. I did not have breakfast at all during my stay as a fixed price menu is of poor value to myself as I only eat toast and coffee at breakfast.

    Clean - loved the set out of the rooms - like chalet holiday camp style. Reminded me of butlins!

    no 3 pin plug socket as my husband needs to use a machine at night to breathe during the night it was a bit akward and he did have a disturbed night sleep
