    The hotel's large, safe parking facility is very useful indeed, especially in a town like Honfleur where the street parking is very limited.

    Excellent bedroom and bathroom was thougtfully designed. Lots of character in patron and hotel. Calm surroundings.

    Buffet breakfast sounded very exciting, but in reality was extremly dull.

    Safe car-parking in the hotel forecourt. Bedroom was very clean with very interesting period furniture. Bathroom was very modern with a pressure shower.

    Breakfast could have been better considering the cost.

    "We had a highly enjoyable three night stay at L'Ecrin and would return again. The hotel provides an excellent base for exploring the museums, galleries, restaurants and sights of old Honfleur on foot, and for touring the Calvados region - Rouen and Caen are both around an hour's drive and the countryside all around is fabulous. We did not take any meals at the hotel, preferring to eat out in Honfleur, but the hotel's dining facilities looked excellent." (107656865)

    A charming French hotel in manor house style with welcoming and friendly 'patron' and hotel staff. Very well located 5 minutes walk from the centre of old Honfleur. Beautiful house and gardens oozing charm and character. Parking on site. Ideally placed for exploring the Calvados region.

    None at all; we couldn't fault it, it was just what we wanted.

    There was ample parking. A good, almost central location in Honfleur. The hotel was unusual and full of character; the public rooms of the main building were packed with interesting objets d'art. Most of the bedrooms appeared to be in an eclectic mix of small buildings in the grounds (expect stairs and steps) with interesting bits of garden tucked amongst them. The whole effect is much more like a small 19th century French country house than a hotel. Situated up a very narrow back street, there was absolutely no traffic noise. The hotel seems to be very secure; large entrance gates are locked at night and one has to press a security button to get in.

    In common with many other French hotels, there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and, whilst the bathroom and separate toilet were large, the actual bedroom was a little on the small side. There was no decent shower, only a hand-held one which was a disappointment.

    "Honfleur lived up to our expectations and the Hotel fitted in very well with the period feel of the town. We were able to walk anywhere we needed to from the hotel which was nice in the evening after a glass or two with supper. The hotel was relaxed, friendly and charming. we were very relaxed and would return happily." (97643811)

    The shower! it was great. We liked the 'antique' feel to the hotel and the relaxed feel. The bathroom was contemporary and very good. Well situated for the town and good parking as Honfleur is a bit tight for car space.

    Nothing realy, perhaps a kettle and tea in the room?

    "L'ecrin Hotel was only a couple of minutes walk from the harbour and was quiet with good free parking.First impressions were not good as the carpet on the stairs was very dusty and badly needed hoovering. Although the room was big and realtively clean and comfortable, the house is old and could do with some re-decorating; some may call this character. The room we had was on the second floor; the winding stairs where fairly steep and there was no lift, so depending on your fitness it may be wise to ask for a room on a lower floor" (99367855)

    Good free parking. Large room, comfortable beds and arm chairs.Gentleman on reception very polite and friendly.

    Paint work needed attention, bathroom tiles cracked and heating poor. Stairs needed a good hoover and dust.
