    "A lovely place to stay, and situated half way between our house at Souillac Country Club and Caen for the ferry." (108946007)

    Beautiful building and outlook, and close to the chateau and pretty town; we partly chose this hotel because of private parking.

    After a long drive we would have preferred the hotel to have had a restaurant - we did have a delicious breakfast in very pretty room, with excellent smiling service. Sorry, but did not at all like the gold and maroon colour scheme in our room and rather dull lighting - although the view was stunning, the bed comfortable and bathroom excellent.

    "Civilised, comfortable and spacious accommodation providing an ideal refuge from the bustle of Amboise, itself a good centre for exploring the Loire. Breakfast served in elegant surroundings within the imposing main house, about 40 metres from our accommodation in the cottage near the entrance. Convenient parking, secured at night behind locked gates, further contributes to an altogether relaxing stay." (97149235)

    The feel of a country house hotel but one conveniently located within a five minute walk of the busy centre of Amboise. Excellent service from personable and attentive staff.

    The staff were very attentive, the hotel was in a great location, and it was charming and very clean. The children loved the dog! On our trip we stayed in 6 other hotels, this one ranked in the top 2. The other hotels were all 4 and 5 star.

    "The hotel is very close to everything in Ambroise. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and are lovely, we really enjoyed our stay here and would return again. It is also very good value for the price. There is no restaurant though but plenty to choose from in the little town." (99132049)

    We liked the location of the hotel, not far from restaurants. It is a charming place and the rooms a lovely. (Could benefit from 2 bedside lights in the room)

    "The hotel is ideally located for touring the Loire valley and is only minutes from the delightful centre of town in Amboise where there are many good restaurants and a lively evening atmosphere. We found out most of what we needed to know from the website and booked deliberately to be near to Chenonceaux which was a short drive away but did not realise that only a walk from the hotel would take us to the Chateau Royale and also to the Chateau Du Clos Luce (Da Vinci's last home) This was a real bonus and was the delightful accomodation at the hotel which was far better than expected and really good value for money when compared to other hotels we had stayed in."     I was very luxurious yet comfortable and welcoming at the same time. Everything was scrupulously clean.

    "always a question if the hotel will meet to your standard. therefore an objective review of the people who stayed there is more than helpfull and makes a choice. we loved the hotel and the staff, the room we were in (under the roof) have so much character an a good price/value, it was clean and the hotel is very near to everything. if you want to go to the Loire, you are in the center of everything. we went for hiking and biking. they do a lot of effort but it is not yet finished."     "This hotel is wonderful! No need to look any place else. The lovely town of Amboise is just a 3 minute walk from the Manor, the Chateau of Amboise is at your doorstep as is the Loire. You can also walk to the Clos the Luce in just a few minutes. You can drive easily to Chambord, Blois, Chennanceau, Tours and many of the other Chateaus.     "This is a beautiful hotel, very helpful staff and luxurious accommodation. Great location, easy walk into Amboise centre. A little on the pricey side, given there are no leisure facilities and no real bar or restaurant facilities (170 euros per night, additional 11 euros pp for a fairly basic breakfast)." (2650771)

    Hotel and grounds were beautiful, very high standard of accommodation, air conditioned rooms.

    Better bar/leisure facilities - options were very limited. In a hotel of this calibre/price, I would expect restaurant facilities(although they were very helpful in recommending/booking one for us).

    "The perfect place for a romantic break. We stayed in a suite which I would recommend. Beautiful big bathroom. There isn't a restaurant in the hotel, but they do keep copies of a large number of local restaurant menus in reception for you to browse. Easy walk to the centre of town. Secure parking." (2456159)

    "My fiance and I were agreably surprised by the tastful and discreet French elegance of the hotel. This was the kind of place one dream to find to really enjoy a few days in the French countryside. The staff was charming, engaging, and very professional from the minute we stepped in. The location right in Amboise, facing the river and the chateau, and an easy walk to the town's center, was most convenient. There is no restaurant in the hotel. However, there are plenty of dining places within walking distance from pizzerias to haute cuisine. Breakfast is served in a beautiful room off the looby and salons." (2382038)

    The overall elegant style of the establishment and friendly & polite staff.

    Parking spaces could be better marked so that more cars could park in the parking area. Some guests took more space then necessary to park their vehicules leaving less available space for the remaining guests.

    El edificio por fuera es precioso, por dentro, resulta un hotel muy acogedor y agradable. Las habitaciones están muy bien decoradas.La cama era de 190x180, una maravilla y el baño muy amplio. Además, está a un par de minutos andando del centro de Amboise.

    "This place is as good as you could hope for re location, quality of furnishings. We staying in a superior room but the hotel itself is high spec. I don't know if all rooms overlook the green at the front of the hotel, but worthwhile asking if not - assuming same price of course! One tip is, if planning a special dining experience while staying in this hotel, the 'Choiseul' is a Michelin one-star is recommended. There is a 50 euro menu and a degustation menu at around 100. Service is quite aloof which is almost to be expected, but food quality and room is excellent. Before you go to the restaurant, have a half bottle of vino (or whatever you fancy!) sitting out in front of the Manoir then walk the 30 metres to the restaurant. Painless as no cars required etc. The final word is that restaurant recommended by the Manoir (can't remember the name) for an evening meal is OK as opposed to stunning. If you want an authentic French dining experience, this isn't really it. Enjoy!" (2567714)

    Location in Amboise is very good, near town centre. The quality of the furnishings and fittings are top end- the whole place is well maintained

    Hard to find areas of improvement, perhaps the breakfast (which I think is quite good value at around 12 euro) could have better selection of cereals, juices etc but difficult really to fault

    The room was well appointed with a good mix of traditional furnishings and modern conveniences.

    The continental breakfast was a bit pricey; many similar hotels include breakfast with the room price.

    "The staff was very helpful in advising about local restaurants and we had two exquisite meals, one in Amboise and the other in a town nearby. The Manior is right on the Loire and has a lovely view of the Chateau de Amboise. It really was perfect! We did have the best room, but it was worth the extra expense -- a large lovely corner sitting room with windows overlooking the courtyard and the Chateau on one side and the River on the other. The bed was king size and the bathroom large and modern with jacuzzi tub, WC, glass enclosed shower, two sinks, great robes. It couldn't have been better!" (1598665)

    The Manoir and the setting is beautiful and centrally located in the Loire Valley. The accommodations were classy and comfortable. The staff were extraordinarily gracious, especially since we arrived long after they usually went home. I would recommend Le Manior Les Minimes extremely highly and I certainly intend to return.
