    Pleasant accommodation, good position in the town, hotel had character

    No air conditioning, thus stuffy and hot at night, noisy (at front of hotel). Sometimes not enough towels.

    "The hotel has got lots of character with beautiful furniture and wonderful paintings. The Location is ideal for travel from Chambrey airport as it only took us 10mins to get there (on a Sunday morning)normally it would take about 20mins. The car was parked in a safe underground car park just next to the hotel. Because the hotel is in such a central location it was easy to find and had lots of nice eating places and shops on the doorstep. The gothic quarter has lots of interesting and typically French buildings, which are lovely to walk around." (97167866)

    The family room we had was fantastic, loads of space for the four of us - the best family room we have ever stayed in. The shower was so powerful you couldn't have it on full! The room was warm beautifully decorated and very clean.

    No Tea/Coffee making facilities in the room.

    It was a lovely large room and the hotel was very well situated in the town. The breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful.

    "We all enjoyed our stay, the children were made very welcome, all the staff were very friendly and the rooms were spacious. We stayed in a room which has space for up to six adults which is excellent for larger families. Breakfast was a good quality continental style We look forward to our next visit!!!" (99761964)

    The bed was a little too firm for a full night's sleep. Plus it had a rubber undersheet which is not appropriate to a hotel of this standard.

    "The room had a very good central location and was very close to the tourist office. The room was very clean and neat but for the price it seemed small. The staff was very helpful and most spoke English. The breakfast seemed overpriced for what you got." (99223002)

    "Overall the quality of the hotel and its location was very good being just a 5 minutes walk from the train & bus station. Although in the centre of the town there was no noise from traffic. The hotel reception was manned 24hrs and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast which cost 8.50euros offered a good selection of croissants & pain au chocolates as well as cereal, yoghurts, ham & cheese, boiled eggs, toast, fruit juices etc. Breakfast was served between 7am-10am. Although there is not a great deal to see in Chambery you could enjoy a full day shopping & sightseeing, eating in a local restaurant. Train & bus links are good. A 15 mins train ride will take you to Aix Les Bains, a pleasant small town with a lake (15 mins walk to the lake from the centre of the town). You can also visit the town of Annecy (approx 1hr by train). An attractive town (with a good local market when we visited on a Tuesday) which is alongside Lake Annecy. You can also visit Grenoble or take the local bus to the nearby ski/nordic ski resort of Feclarz (approx 50 mins by bus which departs from stand 10 in the bus station where you can purchase your ticket and also pay (optional) for nordic ski package which I believe cost 15 euros for adults - can't remember cost for children, which is well worth it for adults as well the family. There are a few small restaurants in the small village serving pizzas, beer etc. The cost of the aeroport bus from Chambery costs 1.50euros and takes approx 15 mins." (2990476)

    Good location being not far from the local bus station and rain station and in the centre of the town close to restaurants & attractions.

    More tourist information on Chambery & the region as well as information on restaurants (preferably ones serving regional cuisine) as well as transport links for train & buses.

    "I would of liked to known how much breakfast was in the hotel as an extra before booking the hotel to plan my stay alittle better." (3304473374)

    It was very clean and fresh also quite a large room for the price and quiet at night.

    I wish there was a mini bar or fridge in the room.
