  "This will be a nice hotel when the refurbishment is finished. It is within easy access of the main train station. If we had been staying for longer than 2 days we would have complained strongly to be moved to another floor(we were on 1st floor where renovations were at worst) but the hotel was very busy at reception with a number of clients complaining about the rooms so we decided we didnt want to waste time waiting as we were there to explore Paris."   Day staff were pleasant and helpful.

  The building is being refurbished internally and there are building materials blocking the filthy narrow corridors. The carpets were filthy and the view from our window was of a ledge covered in cigarette butts. Extremely noisy and chaotic. The evening receptionist who booked us in spoke very little english and it took ages to get our rooms which were not anything like the rooms displayed in their advert. We complaine immediately and all he could say was we need to speak to the chef in the morning as the hotel manager is on holiday. At breakfast which is very basic, there was very little on offer when we arrive although we got there 1hour before breakfast finished.

  "Very convenient for the Gare Du Nord, with a number reasonable restaurant in the near neighbourhood. The room was clean and comfortable." (97083168)

  Yes I like my room, clean and newly refurnished.

  Poor carpeting on the stairs.

  "The hotel is very conveniently located, near the stations Nord and Est, but on a quiet street. The reception staff went out of their way to be helpful. The room itself was no more than adequate. Two sliding doors had been removed from the wardrobe unit and were propped against the wall, which gave a slight impression of negligence. Was the hotel waiting for some kind guest to replace them? There were no drawers in the room, which made storing clothes difficult. Breakfast is not included in the price, and at 7 euros was also no more than adequate. I took it the first morning, then found alternatives elsewhere. I would recommend the hotel on the basis of its location - if convenience of district counts more than elegance - and because of the staff. It seemed to me expensive given that the room was nothing special, but comparing it to similar Paris hotel rooms, it doesn't seem exceptionally so. Light sleepers might wish to avoid it, as one is liable to be woken up by other guests arriving or leaving, or alternatively seek a room on one of the higher floors." (2360173)

  "Da man sich nur kurz auf dem Zimmer aufhält, haben die og. Mängel keine sehr grosse Bedeutung, da es mir hauptsächlich auf die Lage ankam. (Gare du Nord und Metro) Generell kann man dem Management jedoch raten, die Zimmer sauberer zu halten. In den Ecken befand sich viel alter Staub und Schmutz. Die Handtücher waren jedoch perfekt. Das Bad war etwas veraltet und die Armaturen an Wanne und Waschbecken waren nicht einwandfrei. Das Waschbecken hatte einen Sprung und an der Badewanne platzte die Emaille ab. Es gab keinen Duschvorhang. Das Personal war freundlich und die Abwicklung perfekt. Das Frühstück war ausreichend und die Baguettes hervorragend. Der Frühstücksraum , ein Gewölbe, optisch sehr schön, aber leider sehr kalt und nicht geheizt. Beim zweiten Mal habe ich mir 2 dicke Pullover angezogen und die Sache war OK." (1769107)

  excellent petit déjeuner, friendly reception

  Remote control for TV not available. Quality of TV could be better. Mini-safe locked - could not been used (I did not inquire at reception)

  Good location.

  Staff was not all that pleasant. Many of the front desk staff were rude and not particularly helpful.

  "Name of local Metro station. Price of car parking (which is good value) and a better map with directions to Hotel." (1647955)

  Good value, good Parking and within easy reach of central Paris.

  A drink (water,tea or coffee) in the room would be good.

  The breakfast and the setting for breakfast were really good.
