    "Hotel is clean and staff very friendly, but unable to sleep due to noise from traffic, alot of clanging from machinery, and because rooms outside of reception there was alot of taxis and noisy inconsiderate people in the early hours. Would not use this hotel even though clean and value for money again purely because of the noise" (108863282)

    Cleanliness, tea+ coffee facilities. Breakfast worth having.

    Noise from traffic, inconsiderate people coming in late, noise from taxis. Alot of noise within the block we stayed not sure what it was. Rooms outside to close to reception therefore noisy.

    "I was a little daunted by the negative reviews that I read before I travelled. However, this hotel offered excellent value for money and the breakfast was the equal of many I've had in 4/5 star hotels - for one third of the price." (108632165)

    Great value for money, attentive staff, nearby restaurants/pubs.

    Hotel is in a motel format with rooms in external blocks, with parking in front - this makes the place look less pretty externally but was no problem for me.

    Room was clean and tidy, breakfast was good and main restaurant/reception area, price was excellent.

    Bit like living in a block of flats,stuck in top floor up two stair cases out on a walkway then up another two !

    "enjoyed stay, staff very nice would stay again when visiting birmingham" (108200949)

    rooms very clean/rooms nice and homely/shower good/accesories in room eg tea,coffee,biscuits,soup,shampoo,towels all very good.

    restaurant menu could be better ordered basic food but staff informed it was not available eg steak and chips it was on menu also ordered something else with chips but they did not have any potatoes.

    Friendly staff, excellent restaurant facilities

    Wallpaper in room was very dirty. The hairdryer in the bathroom didn't work, and the overall decorative quality in said bathroom was horrible - mould on walls, broken tiles and a window that didn't close properly. The family room we were given was very close to reception and very noisy - not good with 2 children trying to sleep.

    The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the t.v had a good selection of channels to choose from.

    I felt that the lounge area was very shabby and needed updating. The hotel corridors were musty and stuffy. Our room we stayed in had a number of small problems. The shower didn't work, we only had one roll of toilet paper and when we requested more , we were given tissue from the lounges bathroom. The room was quite dreary and musty also. The room service food was over priced and very poor quality food. we ordered ''soup of the day'' which was definitly packet soup, we also ordered chicken wings and a salad, the chicken wings were most likely frozen chicken wings and the salad consisted of a lettuce leaf, with some shredded carrot and a tomato. we found this very unsatisfactory and a complete rip off.

    It was COLD in the room.The heating in the bathroom did not come on at all. One of the bed covers was torn, some lamps were not working.

    We felt that there was no necessity to charge for our dog to stay with us as she did not use any facilities other than those we had already paid for, in the room tariff. ( i.e. very small amount of cold water)

    "Unfortunately, I did not read any of the reviews as most of my family previously had, preventing them from booking a room. Having booked most of my hotel rooms online or via my business hotel card, my booking decision was based on price. It reminded me of shabby seaside guest houses of old. However, room aside possibly for the price it may have been someone elses cup of tea and possibly with a refurb the place may be a better experience to others.     Friendly approach to my refund and my wifes dislike of the hotel and its facilities.

    Appears run down internally and externally, and in some respects that of a council estate of flats. Bed covering and carpet was stained, tired and the room was cobwebbed and cold, even though a separate fan heater was provided.

    "We had a fantastic night at the Cliff Richard Concert at the Birmingham NIA but the Hotel was very poor and the Apollo is in desperate need of a thorough overall, it was cold, dirty and needs modernising " (97853520)

    We booked two rooms which were not very clean, the net curtains were black. The rooms were cold and the shower in one room was faulty, which we reported and which was sorted out eventually. The breakfast was cold and tasteless.

    Lovely quiet room. Central location of hotel to amenities in Birmingham.

    Difficulty booking over the internet from overseas, credit card not accepted? We had to book direct with hotel. The forecourt is constantly used as a taxi rank for one firm of taxis and it is impossible to get a parking space at the front of hotel there was on one occasion five taxis parked up.

    Staff were very polite, helpful and friendly

    The decor of the room was extremeley grim and is in need of serious updating, my radiator did not work and so I was very cold. The staff did bring a small fan heater to my room but this was noisy. I was glad to leave! Will not be staying again!

    Good parking. Adequate rooms.

    Breakfast was a complete disaster. It was like something from Fawlty Towers. Loads of people waiting for food and to be seated. Not enough staff on duty. Tables not cleared.

    Good parking. Not a bad price. The room was adequate.

    The breakfast was the highlight of the bad points. Hardly any food and loads of people queueing up waiting to be seated. Tables not cleared. Absoulute chaos!

    "Although on a main road it wasn't noisy, and in a good location for getting in and out of the city centre quickly whether by car or on foot. I wouldn't stay here again based on concerns about the room, although staff were helpful and friendly." (108017318)

    Staff on the whole were pleasant and willing.

    Room decor was very tired. Breakfast wasn't great although buffet options were acceptable.
