    "It did us for the weekend but we won't be going there again." (108526400)

    The room was clean and the bathroom was newly installed so was modern, clean and fresh.

    The radiator didn't work so we had to keep coats on until a convector heater was provided. The batteries in the tv remote were dead, new ones were provided but they died after 30 mins so we gave up trying!

    BED WAS VERY COMFOrtable very good bathroom.

    missed having a phone in bedroom towels in bathroom were not changed during our visit.saw staff who were servicing bedrooms watching tv and doing there job.I stayed in this hotel many years ago when it was called the crest and found that overall was not maintained as well

    Bed very comfortable. Room nice modern design.

    Bathroom not as clean as it should be. No hair dryer. Expensive room service charge if you deviate from the basic room service menu. Reception area and exterior a bit tired. Some lights not working. Restaurant staff bit confused about new menu. Abrupt reaction to ordering wine by the glass as if I was awkward.

    Good clean hotel with well furnished rooms. Free WIFI is a bonus

    A little road noise depending on where your room is.

    One meal not heated through properly - peak Saturday evening rushtime. Recommend booking all evening meals to avoid disappointment.

    Shower facilities, comfort, friendliness of staff, cleanliness, adequate convenient parking facilities, free newspaper (in no particular order). Breakfast was outstanding - compliments to Chef and team.

    We couldn't stay longer! Only slight problem finding you was that the SatNav postcode given led us to the far end of that reference! Possibly suggest that guests input a house number close to 300.

    Excellent hotel with good facilities

    Although our evening meal was lovely when it arrived, they seemed to struggle to serve everyone who wanted food, and we had a very long wait after ordering, despite having booked a table. There was a wedding in the hotel as well, which probably didn't help, but they should really have been able to cope even so.

    The service in this hotel was beyond doubt the worst I have ever had. We had to wait 55 mins for our dessert and complain about its non-arrival twice. I had received a phone call when I made the booking stating that my request for an inter-connecting door between our 2 rooms was not possible, but adjacent rooms were - when we arrived reception had no knowledge of this and had assigned us rooms at different ends of the floor!

    Food was excellent, the bedroom was a good size and nicely decorated, good shower, helpful receptionist, freeview channels on TV including radio, which I like.

    This is not a criticism of individuals, but there was certainly an impression that costs are cut when it comes to adequate staff cover and staff training, especially in the dining room. Also the phones weren't working in the rooms but the night porter was unable to do anything about it.

    "This is not a country house style retreat. It is a Best Western large modern block building surrounded mainly by a large car park. Conference centre is used for wedding receptions and while we were there a local youth football club had presentation evenings for two nights running. That said there was no problem with noise from where we were staying. There are some lovely restaurants in Uppingham and Oakham a few miles north. In the local area the main attraction is Rutland Water which is beautiful with many cycle tracks (you can hire bikes from the car parks). The hotel is just down the road from Rockingham Castle though which is open on Tuesdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays in summer months. Oakham Castle is also worth a visit (free entrance) and also the museum where visitor information is available. " (107950261)

    Paid extra for luxury room which was very nice. Clean, modern decor. Very comfy kingsize bed. Modern bathroom. Generous full english breakfast buffet. Very helpful and friendly staff.

    There was no toilet paper in the bathroom at all and had to ask for some. May have been due to bathroom refurbishment and was fixed pretty quickly. The alarm went off in the next empty) room on Saturday morning and didn't stop for over an hour. It was fixed for the next night.

    some idiot in a room near mine had set their alarm clock for 0200 on the buzzer setting and so i was woken (i would think it was someone who had already vacated the room as it was going off for a fair while)

    Overall stay was good. Resyaurant was good and we received good service

    Inclusive dinner deal was a bit misleading and didn't really work in our favour unless you are a big eater and take advantage of every course. We were full and didn't want dessert which meant we couldn't use our £20pp allocation as the hotel would not use the remainder against our wine. This was a bit of a disappointment, mainly because it wasn't obvious from the menu that the wine menu wasn't included in the deal.
