    Efficient staff and good location

    We had a twin-bedded room and the beds were not very comfortable. The car parking was not adequate for the number of guests.

    Clean, quiet, easy to get food in the area, easy parking, friendly staff

    Don't understand why the advertised room rate is £150 and yet you have to pay for Wifi. Does anybody ever pay this rate?

    "A welcoming and efficent check in. A clean and comfortable room. But using the shower steamed up the mirrors and the basin plug leaked so to keep a reasonable level of water in the basin the taps had to be left on! A relatively minor complaint which did not detract from a reasonable nights sleep." (97996349)

    room was shabby, wall light wasn't working, valance sheet had what appeared to have 'vomit' stains on it. No facilities in bathroom except combined shapoo/shower gel. Hate that! Dirty glasses left.

    "Good all round accommodation, the hotel had a bar but it was very small and not very inviting. There were plenty of restaurants within a 5 - 10 minute walk." (97653632)

    Excellent location for Ocean Terminal. We also went to Princes Street and that was very easy to do buses past hotel every couple of minutes. One bus ran all night, if you wanted to go to restaurants in city centre.

    "It is worth knowing that the hotel is situated a short bus ride from the train station. The bus to catch is either the No. 22 or 35 and costs £1. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel. Busses are available just outside the train station. The taxi fare will cost about £8. Our booking got 'stuck' in the system so the checking-in process was delayed because of that. If I booked on-line again I would be inclined to phone and double check that everything was in order." (97888113)

    "Easy to find with ample parking on site. Checking in only took a matter of minutes and we were made welcome by the duty staff. The room was in good order and when we ordered extra pillows they were in our room soon after. The hotel was busy yet there was a low noise level which was excellent. My wife, son and mother-in-law have since stayed at the same hotel and we will do so again." (97170338)

    Very clean with all amenities in good working order.

    "Overall we had a pleasant stay with no complaints apart from the concern about leaving our luggage in the lock-up. Hotel is close to a good shopping centre and close to bus ternimal with a frequent and cheap bus service into the centre of Edinburgh. Lots of places nearby for eating out but they do not have the atmosphere of eating in central Edinburgh. As always with Scotland things are on the cool side and eating 'al fresco' is a no no. If you are just looking for somewhere to put your head for the night and that is clean, fresh and friendly then this hotel should suit your needs." (99547275)

    Relatively simple and trouble free. Rooms were clean and fresh and is all that ones needs for a weekend break. Breakfast simple continental with an ample supply of fruit,fruit juices, cereal, bread, croissants and tea and coffee.

    There is a lock-up facility to store your suitcases and items of baggage but what concerned me was that I was able to take my luggage out of the lock-up without a challenge from staff as to whether I was the legitimate owner of the luggage. In other words I was able to go to a staff member and have them open the lock-up and take out a piece of luggage without being asked for room number or any form of ID. A ticket system should be put into operation.

    "In general, the hotel was of a very good quality, although slightly on the expensive side, even for the improved location. However, the staff were very helpful and curteous and the proximity of bus services into the city were also helpful. Unfortunately, our room overlooked the rubbish bins,not disappointing during a two night stay but would have been if our stay had been longer." (99499676)

    "The information about the hotel on line was accurate and clear. The room was clean and a good size, as was the bathroom, apart from a small leak from the shower which we reported on departure and was noted. The position of the hotel was very good, being next to a bus stop and close to a shopping centre. It was quiet and the public area was large and relaxed. The reception staff were helpful and cheerful. Whilst it would not deter me from booking again it would be good if a cooked breakfast option was available." (99996775)

    Room was a good size and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Staff were attentive and helpful. Continental breakfast was good and staff were refilling baskets containing butter, etc. on a continual basis.

    Very little but the lift was slow.

    "Happy with accommodation and staff. Only main problem was that there was no bath. Did not think to ask as most hotels I have stayed in have shower and bath. This is a minor problem. The hotel was well situated for our requirements and plenty of public transport to get to different areas of the city." (99950528)
