    Friendly owner, spacious room with a comfortable bed and a large bath. Very clean and delicious breakfast. We will definitely come back if we travel this area.

    Very warm welcome. The proprietors were very friendly and obliging. It was like home from home. In the lounge there was a huge choice of DVDs to view on the 40" flat screen TV - useful on a rainy night. Excellent choice of breakfast and plenty of it. Ample supply of tea/coffee/soft drinks.

    Could do with heating in the bathrooms.

    "The owner was wonderful, warm, welcoming and a great tour guide / breakfast chef! The room was wonderful, the Old School House historic, and the scenery breath-taking. The whole experience was charming...Lots to do around Tavistock, and Plymouth if you can drive around." (97155332)

    "The owners were courteous and friendly, the village beautiful and convenient for Dartmoor [our main objective] and the local facilities adequate and friendly. It was a first holiday for myself and a new girlfriend and was a very pleasant one. I would definately visit again, maybe as a stop-off for visiting further afield - into Cornwall, for example."     "Overall high quality, very friendly owners, excellent sense of humour, located in a quiet spot, no traffic noise or any sort of noise, good local pub (don't have the mixed grill the landlord said that I wouldn't manage to finish it, he was right!). Room was clean, well appointed, 2 large wardrobes with lots of hangers, come and go as you please, was never disturbed by other guests, nice cat. There is nothing to comment on that was not up to our standard." (99637869)

    Fresh milk in the fridge in your room, not those long life little plastic bottles, typical of the thoughfulness of the place.

    We like a soft mattress and unfortunately it was a little hard. It would be handy if mattress toppers were available

    "Well situated bed and breakfast/self catering. Easy walking reach of pubs, shop etc. Good parking. Lovely views/village. Thought the self-catering accommodation was very well equipped, full kitchen with all that is necessary. Good spacious living/dining and lovely bedrooms and shower-toilet facility. Could not fault it in any way. Would suggest a light switch on top landing to ensure safety when coming down stairs in night! No problem for us but could be for others. Breakfast provided was very good. Thought snooker/games room would be very well received by younger guests. Do hope this continues as it is so that we can stay in future." (99833948)

    We were upgraded to the self-catering accommodation (with breakfast)so we therefore had extra facilities than expect. Very clean, well furnished, comfortable in every way. Thought the self-catering facility was very, very good and would recommend it to family and friends in the future.

    Location. It was in a quiet village with a couple of pubs for food. Not the sort of place for those after the 24 hour lifestyle.

    The only comment is that the head room in the bathroom was minimal...but then when your husband is 6'5'' what can you expect!

    Room and bathroom were both large and spotless. Owner was very friendly and breakfast was super. Would definately stay here again.

    Parking was a little tight but that wouldn't stop us staying here again.

    "The booking process was easy. The welcome on arrival was friendly and businesslike. The room and facilities were good, including the information packs. The food was excellent and the service friendly and prompt. The location was ideal for our purposes - walking and visiting nearby attractions.     "This is a great venue for a quiet break in high quality accomodation, with good facilities and copious breakfast. The attractions of Dartmoor, Plymouth and Tavistock are on the doorstep and good value food is provided by the Leaping Salmon pub in the town. Highly recommended, we will certainly be visiting again in the future." (3304460848)

    High quality rooms and great welcome from the owners. Well situated for touring Dartmoor area and outing to Eden Project was reasonable journey time (rather more than the 40 mins claimed though!).

    Car parking was not the best and needed a little manouvering in and out.(Minor quibble only)

    "We were warmly welcomed, nothing was too much trouble. The room was beautifully clean and spacious. There were chairs to relax and a fridge with drink and chocolate to purchase. A good breakfast to start the day. We had lovely views from our room. The position was great. Near to plenty of walking and entertainments. Two pubs and a fish and chip shop in easy walking distance.     "Well located within a few hundred metres of the village centre, but far enough out to be very quiet. The accommodation was superb (very smart large room)and hospitality excellent - as was the breakfast. Full-size snooker table and bar a bonus. Good, reasonably-priced pub food within an easy walk at The Leaping Salmon. This is a very well-run, quality Guest House at reasonable tariffs. Highly recommended." (2780227)

    Very attractive rooms, spotlessly clean. This is a beautifully converted old school. Good location - convenient for Plymouth / Dartmoor / Tavistock.

    My only MINOR concern would be the fairly narrow car parking area if the Guest House is full. However this was not a problem during my stay.

    The owners are very friendly and helpful and breakfast substantial even if you are vegetarian. Rooms are beautifully presented and whoever did the conversion from a school to a guest house should be congatulated for such a creative use of a fine building. We were also given a warm welcome by the cat who enjoys plenty of attention.

    If all rooms were full the ad hoc parking might become a problem. It would be better to have marked out parking bays

    I would have liked there to be a toilet on ground floor for after brealfast..I found stairs difficult as I walk with 2 sticks and going back upstairs was a bit of a chore I understand they are hoping to build downstairs before Christmas which will include a toilet

    The room was big, airy and clean, with everything we needed - even a fridge.

    The parking wasn't fantastic, although that was partly lack of consideration on the part of other guests.
