    Facilities excellent and all in good working order Staff pleasant and helpful

    Bar meals service was poor with delayed arrival of food meaning children had to wait Poor quality of children's bed in family room

    Clean, comfortable bed and nice decor.

    Room service was poor. Food ordered took 1 hour 20 to arrive when told it would arrive within 45 minutes originally. Not much tea, coffee and sugar left in room.

    Friendly staff in restaurant in the evening.

    Had made a request when booking online to reserve a table for the evening. Also had requested one room near the lift as my faher had mobility problems. These hadn't been communicated to the hotel. Not such friendly staff at breakfast. Coffee was awful.

    Dinner was excellent

    I was not informed at checkin that Breakfast started at 07:00, I had to leave the Hotel at Six with no Breakfast, that's after booking breakfast with my room, I was not too pleased. I could have just booked the room for the night with no Breakfast. Dissapointed

    The facilities were good

    The 'Confirmed reservation' did not exist when I arrived at the hotel, there was only one person on check-in which meant a 20 minute wait in order to check in. The Family room was too small and our 2 children had to sleep on a double sofa bed, rather than twin beds. Check out was similarly slow - there are insufficient staff at reception for a hotel of this size... in fact only one apparently!

    Staff were superb, plenty of car parking, nice food and a great bar atmosphere.

    Just the shower in the room i was in, thermostat did not seem to be accurate, hence the mark down on room equipment.

    Reduced price of £69 for a family room, including breakfast for 2. Easy to find and good parking.

    Stayed in newer extension where floors creak loudly. No toiletries in the bathroom where the floor needed a good sweep and scrub. Hair in the bath plughole. Very dim lighting so every light had to be switched on, even then the room was gloomy. 10 minute wait for eggs to be replenished on the breakfast buffet.

    Reasonable value for money and generally a decent standard of room and facilities.

    We hate the highly perfumed Lux soap and shower gel you now provide - it stinks! Also no biscuits or hot chocolate now provided in rooms, which is disappointing. TV is not very good.

    The breakfast was excellent, choice really good and we didn't have to wait for tea. coffee etc which we have experienced in other hotels we stay in.

    We were not charged the right price we were quoted when booking. Ourselves and son, daughter-in-law and two children were staying in two rooms and we were charged

    Nice pool & convenient to Asda 24hr store

    Given wrong information of pool times, towells were makeup stained & only half a bottle of bubble bath left. Put in a room above a wedding disco party loud music playing until midnight our 1 & 3 year old unable to sleep.

    the checkout experience was appauling. it took 45 minutes stood in a queue to get checked out. this was attributed to a 'broken server'. I severely question that this incident was isolated and therefore wonder why the management feel it is acceptable for guests to wait this long? i have stayed in many hotels around the world and never have i experienced such poor service.

    friendly helpful staff, good sized room, only a short overnight stop so didnt get to try leisure facilities. Reverend James beer on draught!!!!!!!!!

    Very friendly atmosphere. Very good choice on menu. Excellent breakfast.

    Staff had to be prompted to complete laying out what had been paid for at te reception following a funeral.

    "My overall view of the facilities at the Village Hotel Cardiff were good and the staff were very freindly and helpful. Your receptionist accomodated me and my wife with a table in the restaurant when we arrived back very late one evening. This was unexpected and we were very grateful to her and the restaurant staff for this. I understand that it is difficult to cater for all situations for very different people but I do think that a small refrigerator in each room would be very beneficial and useful to all your guests."     Clean Tidy with no gimmicks

    The room did not have a small refrigerator, it was a hot weekend and I am Diabetic with nowhere to store my insulin.
