    "Generally good, got a late check out on the Friday although they said they wouldn't normally do that on a Friday. Disappointing to have no free wi-fi in rooms." (108639496)

    Large size room, nice en suite, lovely breakfast.

    Room smelled a bit 'damp', carpet could do with being renewed, internet access not free and no instructions on working the internet via TV. Paid, but had to give up eventually!

    Good food, room facilities

    Hotel staff - some were rather miserable Stayed for 2 nights - 1st night was £105 second night was £210 couldn't understand why it cost so much to stay in the same room for a second night with no breakfast.

    Service was great as was the staff. The food was good. The facilities were also good and well kept.

    No body lotion in the room-a four star hotel ALWAYS supplies body lotion. Also, the half glass door on the shower was the most absurd thing that I have seen. Water always went all over the place.

    Staff excellent, especialy the young girl on reception when we arrived and departed. She displayed the highest standards of customer service and was very personable.

    Reception and bar staff very friendly and helpful. Provided directions to local attractions. Excellent breakfast.

    There was a little confusion over my room booking as I was somehow registered under my first name not my surname.

    Staff were very helpful, very polite and a pleasure to talk to. The pool facilities and gym were very good, albeit on the small side, but still a very good standard. The buffet breakfast was worth every penny, with most tastes catered for and all food and drink were spot on perfect.

    The only comment would be that the bedroom itself wasn't brilliant. The decor and fittings are of a contempory well designed standard, but just small things that let the experience down. We opted for a smoking room, just in case I fancied smoking, but the whole floor and bedrooms smelt of smoke unfortunately [ironic of me to complain I know!]. The room was overlooking a mainroad, but wasn't as loud as expected with a secondry window. All in all not enough to stop me going back, I would just opt for the non-smoking floor regardless!

    The cleanliness of the hotel as a whole. Excellent variety of foods for breakfast, and plenty of it. Friendly, obliging staff. Air conditioned rooms.

    Bar prices for both food and drink were a bit steep, and the duck from the bar menu was overcooked.

    "A nice hotel, extremely helpful staff and a top breakfast (cooked and continental were both very good). It was quite noisy late on the Saturday night but to be honest, you can expect that in any hotel and I can sleep through anything so it didn't bother me :o)" (107391487)

    Free leisure facilities (pool, sauna, steam room, small gym), very good location

    Having to pay £5 per 24 hours to park in the hotel carpark-why isn't this free when the standard rate for this room is £150 a night? This was the only downside to a lovely stay and even then, it wouldn't put me off staying here again.

    Friendly and helpful staff.

    No attendants about when my wife wanted to use the leisure facilities; the whirlpool 'wasn't working' when she found someone to ask about using it, but a short while later, it was working and there were people in it!

    car park was secure but expensive and difficult to get out of

    An extremely nice looking hotel, retaining many features of the original building. The check in & reception staff were helpful & courteous. The room was very well furnished with a lovely clean & modern bathroom, although the bedroom carpet had several cigarette burns which spoilt the overall appearance.

    pleasant and helpful reception staff. Comfortable room and good, well sprung bed. Decent hairdryer at a table with a good light (quite rare in hotels I find). An iron & ironing board in the room is brilliant. Good, unrushed, breakfast

    Small point, but no hair conditioner (I forgot mine)

    Good overall, clean, new, spacious, good facilities and lovely staff

    room service at 11pm was terrible. very very limited choice ie: sandwich (without chips as 'we're not allowed to use the deep fat fryer', got charged extra for having crisps instead of chips even though they were part of the deal, fruit salad was the only 'pudding'. The sandwiches were poor aswell. Little bit too far from shops to walk when you've got blistered feet from walking all day already!

    Lovely hotel, very modern. Good sized room, all mod con;s, even a mini bar! Didnt eat in so cannot comment on food. Gym OK, if not a little small for size of hotel.

    Receptionist at check-in (Alex) was exceptional. Best welcome I have ever had at a hotel anywhere. She was welcoming and informative and didnt stint on the welcome whilst other guests arrived. Please inform her of our pleasure at her greeting

    Very smart hotel, with sympathetic architecture that blends the modern with the old. Attractive and contemporary overall interior design. Great location within walking distance of the centre as well as the Cardiff Bay area. Pool a bonus.

    Rather expensive breakfast. Duvet more suitable for a winter stay.

    Room was good size, clean and all working amenities. I was able to store my bags after checking out too which was invaluable.
