    "The hotel was everything that I needed, but I was frustrated at having to convince them of the price I had booked it at on the internet. So no problem with the hotel but still have little faith in internet hotel bookings as it is a regular problem of them not knowing of my arrival." (108100937)

    The staff were very helpful on arrival, especially as they didn't have my booking.

    Hotel were not aware of my reservation or booking, even though I booked it three working days before arrival.

    - Card key - having to re programme a lot of the time, quite in convenient - general up keep of the rooms are a bit tired - bed and pillow uncomfortable

    Very nice staff, friendly at the bar. Room clean.

    View left a lot to be desired... but can't be helped I suppose. Ceiling had a horrible brown patch on it, which wouldnt take a lot to sort out. Shower was so powerful almost removed skin! shower curtain just wrapped around the body so it wasn't a very pleasant shower!!

    Very nice and clean hotel. Beautiful gardens. Very nice late night bar! Very curtious staff. Receptionist nicely checked us out at 5AM.

    We left hotel late for lunch at 1PM and did not get room service. However the maid did leave fresh towels outside of the door.

    My husband's flight was delayed so we missed the meal at the wedding reception we came to, but the staff looked after us really well, put together a main course and dessert for us and made us feel extremely well looked after. This was especially welcome after a long journey from the South West.

    "The hotel and its location were perfect for our needs. Harrpenden is such a lovely town for a short stay with plenty of shope and restaurents etc. The staff were so helpful and gave us plenty of extra for our tea and coffie making and even free fruit at reception. We can only fault the online booking arrangent. We were told by 'Laterooms.com' that no availability, but Travelsupermaket.com had no problem, we understand that this is due to 'Allocation' but was not told this by 'Laterooms' most unsuspecting people would have booked elseware with knowing. Good work please keep it the way it is. Yours gratefully Mick Ellis." (97036028)

    Best room in ther house, anyway thats what the staff told us and we beleive them. just perfect

    No dislikes at all. Only found one bedside light bulb not working but not worth reporting at the time.

    "Everything that I needed to know before I chose this hotel was available through the booking system. The website did not mis-lead me on anything and everything was as it was explained before I booked, which is always nice. A very relaxing stay." (97096465)

    The position of the Glenn Eagle is excellant. It takes 5 mins to walk into the town centre, so there is no need for your car while you are there. The room was very comfortable, with a large bed and plenty of space. The staff are all friendly as well. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had at a hotel.

    The shower was old and did not work very well.

    The location in Harpenden

    The staff somehow cancelled a collegues room reservations and then were less than helpful in resolving the issue. They state my collegues reservations were cancelled because she did not show on the first day of the reservations. I made the reservations and the staff was wrong in identifying her first day. Ultimately the staff made accomodations available to my collegue, but the experience was less than pleasant.

    "The hotel was easy to get to and convenient for shops and cafes. The room was ideal for us, with plenty of room for a king-size bed and a sofa as well as a reasonable size bathroom. The main draw-back was that the bed was uncomfortable and really needed a new mattress. We were only there for one night but I would not have liked a week on that bed! The staff were all friendly and helpful and I would be happy to stay there again." (97252360)

    Room was spacious, clean and quiet. Bathroom was fine and heating worked well. Staff were friendly and helpful.

    Bed was a good size but was not very comfortable and needed a new mattress. An extra light by the sofa would have been nice for reading.

    "My husband and I booked a double non smoking room at the Glengagle Manor via the web - on arrival we were informed there was not a non smoking room available. To get one we could upgrade for another " (99498222)

    The conservatory/breakfast room was pleasant.

    The room was dark, dingy needed redecoration, the bathroom needed updating. Reading lamp needed a new bulb. TV and radio channels were not available as listed.

    "We had to book an additional night because of a change in family circumstances and were horrified to find the cost twice that of our original three night stay per night.For a room only with no breakfast we consider this to be poor value.On the first night we were woken at 5.30am by a delivery lorry reversing to offload at the hotel right under our window.The next morning(Saturday)the dustmen arrived before 7.00am!The television channels as listed in the room literature were not as stated, and the actual reception was poor.There was only a modem connection for computers but we were unable to connect to the internet either by this or wireless. This was inconvenient as I had taken work with me that I was unable to complete.All of these inconveniences would have been more acceptable had we been staying in a budget priced hotel." (99231427)

    "Being on a particular diet I found the menue not very appetising which was disappointing as the dining area seemed to be condusive to romantic meal times or for families with young children. In fact speaking to people in the town we found a few of them had had their wedding reception in the hotel and had an enjoyable time.     the staff were helpful in changing our room immediately

    The initial room was very dark because of bulbs not working however the staff gave us a change of room immediately which was much better though not perfect. The fault in the second room was them water from the cold tap was hot, brushing teeth was not pleasant.
