    Nice hotel, good beer in bar, friendly staff.

    Staff cock ups: Allocated our room to someone else, who walked in on us; presumably then cancelled all keys to our room so ours didn't work; gave us incorrect information about what breakfast was included within the overnight cost, and got our order wrong at breakfast.

    Very clean room

    Computer in the reception was out of order for several days. It is not only for pleasure that one needs a computer but also for checking in to the flight.

    the locatiion possiably

    i am someone who has decided not to use credit cards anymore i was told online that that my debt card would not be pre charged which it was. when i checked in i was asked to put down a deposit of £90 i thinn this is unreasonable considering i paid £400 for three night if it was a cheep motel i couls see their point, i was also ill informed on the breckfast times which i missed on the friday morning (late check in the night before ) the air condationing in the room worked only in the arctic setting they did provide a space heater though this was inconvienent considerin neither could be left on when we left the room for fear off fire/frost

    we were here for the London Marathon and the hotel made special early breakfast for the people concerned with the event which was exelent

    "I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and the comfort of the hotel. It was not over the top but it was luxurious enough for me to want to stay there again. The upgrade to the terrace suite was a definite big hit." (107682461)

    I was upgraded to the terrace suite, which was excellent and it means I will be considering The Chamberlain for future bookings in London, although I realise that was a bonus and won't happen every time. Check in was very quick and efficient and also the rooms were clean, including the bathroom, which I am very particular about and is very important to me when choosing a hotel.

    The bar is only open until 11 pm, not a deal breaker at all though.

    The hotel and my room was everything the promo. material said it was. I can't praise the staff enough for their cheerful attitude and professionalism. They agreed for me to have business cards delivered to the hotel before my arrival and even phoned me overseas to let me know they'd arrived. Full marks all around.

    The manager (or whomever took over from the hapless receptionist) was able to resolve my check-in issue effectively. Glad he was able to work around a flawed process.

    The check-in process requires the owner of the credit card used to book the room to be present at check-in despite a note on the reservation saying this wouldn't be possible. Too process oriented.

    Brilliant reception staff. Very late arrival was no problem. Very clean. Quiet.

    Only cold water in the morning. Had to shower later in the day. Ordered toast twice at beakfast (monday morning). No response from staff. Forgot it. English beakfast (super) was eaten without toast

    Very pleasant hotel, quiet, everything was clean, plenty of towels, room had everything I needed and was tastefully decorated.

    I checked in late, went to my room and found the key didnt work. But that was just a minor irritation on top of a stressful day I didnt need.

    The general cleaniness of the room and the spacious of the room was really good. Getting there is really easy too and has good links to other areas in London.

    The air conditioning in the room was really loud and you had to have it on all day before the room started to get cool.

    Clean room & bathroom, large room, quiet although on the street, good breakfast, attentive staff, good location very near 2 tube stations. My 13 yr old son was most impressed with the TV in the bathroom!

    Inadaquate airconditioning. Some correspondence needed to be sure of breakfast included during weekends.

    L'hôtel est proche d'une station de métro( Aldsgate et de plusieurs lignes de bus importantes (15...) Notre chambre était spatieuse et très confortable. Le petit déjeuner excellent.

    Situation dans le quartier de la City peu vivant le we La qualité de la cuisine du dioner était limite. L'accès à un poste informatique avec internet et imprimante onéreux (5£/h).

    The location was ideal for us, the room was very comfortable and furnishings were perfect.

Convenient for tube although a little far out from the major attractions, however, the hotel was so good that the location did not matter. The hotel staff were fantastic.     Quiet location at the weekend. Felt very safe. Excellent quality of fittings and fixtures. We were upgraded to a room with patio balcony so were very pleased with value for money!

    The breakfast was good but the service seemed a bit choatic and slow.

    "We had an unexpected invitation to an event in the city so we only booked the hotel the day before. We were thrilled with the hotel, the staff were pleasant and helpful and the room was wonderful; the bed extremely comfortable. The room was a good size, when generally city hotel rooms can be very small. The decor was impecable, nothing shabby at all. The bathroom facilites were excellent and the shower was wonderful."     It was new Years Eve so bar was open at 2.00am which was good Close to the River, good accessability. Also we got upgraded to a roof terrace room which was a nice surprise.

    Nothing, however when booking on line it is not clear if you get breakfast included.

    "I took 'pot luck' in booking this hotel, as we needed somewhere very close to Commercial Raod for an event we were attending. I had all the information I needed, but was delighted to find such a user friendly, clean hotel, whcih was central but offered very good value for money. Highly recommended." (97098234)

    The staff were very friendly and helpful. We especially liked our roof terrace, which gave us views of the Gherkin and Tower Bridge.

    Nothing, but we had been promised a 'walk in ' shower and it turned out to be over the bath.

    Such a friendly atmosphere through the hotel. A lovely bar, gorgeous breakfast and the rooms was totally as promised - very very nice!

    The view to the back is nothing to write home about. But this is a minor thing as we were staying to go out and see sights.

    "Disappointed in a taxi driver who didn't listen to fact we wanted to go to the Mansion House 'for a function' I said to booking staff. The diver took us to Mansion House station - then had to double back for our proper destination - I had to pay full cost and he wasn't sure where it was. Suggest you change the firm you use! You are very expensive - and I would not rate you above a good 3 star hotel" (97197417)
