    It was no problem giving good and excellent coments to the above,we stayed in six different hotels on our trip to and from the west country and enjoyed are short stay and were well looked after.

    Friendly front counter staff.

    No housekeeping for Xmas and boxing day, heated towel rack never worked, room was overly warm and couldn't get a/c working, the patch job of the wallpaper by the towel rack was peeling,

    i cancelled one reservation over the telephone prior to the date and this was not logged on to the system. i was therefore contacted the following day with regard to this.

    "Unfortunately the site I booked on didn't say whether there was lunch and evening meals, so we nearly didn't book, but the meals were very good and reasonably priced, although vegetables were too hard for our personal taste. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we were able to borrow a multi socket to charge our phones as sockets in bedroom were too close to surface. The car park was spacious and had CCTV, which gave us peace of mind." (97945484)

    It was very clean, fairly spacious with a king size bed. Excellent power shower.

    No proper bathroom, consisted of shower and toilet, the sink was in the bedroom, not enough room for toiletries etc. Insufficient lighting at the dressing table.

    "Although positioned adjacent to A1(M) location is ideal for access by road, yet no traffic noise was experienced. Location proved ideal for my business visit which did not allow time to explore places of local interest , but other visitors might be interested to know what the area has to offer. The Restaurant and Bar provide a good selection of food and drink. I would be happy to stay again when next in the area." (97967563)

    Good location, excellent staff.

    Parking seems to be getting a problem, too many vans which may allow hiding places for break-ins.

    "The room smelt of smoke even though it was non smoking room.There was a light bulb not working.I had real problems with the door key and no I did not put it by a mobile phone.The remote on tv worked when it felt like it.Apart from maintenance man who came to fix sink plug not one of the staff were rude but they weren't friendly either.The breakfast table was missing teaspoons and butter.Attention to detail is what is wrong with this place and it spoilt my stay back and forth to the reception desk with a problem."     "The size of the rooms, decor, etc., could make this an excellent hotel but the experience was spoiled by non-working equipment and slack standards in the restaurant. It was not worth the £90/night charged." (97547569)

    Good size room

    WiFi connection did not allow operation for more thar a few minutes at a time. Telephone did not work.

    there weren't any

    the room i'd booked hadn't been allocated, therefore we didn't have an executive room, just a standard room. the bar was closed before 11pm and the staff were extremely rude and wouldn't let us purchase any drinks even to take to our room. we stayed there with two other couples who both had poor experiences. i will not be recommending this hotel to anyone or staying there again

    "As well as enjoying the accommodation, the public facilities were pleasant and relaxing. The staff were courteous and efficient. We enjoyed a drink in the bar during the first evening (we were at a family function the next evening)." (97247631)

    Modern clean accommodation, good large shower unit. Nice furniture.

    There was nothing that I did not like about the accommodation.

    "The hotel was very clean and modern. We were dealt with in an efficient and friendly manner by staff. The restaurant and menu were also excellent. The breakfast could have been warmer - the plates available were not hot and the food could have been hotter. The quality of the food was excellent. We will definitely come again!" (97785926)

    "Excellent value for money. Our room was very clean, very comfortable and was fully equipped. Despite being a standard room, it had a built-in desk area and free wi-fi internet access, both would have been ideal for business travellers. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and no pressure to rush through the morning before checking out. We were delighted with our stay and wish Aston every success in opening further hotels around the country." (97421623)

    I liked the value for money. It was very clean, had everything you might want including free wi-fi and had plenty of space. We even chose to stay in that evening as it was so comfortable.

    "Overall, a most pleasant and relaxing stay. The staff were very helpfull and informative. I would have liked to see restaurant menus and prices prior to arrival - ie on the information about the hotel on the web. Would highly recommend this hotel to anybody - should be 4 star rated!"     The accommodation was very clean and well presented. It gave the appearance of having been prepared to make our stay very enjoyable. All the staff were extreemly pleasant and made us both very welcome.

    Only 1 set of towels available in the room. One of the bedside light fittings was becoming detached from the wall!

    "The hotel looks a bit grim from the outside, but the inside is clean, bright and in excellent order.The evening meal was excellent, the staff polite and attentive. The room was a good size, only down side was the creaking floor in the room above. The shower was excellent, overall better than some 4 stars i have stayed in." (97307929)

    "Our stay was pleasant and all the facilities were good. The parking was good and the car seemed in a safe location. In general it was as a hotel should be with no nasty surprises." (97831105)

    The room was a good size and we were not cramped as we were travelling with a considerable amount of luggage. The room and the hotel was clean and generally very pleasant

    The wash basin was in the room separate from the shower and toilet.

    "I chose the hotel because of its convenient position and it had good reviews from other guests. I found the hotel to be of a good standard, clean and very good value for money. The 59 Brasserie served good food and service was friendly and efficient. It certainly lived up to my expectations. One downside for some may be that it is slightly isolated being just off the A1 between Darlington and Bishop Auckland, however, this suited me perfectly." (97061825)

    The modern decor was pleasing and both rooms and public areas were clean and spacious.
