    "Generally disappointed. The early fantastic impressions as to the hotel location, its facilities and spacious rooms are spoilt by the overpriced food and drink. I was really hoping to use this hotel on quite a few occassions given the business needs i have in the area however will only do so if the food and drink pricing structure is seriously reviewed.....shame really as the first impressions are fantastic!"     Fantastic hotel location with a superb spa and leisure facilities. Good value for money room rates.

    Food and drink nearly twice what i would have expected to pay for the food served. £15 for a standard curry and £9 for a 'fish finger' sandwich. These prices don't really give value for money IMO. Shower a steady trickle rather than a refreshing experience. TV reception in room quite poor.

    thought dinner was a bit on the expensive side, compared to other hotels i've stayed in - but on the whole no complaints

    The location and presentation of the hotel is excellent and the food is very good (breakfast only as the restaurant was fully booked for the evening meal)

    The main house can be slightly noisy, with creaking floorboards and slamming doors

    Junior staff need more training in customer handling. Food of variable quality.

    It was clean and the staff were very professional

    It wasn't quite the style that I usually go for and it didn't translate well into the pictures on the website - the bathroom was like something out of a horror movie circa 1972 - needs updating!

    "I had a great weekend staying here. I thought that the building was extremely pretty and the decor was warm and classic. The whole estate had an essence of greatness. The room we stayed in was simple and modern and the bathroom large and welcoming. This is a perfect romantic hideaway. I also took advantage of the spa and swimming pool. The breakfast was very nice and served in the main house." (97121418)

    The general feel of the Manor was lovely. It was offset in beautiful countryside and was peaceful and serene. The little outhouse where my boyfriend and I stayed was modern and cozy. The main part of the house was overflowing with character and had an antique feel.

    "Over all we had great weekend at the manor and in stratford the only problem that we had is when i booked on line the person i booked it with told me we would receive a free bottle of Champagne and box of Chocolates with a premium room booking and with it being our 1st wedding annavesary i thought it would have been a wonderful suprize for my wife but when we got to the manor this was not the case."     We could not fault the accommodation one bit.

    There was sky channels on tv but were not working it said not receving a signal

    "It would have been helpful to have view of a typical Resturant menu and prices before hand. The resturant was somewhat expensive but provided excellent food and service. Most of the staff were welcoming and friendly. One small problem was that our room was not made up consistently, e.g. no ice, coffee & tea & mild not always replaced. Breakfast was good, but seemed to be staffed on a she string with the effect that staff were over stretched and stressed. My overall impression was very positive & I would certainly stay again..."     "When we arrived on the Sunday afternoon a wedding was taking place which made it difficult for us to enter the building with our luggage - unfortunate timing, we realised, with a coach and horses about to bring the bride. A ceremony then took place actually in the hotel and we had subsequently to walk across the rear of the event to get to the stairs to our room. As a result, my wife and I, on our thirtieth wedding anniversary felt on arrival, and for much of our first day in the hotel, like intruders on others' celebration, despite the excellent champagne on ice in our room on arrival. This was compounded by guests talking loudly directly below our window until 1.30 am. I contacted reception three times, between 12.45 and 1.30 and on each occasion they were asked to move but it just kept happening. We even tried ( on a warm night - July 30th) to close the window but that was physically uncomfortable and didn't greatly reduce the problem, which included for example shouts of 'oi, oi saveloy' and a fair amount of alcohol-induced obscenities. We fully recognise why the hotel is such an ideal venue for marriage celebrations - it is excellent in its setting and the overall quality of service - we discovered later from reception how heavily booked they are and we have no wish to take limit others' enjoyment. However, we were not told at the time of booking that there was a major wedding celebration (actually a double event) and hadn't expected one on a Sunday. By the Monday, the hotel was much quieter and became everything we hoped it would be when booking for our own special event. Staff were excellent, and service, including champagne felt special. Even so, our disappointment about the Sunday night was only briefly acknowledged. I suggest that, when major functions are taking over the hotel, the needs of guests present for other reasons be more carefully considered, especially in terms of where they are located. Despite this problem, the many positives of our stay far outweighed our initial disappointment and we were made to feel very welcome." (3304288339)

    The room itself lived up to our wish to celebrate our thirtieth wedding anniversary in attractive surroundings. The restaurant and service were excellent: prompt, very friendly and attentive without being 'fussy'.

The staff and hotel where very nice. Plus there was a pub close by (The Stag)if you did not eat at the hotel. The food I had at the hotel was nice. We were at the Manor for our nephew's wedding.     The staff were very friendly. The buildings and grounds were very nicely kept.

    No airconditioning! The room we had was very moden, but the sink in the bathroom was very high for anyone small to use.

    Room was clean and modern but it lacked some of the historic 'romance' of other parts of the hotel

    "The room was spacious, clean and well presented, the view over the grounds was delightful. The one worry having read other reviews was the noise of late night wedding parties, having returned from a show in town, wedding parties were still awake and yet it was very relaxed and our night was not disturbed at all. The staff were very helpful and extremely welcoming. Another concern was the distance into Stratford, it amounted to a ten minute drive. Overall an enjoyable stay which I would recommend to anyone."     "Excellant hotel, but be warned about the wedding receptions - lots of people and loud music. The Bar gets busy with the extra people, but this does not effect the restaurant as they eat in the wedding hall. Plenty of parking." (3304156910)

    The accomodation was first class. We had two room and both were spacious, clean and well equiped. The food both on the bar and restaurant were first class. The best assit for the hotel is the staff, always friendly and nothing too much to get for you. The hotel and grounds where well kept and the spa excellent.

    The only dislike was on the Saturday night there was a wedding reception and the music went on till midnight and could be heared all over the hotel.

    "In general the Hotel was very comfortable, clean and we had excellent service from all the staff. I believe that there should be more Bar Staff especially on evening when there is a function.     Very quiet setting, excellent pool and steam room facilities and very high quality food.

    The shower in the bathroom was fiddly and worked off the taps, expect to find a thermstatic control

    Individual rooms were very good with attractive features and views.

    The grounds were very nice.

    We could not get into the restaurant for dinner as it was fully booked. We were taken by car to an alternative where the food and service were both very poor and we had to wait over half an hour for a lift out to the restaurant, which had been pre-booked, and a similar time for our journey. back.
