    Location was ideal for train, shops and places to eat. Ideal for nipping in and leaving cases and bags.

    Floor in bathroom could have been a bit cleaner,room was for a disabled person, therefore probably wheelchair made it a bit grubby.

    Ideal hotel for the National Indoor Arena, only a ten minute walk along the canal. Price of evening meal very reasonable.

    The Room was exactley what we required. The tea and coffee materials were adequate and overall we were pleased with our stay.

    We found the rooms and corrider on the third floor to be unbearably hot and uncomfortable. We had a fan in the room which made little difference to our plight. If we had stayed more than one night this would have become an issue. Because our event started ealy on the morning of arrival we decided to park at the Mail Box which cost us a further £18 this was not clear when we booked.

    "No idea why there were 2 ironing facilities in the room. A lot of noise from other guests and people out on the town. I booked this hotel as it was near the venue we were going to, there was no mention of it being THROUGH a shopping centre. Not impressed." (107622916)

    Adequate room with good heating.

    Overpriced. No visible room service available. Very small room. No better than a cheap budget hotel. No spare pillows. Quilt underneath cover looked dirty. Dirt and gaps in grouting around shower cubicle. Only 2 tissues in box in bathroom. No free car parking (£18 a day!!!). Had to walk a distance with luggage through a shopping centre to get into hotel. Not good.

    Excellent location. Central to an area of very good restaurants, shops, and tourist destinations - Canal network, Jewellery Quarter, etc. Easy to access from rail station.

    location great, very central, great restaurant's and great shopping area.

    would have liked a canal view, as we had canal view the last time we stayed their and if was fantastic. Breakfast very expensive should have be included in price of stay, had to go out for breakfast that was very disappointing.

    Location

    Poor room maintenance and decor, the first room was cold due to a defective heater and window ventilator being broken. The alternative room was shabby and in need of decoration and the TV didnt work. The bed is poor for the cost of stay - compare your standards to a Marriott offer and I think you will see the difference.

    Staff is very helpful. The room was large and very clean and the bed of good quality. Internet connection works well.

    No air conditioning in rooms - Room very noisy when windows are open - Fan makes it impossible to work. Continental breakfast with very limited choice: one of the worst I have seen in years - Difficult to get easily to taxis without going through the shops of the building.

    Good clean spacious room

    Hotel very difficult to find within The Mailbox - needs better signposting Bottles being thrown into skip outside my bedroom until 1 am and started again early in the morning. Tried to complain to Reception but no-one answered the telephone. Can only assume Reception is unmanned at night which I find incredible considering the £120 price per night of the room alone. Room also incredibly hot. Food not up to standard - vegetables dried up and unappetising, meat ok though. Fresh fruit salad contained mostly tinned mandarin oranges and little else. Restaurant smelled of fryed food constantly. I was not impressed by this hotel at all.

    "fantastic place mail box !! clean , bars fantastic ,, but !!! for £125.00 a night the hotel was to warm at night ,,no air con ,, checked in and staff sez bar was shut ,, due to wedding on night ,, think hotel could off imbersed people stopping there ,, breakfast was superb ,, staff top notch ,, but if u r payin top dollar ,, ps ,, if u dont eat at the fantastic bars b4 u go back 2 ramada u will be charged £11.00 4 a tikka sandwich !!! be warned , !! also car parking at £17.00 a night is a joke !!!!!!!!!!!!!"     "The room was of a good size but the view was poor being of an adjacent roof. A colleage who booked only a few weeks ago for the same nights got a canal view. For the money charged one would expect 'satellite tv' to be more than the four terrestrial channels. Some of the bar staff were slow and not well trained in using the till. These comments aside it was a pleasant stay and the hotel is in a good location." (97403688)

    Hotel was very central and handy for amenities

    The fatty kitchen smells permeated much of the hotel and the room was not clean and very basic.

    "had i known there was no restaurant in the hotel i would not have booked to stay here the room door lock failed which locked my glasses inside i had to go to the concert which was my reason for being here with out them this was not good as i attend several concerts a year in birmingham i will find alternative accomodation" (97915872)

    "Very nice hotel, when we arrived we wanted somewhere with a nice bar and relaxing surroundings plus near to other services such as shops and restaurants; the hotel is located very well with some lovely walks from the hotel to the city centre. We found the atmosphere in the lounge and bar very relaxing, with lovely background music. Being a same-sex couple we are nervous in public areas, but we felt very relaxed and secure in the hotel. Having the lift was wonderful too and made our stay comfortable. There was a slight hiccup in the checking in, with some confusion over the booking, but it was soon sorted out by very helpful staff. In general we enjoyed our stay, it was comfortable and allowed us to spend some quality time together while enjoying the surrounding areas, the only grumble was the TV reception, which was very poor at times. However I would stay here again as I enjoyed the atmosphere so much." (97446514)

    It was very comfortable, clean and temperature was nice, not too hot or cold. There was nice coffee and tea facilities and we generally felt safe and secure.

    The TV reception was very poor and although it was advertised as having Sky TV, there was no Sky TV. There were some radio stations to listen to, but when we wanted to watch some TV, the reception became progressively worse until it was unwatchable.

    Good rooms nothing too fancy but modern and clean. Central location to city centre and NIA. With amenities right next door like a mini supermarket, 3 good restaurants and a coffee shop. Also has WiFi connection.

    There are bars playing music on the canal side that are a little noisy at weekends.

    "Our visit was good, although we did about position beforehand,Staff were excellent. It would be nice if the price of breakfast were included and also a deal on the price of parking as the mailbox is not very cheap!     Position excellent for visiting Birmingham , our room had a lovely view overlooking canal

    Hotel extraction system either very poor or not working? Smell of cooking to be found in reception and lobby area .

    "The accommodation was very good with good restaurant facilities adjacent to it. The room overlooked a canal basin. The bar was small and prices were comparable with local bars and not overpriced. The lounge was rather small, but the bedrooms had plently of space for sitting. There were only andwiches and snacks being served in the evening and no meals available" (97637133)

    The location is very nice; set within the canal basin. The staff were very helpful to take our baggage before our rooms were available.

    The bar prices are too high and also does not promote a very friendly ambience.

    Internet not working, no car park, you need to park in the Mailbox car park which is quite expensive. Not really easy to find if you are driving.

    Friendly & helpful staff. Spacious room, comfortable bed. Good breakfast selection. Nice location, convenient for station, shops & theatres.

    Swipe card room entry tricky to operate. Could hear conversations of the guests in the neighbouring room.

    "Staff were helpful, efficient and polite. Rooms clean, beds comfortable, room temperature comfortable and all equipment worked. Filter coffee machine a nice touch. Bathroom roomy and clean. Hotel a little difficult to spot at first amongst all the restaurants and disappointed to find there was no free car parking as guest of hotel. Car park full on arrival so had to wait 15 minutes on yellow lines to get into car park (remember we had suitcases). Hotel excellently situated for city centre shops, restaurants and theatres. Lovely outlook onto canal. Excellent breakfast and speedy seating." (97177193)

    Clean, comfortable, quiet, centrally located for all central Birmingham attractions and perfect for all Mailbox shops and restaurants. Excellent breakfast. Quick check out.
